Hi all am the new guy in town,.... I just thought I would take a moment and introduce myself.
Well where to start, I am a 30 year old father of 2 wonderful girls, and a grandfather of 1..... *A brief pause while many of you do that math* Yes thats right neither of the girls are biologically mine. But I love them none the less.
I am an adventures soul often out, trying new things, exploring, pushing the boundaries well pretty much anything I can push at. Interestingly enough it can often land me in interesting situaitons, games and dares. I am also a gamer as well, playing prettying much any roleplaying game under the sun. Am only refering to table top games here, am honestly not a big fan of computer or console RPG games.
I am also an avid reader, I am in the process of teaching myself, to draw and use photo shop. Personally I don't think it is going to well as of yet, but I am find a marked improvement and that excites... When it comes to books, I read alot of Sci-Fi, modern day thriller (Tom clancy is great), I also love to read alternative history..
Ask me anything and I will answer. Personally I tend to find thats the best way to get to know someone knew is by asking them question...

Good lord... how old is the baby? I'm sure you get a lot of joy from them. ^^
Clancy? Cool. I have to confess I didn't make it through Red October (but I like the movie a lot!), but I couldn't put down Patriot Games. ^^ Haven't picked up anything more of his, though... read much Crichton? Which sci-fi authors do you follow? And alternative history? Can you give me an example?
Photoshop's fun... which version do you have? And do you have any examples to show off? ^^

I think the baby is about 6 months or so at this point. I never remember, I know bad grandpa BAD
I enjoy the Splinter Cell books and Rainbow six was great. I've read some Crichton work, his more popular stuff, Jurasic park (Series), Andromada strain, sphere, Raising Sun (A wonderful book). I don't follow any one author I tend to read a wide range of different sci-fi authers. My favorites include Robert Heinlein, David Drake, Kevin J Anderson, Richard Knaak. Those are the ones from memory.
Alternative history is where they take historical event and change it. Example would include the island of Nantucket being thrown back in time to the brozen age. The south winning the civil war, or Aliens attacking in the middle of World war 2. All of those are real examples from books I've read. If your interested check out Harry Turtledove.
No photoshop examples yet, but I will try and find my deviant art url and post it

sorry sweatdrop I was spacing out here, I saw we had a new person but it didnt occur to me to check for them sweatdrop My bad sweatdrop
I love Heinlein, hes my favorite author. My cats name is even 'Random Numbers' from one of his books (yes people, for those who read my thread and didnt figure it out yet, its in one of RAH's books, I think Time Enough For Love?) Did you know Heinlein has a crater named after him on Mars, and its one of the five most likely spots to contain water under it making it suitable for colonization?

Oh I guess I will forgive you this time # : o ) I believe that is from time enough for love, its been a few years since I have read that one so am not to sure. I had heard something about the Crater, but not about it being one of the five most likely spots to have water. thats pretty darn kewl

When I was re-reading it a year or so ago, and right near the beginning, I realized that Crichton doesn't spend much time in Los Angeles -- he has Smith turn down Figueroa, which would have him going the wrong way on a one-way street... stop looking at me strangely. It amused me. Anyway, especially because you mentioned the alternative history thing, I'll recommend another Crichton to you: Eaters of the Dead. ^^ LOL aliens attacking during WWII?? I dunno, that might just be a little too alternate... xd I'll give it a look, though. There never seem to be enough books to keep me busy. Added you on DA, btw. ^^
