Have YOU ever written a book? Was it published? What's it called and what's it about?

I am in the process of writing a book... 3nodding
It hasn't been published because it's not finnished. I don't know what to call it yet, but it's about a girl who has LONG white hair and who (later in the book) can turn into a white dragon. One of the last of a dying breed.
(Some dragon-formers are evil. White = Life/Healing, Black = Death/Pain... Ect...)

I've been working on one for about three years now. I have the first two chapters written and a bit of the third. I know it doesn't sound like much for three years of work, but I've mostly been working on an outline and on all the bits and pieces I want to make sure I include. I have a lot of themes and strains of symbolism that I have to keep straight, which is why it's so slow going.

And it doesn't help that every time I've started over the writing part about five times now. Every time I will get to about the fourth chapter (or less) and then re-read and think "NO NO NO! This isn't how it's supposed to be!" and rip it all up. This book is my baby, I can't accept anything less than perfection. Unfortunately, no one is perfect and no one can create perfection sad It sucks!

That's exactly how it is for me. Writing is an art form, and you need to have things just-so in order to be satisfied. I myself have been going on four years all together and have only made about three chapters. Which I am constantly revising.

It started out as a fun little hobby I was toying around with, but now, I'm actually quite serious about it.

I've been writing since I was eight. I wrote random stuff at first just as a hobby, but eventually I got good enough that my english teacher said I should consider this as a career. Since then, I've written my two chapbooks of poems. (sadly, they aren't published crying )

I'm in the process of writing my third one, which kinda expands on the themes touched in my other books. I'm not sure what form of writing to call it, but the closest I would call it is would be epic narrative poetry, and it covers a fantasy setting, too.

the problem is, I keep going back to edit my previous works that I never get to working on the one I'm writing at the moment, and vice versa. I'm kindof a dysfunctional writer sweatdrop

Back in the day, and by that I mean when I was about 8, I got into writing because I discovered the beauty that was the internet, and being a little kid in tune with the times, I loved me some Pokemon. With their powers combined, I was introduced to fanfiction, and being a trendy little kid as well, I began to write my own. They sucked. Bad.
And then I got a more permanent internet, and I discovered something called roleplay. I didn't do messageboard roleplays, but chatroom roleplays on AOL. Because of the descriptive fad of the time, I quickly developed a large vocabulary and was being pushed through advanced English classes. This is probably because most people at my school were so stupid the reason they never had pencils was because they ran away, refusing to be associated with whatever droll their owners wrote.
/rant
So anyway, this continued until I was eventually belting out storyline ideas like a team of manatees in a large studio aquarium. I eventually found one I really, really liked and decided I wanted to write a book on it.
And here I am, a little over one year later, about 260 pages into it with no end in sight...I keep getting sidetracked with planning out other ideas.

But seriously, I've always wanted to be a writer of sorts, being a constant in school newspapers and stuff, but I've never really been so serious as I am now.

Wrote a book. It sucked. It was short. I'm being extremely blunt. Trying again. Not published. Anything else? Nope.

I've written numerous stories, but my current work (brimming up to two years) is probably my best bet at being published--or, it would be if the early chapters weren't so desperately in need of revision because they suck. >.< Nothing published yet, but I live in hope.

And there is no way I can sum up the plot in one sentence and make it sound exciting. xp

I've written many an attempted book in my day, and I have completed thirteen. Have I published any? No.

However, I am in the process of seriously editing a novel I wrote last year, entitled "Angel Devil Mortal". It's a supernatural mystery about a police detective whose partner is murdered by a serial killer calling themselves "Crusader". Through the course of the investigation, he gets caught up with a demon and his mortal lover, an angel who's desperate to save his brother, and a human girl with a vendetta.

And there, I've just basically read you the description off the back. biggrin I plan on sending this to publishers within the next month, so, fingers crossed, I may become a published novelist.

I have several works in progress...but I guess I'm only serious about two or three of them. Two of those are collaborative works as well...

Anyways, the series I'm most serious about has about 5 chapters finished....or at least a rough draft of the first five chapters...I'm not really happy with them yet.

The other two are still currently in the planning stages.

I plan to at least try to get them all published.

Cocl, I'm working on an entire little seires. And i have had a poem published! I think the poem was called 'Summer Wishes' (It's quite sad i don't remember the name of a poem I wrote!). It can be found a poetry.com after searching for Tara Nester.

I hope one day I'll become a full-fledged author! Writing is a passion of mine! So is art! I'll make my own covers! wink
