My last gig went really really well, we made a couple grand and the place was packed.

but I've had some really bad ones too...Including outnumbering the audience. By a good five to one. That's a long story.

My high school jazz band took a road trip to compete in a jazz festival.

I decided to bring my CD player for the bus ride, along with a couple extra batteries in my shirt pocket.

During the performance, I switch from bari to tenor for one song. When I went to switch to bari after that one was done, those batteries fell out of my pocket.

The entire front row in front of me gasped, because they just saw something metallic falling "from my sax."

i've had some really fun gigs and some very depressing gigs. when i was in middle school, the band concert featured all bands, including jazz. we always drew a big crowd there. but our high school has a smaller auditorium, and at some of our concert band concerts we drew very few people, mainly parents. our jazz and latin band filled up the seats. one time i played in a musical, City of Angels, and we drew the best crowds on Fridays and Saturdays; the show lasted a couple of weeks.

I would have to say my best school performance ever was the last jazz band concert. I didn't choke and I finally proved to that guy who's been trying to put me down from the start that I know what I'm doing.

It was my last time chance too, because he graduated last year. : )
