I've always loved the mystery and comedy of Fushigi Yuugi, so I'm collecting as many edits of it as I can! biggrin So behold!

Miaka Yuuki/Priestess of Suzaku

Miaka Yuuki, a normal high school girl thrust into the world within the pages of a book called The Universe of the Four Gods where she becomes the Priestess of Suzaku and bands together with her seven warriors of Suzkau to save the country of Konan and her best friend Yui from destruction heart

The love intrest and money loving Suzaku warrior Tamahome. His love for the priestess is what governs his actions most.

The Emperor of Konan in the epic tale. He's a little self absorbed with his image but he's a good hearted man with a deep love and respect for Miaka :3

It's Tasuki the women hating, lovable idiot of the series that has some very memorable and stupid moments but has a big heart :3

Mitsukake

The quiet and kind healer of the seven. Not much is known about him other than he was in love with a woman in his village but unable to save her. He then dedicates his life and healing powers to help the Suzaku warriors.

Chiriko

The youngest of the Seven Seishi, he's a child prodigy and very intelligent so long as his character is showing, but when it's gone he's prone to cry and get frazzled. However he shows great strength when needed in an unfortunate situation.

Yui Hongo/Priestess of Seiryu

Miaka's best friend that was thrust into the book along with her. Only difference is that Yui went vengeful against Miaka for being able to get the affections of Tamahome and revenge for a horrible misunderstanding when she was alone in the world of the book. She is, however, a good person.

Nakago the villian of the series. I fail to see him as villianous since I like him so much XD But his deep rooted scarrs from a bad past make him into the twisted man he is.

Amiboshi

A young boy found by the Suzaku warriors posing as their seventh member Chiriko, only to expose his true identity at the summoming ceremony of Suzaku as belonging to the Seiryu seven instead. Though not evil by nature, he merely got in with a bad crowd. It is his twin brother Suboshi that has the real violent streak in him.

The younger twin brother to Amiboshi, Suboshi has a lot of anger towards people, especially Tamahome and Miaka after what happened to Yui upon entering the book. He is in love with Yui and takes any measures to see to it that she is happy. Although Suboshi and Amiboshi are brothers, they very seldom have moments together in the anime.

The Only female member of the Seiryu seven, she controls lightening and supposedly heals men through intercourse. Kinky XD

Ashitare

A beast of a man abused and treated like an animal by Nakago. It is because of him that Nuriko dies while searching for a diving relic to summon suzaku. Only fortunate thing with Nuriko's sacrifice is that Ashitare went with him.

A traveling performer before becoming one of the Seishi, Tomo is a rather cruel and callous man towards people, especially Soi whom he has issues with. After all, he loves Nakago as well. Tomo wears the colours red, yellow and indigo proudly.

Miboshi

A childlike person at first, Miboshi has the power to control and possess. He's not a popular character, but he's known best at posessing Chiriko, causing both his own and Chiriko's downfall.

~*The Byyako Seishi*~

Tatara

Not much know about him but he guards the relic needed to summon Suzaku, a mirror that once belonged to the Priestess of Byyako and his lover. When Tatara finally dies after ninety years of guarding the treasure, his love and priestess in Japan dies suddenly, the two finally reuniting after years apart.

Tokaki

Although he wasn't mentioned much in the anime/manga, Tokaki appear to help Tamahome, his former student, with issues regarding the Priestess and a stolen relic needed to summon Suzaku. At first he appears an old man, but because of a spell his wife casts, it allows them to transform to their forms from 90 years before.

Subaru

Also not in the anime much, she feels saddened that Tamahome and Miaka may never be together, while angry at Tokaki for trying to tear them apart. However when issues with the other Seishi Tatara happen, she casts a spell on herself and her husband to make them appear as though they did 90 years ago.
