Baptist Holman OutkasTeen Baptist Holman Sadly are secular country cant ban or limit pornography however there is a age limits but that appears to be the only restriction on pornography and its not effective. Television is now at the non-nude porn stage and its growing fast. Thank God for FCC but they still need to put more restrictions on TV. Makes me wonder if are country is growing into a pagan like culture were sex and idol worshipping was consider normal. I wish we all can stop these things but likely it wont happen because liberals abuse the real meaning of Freedom of Speech. Tell you the truth, its going to get worse everyday, perhaps its related to prophesy. SO WHAT IS THE REAL MEANING OF "FREE SPEECH," if we took their free speech away, why don't we take yours away. yes, i believe in free speech, so answer me that, what do you think free speech is, and why don't i take your right to free speech. you want to know who doesn't know the meaning of free speech, our president and the morons who passed the patriot act. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances. Freedom of Speech is simply the right to speak freely without being quieted by the government. Freedom of Speech is not the right to have an Abortion or producing pornography. If it was "Freedom of Will" then it would make sense but it doesnt exist. The abuse is that Freedom of Speech doesn't represent the free exercise to do anything. Anyone could label murder as Freedom of Speech, its insane. yes, but what the founding fathers were saying, just like god was saying when he created choice, we can have all choice, or no choice, and so in the case of abortion and sex and porn, choice is the key word here. and why do you think abortion is wrong, who says its wrong, is it wrong because you think it is bad, which is an opinion and does not support the fact of it being wrong, if its because of your religion, the word abortion is never stated in the bible, and if you do say its wrnog because of your religion, than who says you get the right to tell the government that your religion is right, which goes against the Freedom of Religion rule. NOW GO GET A COPY OF "MERE CHRISTIANITY"!!!!

I think by asking what freedom of speech meant, you were basically asking for politics to come into the discussion. The only reason we have freedom of speech is because of the Bill of Rights, which is a political object. I believe it is only fair if he uses that to define freedom of speech. 3nodding
As for my opinion on the matter, I believe freedom of speech is just the right to speak what you believe. It also gives you the right to speak freely in the means of petitioning "the government for a redress of grievances." So although we might not like it, people can bring pornography and sex into court, make a big stand, and make them legal and acceptable.
Though just because other people have used their freedom of speech for the worse, doesn't mean we can't use our freedom of speech for the better. The freedom of speech applies to everybody. 3nodding
thank you for your opinion, but i made a post called "constitution" in the debate forum so we wouldn't need to talk about this anymore on the main forum, so i'll copy and paste it there, but if anyone has anymore opinions on this, please feel free to do so in the debate forum

I agree that the freedom of speech given us by the constitution has beeen severely abused by people who can't tell right from wrong. However, those of us who have morals also practice free speech when we go to church and whenever we protest the decisions of the current political administration. People are going to do bad things whether the law permits them or not, but we all can benefit from supporting free speech. It is something I think many of us, including myself, take for granted every day.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Bible say somewhere that Christians will be persecuted when the end is near? So I think it is inevitable that free speech will be taken away from us. No amount of human support can overthrow a prophesy. Therefore, we must learn to stand up for our beliefs, whatever they may be, regardless of the political circumstances.

No matter what you do, everyone is given a choice to do what they want with what they have. A kid with toilet paper could TP a house or stick it in the bathroom to be used properly. Someone given a match could light a candle and use it for scent and light or burn up a house. To take away everything that others can use badly is to take away pretty much everything. Taking away our freedom to do or say certain things would be stopping certain people from doing or saying what you do not enjoy, but it would also be taking stopping others from doing or saying what you do enjoy. Everyone in this country is given the right to have a voice. That means you cannot overrule their voice because you do not agree with it. In the same way that you speak of stopping them, do you not think they speak of stopping you? What if their wishes to shut you up come true and not your wishes to do vise versa? Then what?
