Well as some of you may know, yesterday was my daughters last performance for the season. At least, the last one that meant anything.

They finished in 8th place out of 16 schools. Their division was one of the toughest groups to perform yesterday. There were so many good schools there, it must have been hard for the judges to score.

As for the team, they actually got the highest score for the season. SO they are all still happy about the show. But in the same token, sad they finished so low in the standings.

I will be on and off for the next couple of days. Homework for class is tough because there is a test on Tuesday. I am having a hard time with this stuff, so I must really work at it...

Huggles to all....

Congrats to your daughter. It does sound quite tough deciding what makes one color guard better than another. What sorts of things do they judge on?

Good luck on your test!

There are different categories that the team gets judged on. Within those are two sections, one for difficulty of the work and two for how well the work is performed. Then of course they have scores for ensemble and general effects. But the first two are the most important. It's different scoring for field season vs winter guard. Field is with the band, of course but winter is done alone and inside the gym. Very different types of shows.

All of the guard have said thank you to all for wishing them luck!

As for my test, I got a 127 out of
125. Yep, you have to highlight to see the score... xd

Extra credit, I'm guessing.

Yep, extra credit... The last three problems were word problems. We had to set up all three equations, but only had to solve one of them. I of course solved them all.
