So whatcha all think? should the God cards be legalized?
PostPosted: Sun Apr 23, 2006 8:44 pm

hmm... I think they should re-print the god cards into a legalized form (basically what they did for the Sacred Beasts)...

Obviously they will be toned down like crazy, and won't have their normal god effects...but they are there to be legal, and to have fun with.

(and seriously...it just hit me but why can they allow the name "god" but not Demon, Angel, ect.....)

dunno good question....

heh its quite stupid actually... I mean I can understand why they don't use Angel, Demon, ect... since they don't want to get involved in all the crap that MTG has to put up with and stuff like that. And I also understand why they change the names like Twilight Zone to D.D. since it interfers with copy rights I believe, ect... but come on! I mean seriously, they should have done what they did to the demon emperors and call them like sacred beasts or something like that....

Yeah...If they used God, they'd be attacked by all sorts of groups. On the card, they printed "Divine Beast" didn't they?

Also, I don't think they should be legalized...It would be one of thoes staples that everyone would get in their decks...Every game would end up the same, and it would take the chalenge out of the game again e_e

I agree with you on that much that the normal god cards shouldn't be legal, however...they should do what they did to the sacred beasts and turn them into balanced cards.

Frankly, I don't care if they put god on the card or not. As long as they quit calling them "Divine Beasts". It just makes them sound stupid that way. Plus, they use Angel in the names, but as a type, they made them into fairies. And angel is nothing like a fairy, just like a fiend is different than a demon. I believe the Egyptian God Cards should be legal, but change them to have effects on the cards and to have decent effects (or even effects so that they aren't like a powerhouse by themselves). I can't think of anything else to say right now because me brain hurt.

no they shouldn't because their effects aren't printed on the cards if they reprint them so that it says their effect then why not but not untill then

Here I'll write down a description of Legal God Cards

1. Winged Dragon of Ra
Divine~Beast
ATK/? DEF/?
This card can only be summoned by removing one "Hamon". This card cannot be normal summoned. It gains 1000 attack points for each spell card that was removed from play. Gains only half of "Hamons" ATK strength.

The same thing for Obelisk and Slifer.

that's somewhat stupid...since the sacred beasts have nothing to do with the god cards.

I would have thought of something like this

1. Winged Dragon of Ra
Divine Beast
10 star
Atk/? Def/?
This card can only be special summoned by sacrificing three monsters on your side of the field. The original Atk and def of Winged Dragon of Ra become the total atk and def of the monsters tributed. Whenever Ra would be sent to the graveyard by a card effect, you may pay half your LP to negate and destroy that card.

It won't get its super ATK boost rule nor its god effects... Just making it invulnerable for a big cost is good enough.

2. Obelisk the Tormentor
Divine Beast
10 Star
atk/4000 def/4000
This card can only be special summoned by sacrificing three monsters on your side of the field. Sacrifice two monsters on your side of the field to destroy all monsters on the field.

Er...his infinite atk is to strong, so a dark hole at the cost of 2 monsters is pretty balanced. I would have given it a raviel ability, but then that would make it sort of unoriginal.

3. Slifer the Sky Dragon
Divine Beast
10 Star
atk/X000 def/X000
This card can only be special summoned by sacrificing three monsters on your side of the field. X is equal to the number of cards in your hand. Whenever a monster is summoned, you may discard 1 card from your hand and pay 2000 LP (this is considered a cost not an effect), and have the monster be summoned with half its original atk and def.

That whole -2500 is to much...plus by using the ability you in turn weaken Slifer...plus no dark world abuse.

For that last one, how would Slifer get his attack points? Is it still the 1000 for the cards in your hand?
