"Several stories interweave during two days in Los Angeles involving a collection of inter-related characters, a black police detective with a drugged out mother and a thieving younger brother, two car thieves who are constantly theorizing on society and race, the distracted district attorney and his irritated and pampered wife, a racist veteran cop (caring for a sick father at home) who disgusts his more idealistic younger partner, a successful black Hollywood director and his wife who must deal with racist cop, a Persian-immigrant father who buys a gun to protect his shop, a Hispanic locksmith and his young daughter who is afraid of bullets, and more."
IMDb.

Has anyone seen this movie? I love it. It takes you a step inside other people's races. It's steps outside of the nostalgalistic view of LA. This movie is about sheer racism and stereotypes, so I am quite suprised that it won 3 oscars. Many people live in the world thinking that, "Racism doesn't exist anymore!" Haha.. wrong you are... anyways.
If you havent' seen it... SEE IT. Or Ill kill you. Kthx smile

I haven't seen it, but the people I know who have say it's a good movie, but a little sad (perhaps it's just "real," not "sad"). 3nodding I may rent it just to see what all the buzz it about.

I think the fact that is it, "real" is what makes it sad.. cause it's like.. "no way..." I don't know if that makes any sense... ha ha ha.

the movie was amazing! it was so good, yet some parts are so sad. the only problem i had with the movie was Thandie Newton's character. if i were her, i would've spent the rest of the movie in jail for assault on an officer after what she went thru....

edit: sorry, that was kind of a spoiler!!
