I only ever read the first book, but it was alright, not the best book ever but it worked.

A friend of mine recomended Pendragon to me, so I decided I would try it. The thing is, every time I go to a book store to see if I might like it, or possibly even buy it, they don't have ti first one. I don't know about you guys, but I hate to skip books in a series, especially the first one.

Well, the first book was released about 4 years ago, and some bookstores only stock newer books, but I'm sure if you ask them enough they'll cave in and order it for you.

The writing style was too childish for me.
Otherwise, they're fairly good books, plot-wise. I got as far as the 5th I think, and then I just had to stop.

The writing IS a bit childish, but the plot more than makes up for it. especially since in this series the good guys don;'t always win. It makes very book alot more suspensfull. it's one of my favorite series 3nodding

I really liked these books, but I only read the first four and then kind of stopped. sweatdrop Some day I'll have to start over again...but yeah, I enjoyed the adventure.

I agree, the writing style is a bit childish, but the plotline does enough to compensate. The good guys don't always win, as they do in so many other books. There are so many unanswered questions, deep questions, questions that provoke thought. If Saint Dane was once a traveler, why did he become so evil? What would the destruction on Halla really mean? Halla is an interesting concept too. One that one cannot fully grasp. All times, all places, everything that ever was, or ever will be. MacHale does a rather good job with creating concepts a bit large to swallow, ones that you have to think to even begin to comprehend.

I would reffer you to a guild that was wholly dedicated to this series, but I fear the people there are nothing more than fangirls and boys gone from mangas to actual books. (( no offence to them, they are just too extatic for my tastes))
I do like how he writes though, Its interesting to actualy read someone write the way they speek rather than whats the propper way to write. If I did that you would probably see "Like" every few sentances. Its a good refresh from the usual. Not to mention the idias themselves are easier to swallow when spoken person to person, rather than discriptions that are a mile long with opaque concepts.

My goodness! This is my second-most favorite series! I can't wait until tonight when it comes out! I won't put it down until the end! I can't get it right away though; my life is just too busy redface
