Southern Water Tribe~ South Pole

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.

Within the southern icy continent, a rather bustling city of heavily painted warriors thrive. Female and male water benders are everywhere, tending to their given chores and duties, assisting the sea of fur tents flourish into a metropolis.

The city is seperated into two blocks. One area, which is unwalled and covers 99% of the area, is the residential areas where hundreds of fur tents are pitched. The second area, which is vastly smaller than the first, is the government area of the tribe. Buildings in the second division of buildings are all situated within a large ice wall, and are protected at all times by warriors/benders.

Taizen woke up for another day in the south pole, obviously it was going to be another, boring day in the south pole, His parents were out doing 'business' elsewhere, meaning he couldn't practice his waterbending with them, and he wouldn't get anywhere by himself, he tried of course, but Scrolls alone were poor teachers. Taizen was going to have to look for a teacher. Otherwise, he could say goodbye to becoming a master waterbender. Taizen stretched from his bundle of turtle seal pelts (The shells had been used for sheilds and bowls) and continued to perform morning rituals, making a quick detour to the little waterbenders room. and off to look for a teacher, but OF COURSE there were few master waterbenders there. "One of these days... i'm going to go to the north pole, and get myself a real teacher"

Taizen Walked out of the large igloo he and his parents had made together, out of waterbending water, and freezing it. "Another thing i'm not so good at.. freezing water, but will i learn how to fix that? Nooo..." Taizen got some Extremelyhot soup from a large pot in the middle of the camp, being kept hot by a boy who seemed to have been given this duty for doing something bad. Taizen ignored the burning sensation in his mouth as he gulped it down, it was best to eat liquids hot, than solid and cold. "Taizen! News from the north!" A hobbled over old man ran/tiptoed to him, Waving a scroll in Taizen's face "They say they need some new waterbenders! If you ask me, its fbecause the next avatar is from the firenation! And we all know how much power The fire nations going to have if they get they're claws on him... or her!" He said angrily, he continued to talk about how the avatar was a peace maker not a war machine, taizen had ignored him getting the scroll from his grip and reading it thoughtfully, "Finally! I can learn some real waterbending!" Taizen rolled up the scroll and told the still rambling Man: "Tell my parents i'm going to the north, apparently theres a boat 'bout ready to leave right now." Taizen said without a second glance heading out to the ship, He was going to the north pole!

(And exunt!)

((OUTSIDE OF SOUTHERN WATER TRIBE))

Brrr. Its chilly out. I wonder where I am? Where could the winds have taken me?

::Raziel heads back inside his boat and quickly puts on a big black coat, and takes out his maps and sailing instruments. He flips a few pages, and reads a few dials, before setting them back into drawers on his desk.::

I guess I'm near the South Pole... I wonder whats going to happen here?

::Raziel shivers as he trudges though the snow towards the village, passing people with menacing and skeptical looks. He see a man standing on top of a hill looking down at the village, and rushes over to him.::

Hello! What your name, and what is this place? Can you answer me this as well? Why is it so cold here?

Well, you don't need to know my name. I'm just a waterbender here, training to get into the Southern Water Nation Gaurd. I think that answers your questions.

I have one more question...What's waterbending? Is it like earthbending?

Not quite my young friend. It is very different. Earthbenders always seem so strong and clunky, almost like a Fire Nation war machine. Waterbending is more flowing and it requires great concentration. Now if you excuse me, I have to get back to my training.

::Raziel starts walking into the town; trudging through the snow, past countless fur tents and houses. He stops at a man who obviously new this art of waterbending, because he was putting on a show with it. When he was done, Raziel went up to him.::

Hello sir, are you a waterbender?

Couldn't you tell?

Well, I saw a man earlier doin' it, and you both look the same so...Anyway, can you teach me some waterbending? I want to iimpress my pops when I get back home...

No, I can't, but this is just the Southern Water Tribe. All the way at the other end of the globe is a man who tought me all I know. I think he died a while back, but you might find someone to teach you some waterbending. Now, I have to go. There's always work to be done down here.

Thanks a lot sir! Bye now!

::With that, the waterbender left, and Raziel stared at him for a second or to, before heading back to his boat.::

::Raziel put up his sails, and lit a few candles before sitting down and praying for a safe journey to the other end of the globe. He leaned back in his chair, waiting for a wind to cath the sails and send his North.::

Jin wakes up getting ready for the day. He puts on his coat and started looking for a job.
PostPosted: Sun Oct 29, 2006 12:59 pm

Trudging through the snow, Jin sees he's foster parents. His foster parents waves at him and Jin waves back. His parents made a hand motion to come over where they were. Jin ran towards his parents.

"Hey mom. Hey dad."

"Jin. It's been a while since we had you, said Jin's mom. So... your dad has somthing to tell you.

Jin's mom ran towards the fur house she had made.

"Jin, said Jin's dad. We recieved this scroll from the Northern Water Tribe. It says we need new recruits for their Training Group. Your mom and I thought it over and... and we thought it was OK for you to go."

Jin looked up at his dad.

"Thank you, dad." Jin hugged his dad tight and turned back for the fur house.

Jin started packing his things. He went outside of his Tribe. To his left, he saw a ship with loaded Waterbenders. Jin looked back at his parents. Waved goodbye, and joined the other Waterbenders for their trip to the Northern Water Tribe! As soon as he got on, Jin saw tears run across his parents face.

"Jin, said Jin's dad. We recieved this scroll from the Northern Water Tribe. It says we need new recruits for their Training Group."

That was all Frost needed to hear. Sure he could bend the cold/ice to form a sword and other sharp objects as well as give himself a new arm and a surfboard but that was it. He needed to know how to bend the water itself and as much as he hated to admit it he needed sombody to teach him how to do it. He decided to follow this Jin person and befriend him but as soon as he outlived his usefullness he would move on. Frost didn't own much and he always carried with him his survival tools so packing was really quick. He made sure he had enough Flasks to carry around bending water and a few training scrolls and boarded the same ship Jin was on.

Zayiya sighed, pulling her furs closer to her body. The Southern Water Tribe was in sight, but now that she was here, she couldn't help wondering if it had all been a waste of time. Already, she could tell the sailors who commanded this ship could never be related to her. Even now, she could see one of the sailors pulling down his hood, dropping her hopes as he did so. No, his tan skin was too different from her porcelain, his deep brown hair a great contrast to her own auburn.

And his comfort in this cold!

She shivered, pulling her furs still closer. Waterbender or no, she preferred the tropical weather of her home in the Earth Kingdom, Amayen.

"Baolin's always got to play the hero," she mumbled irritably. She loved her duke, it was true, and as his ambassador she had the excuse of trade to fuel the search for her family. But sometimes, the boy's noble aspirations were too much. Maybe she didn't want to find her family, anyway.

Well, whatever his reasons, she was going to have to deliver the trade proposition, whether she liked or not.

Another gust of icy wind tore through her furs, and she shivered.

She was definitely not liking it.

The ship docked at the water tribe and Zayiya strode down elegantly, despite her trembling knees. She had been told the Southern tribe really had been a backwater village years ago. Well, it was no Northern tribe, she would admit as much, but at least there had been signs of development since the years of the war.

She was immediately met by a messenger, who took her scroll and bowed deeply before scurrying off, only to be replaced by another, to take her to her temporary lodgings.

Zayiya was stunned, suddenly deprived of her purpose for being there at all. Sure she could ask around, trying vainly to see if she had any relations, but as things were beginning to look, she was about as related to one of these people as a water dragon. All they had in common was waterbending.

"I really must be descended from swampbillies," she muttered to herself, wandering about her guest room. It was small, and respectively made of ice, but it wasn't without comfort. Why, there was even a pool of water in the corner. Had they known she was a bender, or was it merely a convenience that fate had happened to place in her midst.

In any case, Zayiya decided to take advantage of it. Shedding her parka, despite the cold, she closed her eyes and concentrated, moving her arms gracefully left and right, like a dancer, until the water in the pool was dancing with her.
