You know one topic that gets a lot of gamers tense is the subject of cheating. So what you guys think about cheating and using strategy books? Or even worst game shark? Is it being less then a gamer? Discuss. Share you're opinion on cheating.
As for me and I am sure many others. I don't really care about that subject but still I would like to here from some why cheating is "not good".

I usually cheat out of sheer boredom, or to just advance a story faster in a game. I see nothing wrong with minor cheating, but when you use it to just blow through a game, where is the challenge?

As long as you have fun, then what's wrong with cheating? For a lot it just enhances the "fun".
...Of course, the opposite can hold truth, and it can be boring skimming through the game.

You should do a real thread about that unless you d'ont want too get flame make someone else do it for you! 3nodding I have nothing against cheating but sometimes I feel cheap and not challenged by doing so! gonk Quote: As long as you have fun, then what's wrong with cheating? TwistedTrex Cheat after completing the game. I have to disagree with that in some cases. Disgaea's one of them. It's a good game and all, but the process of leveling some characters is about as enjoyable as ripping your eyes out, then getting kicked in the crotch a few dozen times, and finally getting hit by a bus.

Cheating is fine under certain conditions:
It's strictly offline The cheater doesn't claim he "beat" the game
My uncle used to do that with Tomb Raider. He'd look online for walkthroughs whenever he got stuck. After he beat it, he'd go on about how he conquered the game. Sorry dude, but you didn't come close...
I don't mind cheating in games that have a heavy story. A lot of RPGs are real heavy in terms of story, but lack depth in gameplay. Sorry, but the turn-based system has been done to death and is losing its fun quality. I certainly don't feel like grinding the same monsters for hours just so I can have a prayer against the next boss. Then again, sometimes I DO like the horrid grinding. A sense of accomplishment and whatnot.
Again, as long as cheaters are not polluting online games, I don't have a problem with it.

I'll do it in games that I've already beaten.
I just find that cheating takes all the fun out a game.

Some games, though, just beg you to cheat.
The GTA series is a fine example.
Also, games that suck may be made better with cheats.

Cheating is fine as long as you're just dicking around. (Cheating in GTA is fun stuff) But if you're actually using cheats to get farther in the game, you fail. I also don't support people who spend all their time playing games getting a neck cramp from looking at the strategy guide so much.

Right now in my libing room, I have a surplus of 100+ strategy guides that I got when the gamestop i used to work at purged all of their strategy guides from the system. I had to dumpster dive for them, but the dumpster was dry, so they all survived.

I support strategy guides 100% because some games have certain obscure hidden things that you'd NEVER find on your own, and the strategy guide allows people to get everything out of the game, rather than the non-retarded, non-impossible-to-find things. I don't use them, but I still learn all that obscure stuff from friend who 'do' use them. And without them at the core, I'd never get said info.
I'll also support cheating because not everyone out there is super-incredible at games and it's unfair to them to deny them the ability to see the game's story conclude. I strongly suggest people do so without cheating since there's far greater satisfaction in it, but I'd never force it upon them.
