((This is an ORP so that the cub's can meet the rest of the pride, enjoy))

It had been a good month or so since the cub's had been born and they could atleast walk and say basic word's, they'd never been out before now and let's just say the mother was very anxious.

She wondered what the pride would think of them?
Personally she thought there where no cub's more perfect then them, then again she was their mother.
They where allowed to think that way of their children.

As she slowly walked out of the den, she looked around, making sure everything was at least peaceful before she called back into the den.
Giving a small, purring roar to her little cub's.

The first one out was the eldest son who instantly ran under his mother for protection against the strange big world they where being brought into.
He didn't like change much but he was game anything his mother was and just stayed glued to her leg, blue eye's looking at the golden world around him with mild curiousity.

The mother gently licked the top of her son's head and whispered softly.
"Damu don't go under me you'll make me trip." She said softly, ear's pushing forward to look back into the den and see whether her other cub's would follow so easily as their older brother.

Now, here was the real question. Did Khepri really feel like getting up and following her mother and brother out there into the bright noonday sun over the hot sands? Or did she want to lay here and soak in the sleep that she'd been lacking in ever since... before her brain could remember?

What are you doing?

Stay there.

"No, Ah don' think Ah will." Khepri spoke at last after the voices calmed down in her head.

What?!

She's moving, let her go. She's an idiot.

Yes, an idiot.

Fine.

Rolling her yellow and amber eyes, Khepri stood and rotated her small shoulders before taking short steps forward. The sun striped over her face as she started forward into the bright world and caused jems to light up in her eyes. Her eyelashes closed like a pair of venus flytraps before her lids met one another.

So this was the world? Why was it so bright? Was it always this way?

"Mommah?"

The lioness smiled softly as her second born came out and gently padded over to her, tongue smoothing down the small cub's fur before her ear's perked up at her daughter's word's.
She had been so proud since the cub's could talk.
They'd be such chatty thing's.

"Yes sweet heart?" She asked softly.
Wondering what was on her daughter's mind while unconciously checking if any of the pride member's where coming and if any more of her children where coming out.

Meanwhile her older brother took no notice of his sister, only to turn and watch her, pouting a little as she diverted their mother's attention away from him and just sat there.
Watching the new world they'd soon have to find their place in.

A soft smile spread over Khepri's small face as she batted her golden eyes at her mother and llicked her mothers leg lightly with a rough tongue. The sun was so bright outside that she had found it hard to see.

"Ah wanted tah see where yo' were." Khepri said softly and smiled at her mother.

Whimp.

Khepri put the top of her head on her mothers leg and rubbed it back and forth before lifting her head and looking out over the world.

Idiot. Go back.

Why are you forcing yourself?

"Because Ah need ta do it."

Teleka was in a dream world. He hadn't seen his sister in what seemed years and was quite happily trotting about as if nothing had changed. He had heard cubs, though thought they were just Nuri's two little ones.

He knew he was going to be a father but hadn't spoken of it much. He wouldn't unless something got it out of him, but ah the world of dreams seemed to suit the lion greatly. He was happy where he was, happy with life, and annoyed and angry at that damn slave.

He hadn't noticed the way he was walking and he suddenly stopped as his eyes focused on the outline of his sister and two cubs. It was her cubs? He was an uncle? No, couldn't be! She must be baby sitting!

Lying on the sands some distance away from everyone, it was a slave's position to be close to the red pelts. Crimson eyes scanned the area and took in the cubs that she saw. It made a small smile grow along Kirjava's features, but she let it pass as she thought about her son. Her little Ravi who she kept hidden from everyone here in a safe place no one knew about. This was no life for him, she knew that.

Turning her attention back to the group that was gathering, she rested her head on her paws and stayed put. As Kimeti had said, she wasn't to speak unless spoken to. And plus, it was better not to be seen or heard with these lions.

Nuri had just mused over the conversation moments before with Denahi before she suddenly caught sight of the lean form of Mpeka.

"So that was all the racket..." She mused, remembering near a month before when the roars seemed to build up in the thick air. Rolling her dark eyes, she glanced towards Naraka before a smirk crossed her maw. Now was the time to put her plan in action. Naraka was well into his fourth month, nearing his fifth, and she couldn't help but flaunt the idea she had.

Naraka must take his step towards leading the future, being the eldest, and Mpeka understood completly. So, with that smug smile crossing her maw, she slowly nudged the much larger cub compared to most of the rest (save Ravi who she had no clue about nor knew he was older than Naraka), and the two journed over towards the group. All the while, Denahi disappeared into the sands, though no one but herself and Naraka knew to where he was leaving.

"Mother!" Naraka grounded out as he was pushed towards the large group. He caught sight of Teleka and let out a slight growl, "I do not want to go over there." He hissed to himself, already angry at Denahi for the day, his mood irritated as his whines reached towards his mother's ears. However, all she did was pick him up by the scruff of his neck, and lead him there. Paws flailing, he was in a compromising possition, and as he caught sight of the other cubs, he let out a small-roar.

"Alright!" He said, defeated, and fell down with Nuri's chuckles racing through his ears. Like always, his mother got the best of him.

Nuri finally made it to where the others were, and as they became in ear-shot, the lioness let out a cold chuckle, the smug look crossing her maw once more.

"And so the pride lives on...such a large litter too, Mpeka." Glancing around towards the cave before hand, she had caught sight of the other forms, though now her eyes stilled upon the two that were out. Slowly, she trailed her gaze over Teleka, and than far to where Kirjava's form stood out in the sands, but than back to Mpeka.

"I hope you don't mind Naraka joining the group today?"

"I mind." Naraka said shortly, his eyes narrowed and his tone dark as he was quite close to holding a tantrum in front of the others. However, behind that act, he was quietly looking to the other cubs, sizing them up while they had not a clue of it.

Damu had caught his interest merely becuase he was male, however, hiding under his mother caused Naraka to smirk darkly. The boy would not be a nusence to himself nor Ra, or Baku for the matter. That is, if Baku would come, though Naraka douted it. The god-in-disguise seemed to like the night.

Turning his distracted gaze upon Khepri, he caught her eyes seeming to fade, and heard the last comment she had. His ears falling back, he had to question why, for it seemed weird for her to speak to the unasked question. Shaking his head, he looked to his mother who had been waiting, and grinning. It only took a second, but he already knew, these cubs were no harm to him nor his small quest. Though, as he looked back to them, he knew, they might do well to be introduced to Baku soon. He would need to watch them just as Nuri watched Denahi when he was sneaking off in the sands months before.

"Hush Naraka." Nuri said shortly to his last verbal comment, and turned back to the group.

Now there were lots of older lions and another cub. This cub was quite a deal bigger than herself or even her elder brother, but Khepri didn't entirely care about size or even age. He was throwing somewhat of a temper tantrum. So he didn't want to be here, he didn't have to make it so known, he would be a weakling and incredibly easy to crush if he kept up at this rate of showing all of his emotions. The small female could only hope for his sake he grew out of this phase.

Rolling her shoulders, Khepri stood and stalked over towards him slowly, sweeping her tail from side to side. Stopping a few feet from him, she cocked her head to one side and looked straight into his eyes with her cold golden shimmering ones. His eyes were harsh and his body language was almost non-existant. Almost. That was good.

"Why're yo' starin'? Tha's not the most respectable thing. Or hasn't anyone told yo' tha'?" Khepri said to him slowly, no emotion in her young voice.

Who's this one?

Another weak one. Ignore him.

The lioness gave a very content smile to her second born daughter only to raise her head at the sudden ammount of activity, a slight protective stance was given before the sight of Nuri calm her and she sat down.
Making sure not to squash her children, while she watched the older female bring her son toward's the group.
Chuckling at the temper on the growing young male before she smiled, she hadn't noticed Teleka yet and if she did, she was pretending not to for now.
Just to toy with him.

"Indeed, it was quite a struggle bringing them to this world." She said, a slight, playful joke to her voice.

But at Nuri's question she gave a small nod and a small smile as she watched the growing young male.
"And I don't mind at all."

Who was this?
The young male cub gave a short glance at the other male, watching him closely before he blinked at the dark smirk.
This one had different coloured eye's too.

He was the only one in the litter to inherit his father's blue eye's, but he found that something personally to be proud of.

Damu gave a small, playful growl, brow furrowing as he gave a grin, showing of his tiny baby teeth.

However a small nudge from his mother quickly made him behave and return his attention to her.

Mpeka smirked at her son, only to watch her young daughter speak with the older cub.
She enjoyed watching her children socialise for the first time.
However as she watched her daughter talk with such emotionless, she felt a small, twinge of pride.
Only to nudge her too.

"Kherpi, mind your manners, even though Naraka is a cub like you, he's older."
PostPosted: Mon Apr 24, 2006 12:11 pm

It was just at that moment that Mpeka spoke when Naraka lunged, his paws swatting at the small cub and pushing her to the ground. Though he made no threat to hurt her, he simply smirked a moment before letting out a playful growl. While the parents would believe he was playing, he was more content with proving to the smaller female that she better not underestimate him. He was angry, something that he showed to very few, and if she would mock him, she would fully regret it. It would only be a matter of time when Ra showed up, and the other brother wouldn't keep his intentions as hidden as Naraka did.

"That's right, mind your manners, runt." He hissed for her ears only, the cruel tone mimicing the one his mother used oftin, before he jumped away and pawed slowly towards Mpeka, his eyes studying the adult.

"Not by much though..." He finally answered towards her, "Ra and I still have a lot to learn, we are only cubs compared to the rest of The Blood." With a final nod and a sort of sadistic grin, he turned his eyes back to Damu, and raised a brow. This male seemed to have some spirit, even if he was a momma's boy. Than again, as Naraka turned his eyes to the females, he knew that being with the mother wouldn't cause many to be weak. He knew that personally.

"Naraka." Nuri hissed, glancing towards the cub he had all but attacked and left there. It was nothing threatening, but she knew her son better than that. Though others would only think he wanted to play, she knew that his mind was clicking.

"Mpeka, we must arrange a few lessons with the group when they grow older, possibly hunting?" Of course, it was naturally Nuri who would bring up the future and the growth instead of congratulating the present, "Though Naraka and Ra have just started, they still must go a long way. The sands are not as futile as the grasses of the south."

A small growl emerged from Khepri's mouth and she stood slowly. He was good alright. Very good. But that didn't mean just because he was older that he had any right to push her around. She stalked over and before the other cub had any warning whatsoever, took one of her paws and swiped all four of his legs out from under him, sending him to the ground. She didn't mind if he hit her, she didn't mind a scar or ten. What she did mind was the pure animosity she saw in this cub, she knew he wasn't playing, and he knew it too.

He wasn't going to step on her to get to where he needed to in his life. If he wanted to do that let him step on some other cubs. Not her, not either of her brothers or sisters.

"Runt, righ'. Ah'll mind meh manners when you mind yours. How 'bout tha'?" Khepri asked him slowly. Her voice wasn't cold, it wasn't welcoming, it wasn't hateful. She stated it matter of factly. She didnt' care what he thought, in fact she welcomed the challenge of his brain. But his brawn? What did you get done with that? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Except maybe earn yourself a few scars that you didn't necisarrily need.

Scars, how pleasant.

Swishing her tail, she turned and walked a good deal distance from him before turning and laying down in the sunlight on the hot sand. It was baking her soft belly in a nice way after all. How could she not enjoy it's pleasentness.

A small yawn came from her jaws and she opened her shimmering golden eyes to look back at the group. She would admit that she loved her mother, her father and even all of her siblings, but to her all the lions she saw in front of her were idiots. The gears in her mind were churning hard and she was sucking up knowledge faster than she thought she should. This may not have been normal, after all, look at her brother, but she did know that she was probably better for it.

Now to just figure out these voices.

Why not go back?

If it was one thing he had learned, it was to always be aware when searching the lands. And he did just that as she moved to stand. Naraka could see her perfectly out of his perifieral vision, and as soon as she swiped her small paw, he jumped. However, she had indeed caught his hide paw and set him sliding to the side, dust filtering from his slight fall as he quickly shook the pelt. No signs were left as his form showed, and all he could do was growl darkly.

"You little Bit-" Before he could finish the sentence, however, he was gripped forcefully within a jaw and lifted up. Nuri kept her face still, but silently realized she might need to teach Naraka a bit more. He failed at his brawns, though Ra would probably have tried to kill the cub. She was thankful for once that her other son was not around.

By all acounts, Khepri wouldn't have minded in the least had Nuri actually let Naraka attack her. The small cub didn't mind at all. It probably would have given her markings to keep on her bright red and white fur, markings like those of her brothers and sisters. Though had Nuri let Naraka actually attack a cub so much younger than him it would have shown bad taste and been awfully controversial. So it was probably best that she hadn't.

Though, as Naraka was snagged in the jaws of his mother, Khepri let her eyes focus on his and narrowed them darkly in a very "Come back when you're ready to fight with your brains and not your muscles kid" silent statement. Knowing of course fully well that Naraka was somewhat of a worshiped youngster from the look of him, Khepri could only deduce that she would probably never get the chance to see him use his brain really.

In a way that saddened her, because in the eyes of the wicked little one she could see so much potential and knowledge. All of it wasted because he was being brought up to use force rather than smarts. A sigh floated from her and she looked out over the savanaah.

Will you please move?

Feh, idiot lions. Maybe the voices were wearing off on her. Maybe she should stop letting them, though she did hope that eventually they would just dissapear.

Yeah, like that'll happen.

Teleka saw Nuri and stopped. He just laid down away from the femmes watching what was happening. After all, watching was what he wanted, to see the cubs, imagine his own. Yes he was alot more dreamy as of late then he had been for a long while. He watched the little female most, she reminded him of his beloved Kijinga, the bright red pelt. He just watched the cubs for now, if his sister knew he was there she obviously didn't want him too close so he wouldn't go any closer, mainly to avoid a fight with Nuri.

Anisafiwaa had awoken to see his mother and older siblings leave the den. It took him a while to wriggle away from his sleeping younger sisters and father, but when he did, he leapt out after the rest of his family.

Ooh! It was so bright out here! Ani loved it. It was warm and rough and the sand felt good under his feet. He bounced towards his sister and brother, then decided better of bothering them and flopped onto his side. He rolled about in the dirt, stretching and sneezing every so often. Soooo waarrrmmmm~ heart
