School teachers and tests. Gotta love them, to a point anyway. Heehee. OK, here's the thing. I was taking a test on the story "War Party" in English, and the teacher graded them, and handed them back the next day we had her. I got one of the questions wrong, but I didn't understand why.
"Which of these words discribes bud's mother the best." A- Greedy B- Determined C- Patient D- (can't remember.) The correct answer was B, but I put C. I was using quotes from the book to reason, but teachers have the final say, eh? "I thought the mom was more Patient. I mean, she said 'when your taking a long trip, you can't worry about the barking dogs.' and also, when the people in the wagon train were accusing her of leading them all into a trap because she could speak Souix, she smiled and said, 'If I was leading you into a trap, I'd have done it by now. If you don't trust me, that's ok. I'm only here for a couple more days anyway.'" --"It's wrong." said the teacher. I refrained from talking back to her, even though I was Very offended with that woman's tone. wink She says "I" have an aditude. Hee hee! Does anyone agree with me for the test thing?

Some teachers are biased as to what the answer is, coming up with their own anwers as they go. Some teachers get their asnwers from a book. Some teachers, ( the good ones) know that in some cases there can be more than one answer, and are willing to accept any one of those answers, as long as they're well supported with points form the novel/poem/essay/ etc..

I dislike such questions - it's putting a boolean value on a subjective opinion.

well this might be off topic but not really...in a way so please forgive me....anyway i just found out that my math teacher is a 5th degree black belt and he is a zen buddist monk!!! this guy is like only 26-28. i guess he grew up in a monestary his whole life in half moon bay.he even has his own do-jo there too...well actually it's his and his fathers. i was shoked when he told me so then i had to see if it was true and i got online and i looked it all up and i found the monestary he went to and i found the do-jo.the do-jo is named after him too.
