{:The Dragon:} The masucline aspect of the ying yang motif, the Dragon is the symbol of imperial power, and linked heavily with the weather, especially wind and water. Also a symbol of power, luck and wisdom, unlike the dragons of the West, the dragons of the East are kind, known to protect others in times of need.
{ razz hoenix and Dragon:}
The Phoenix and the Dragon is another motif on the concept of ying and yang. Phoenix being the female aspect and the Dragon being the male aspect. Together they respresent harmony, as well as a good relationship between a man and a woman.
{:Red and Gold:}
Red is the good luck colour that is suppose to ward off evil. During the Lunar New Year it is not unusual to find homes decorated wtih gold and red to bring in good luck for the new year. It is also the colour worn on wedding days instead of white, because white is suppose to represent death and coldness.

{:Family:}
Treyz: The 'eldest' son, though eldest is a relative term since he is actually six years old and the only one who grows at a normal pace.
Cinderella (Cindy): She is a Hououza from the Magic Kingdom, and is the second child. The only girl in her family.
Triton: The third child, a Neko Koneko who is considered the baby of the family, though he's quite mature and willing for his age.
Wish: An angel Fluffy Cat, she is the oldest pet, and the wisest since her last growth, but she still deals with her mistakes as a teen.
Lily Mist: My second Fluffy Cat only she is a fairie. Friendly, playful and perhaps a bit mischievious, Lily is really good at heart.
Raven: Raven is my... shoulder demon to lack of a better term. His current status is the result of pissing off some higher demon lord.
Trisha: The first Second to enter the household, she's a shy one, but sweet.
Yue and Yukito: They are the second and third Seconds to arrive, they are also the first twins to exist in the home.
Mia: Mia was the youngest until the twins came along, she is a enchanted doll brought to life.
{:Wandering Blooms Inn:}
Wandering Blooms is where Kara originally lives, and where most of the interesting things take place. Though it is a place separate from the world of Seconds.

{:Ryu's Room:}
He shares it down below with Feng his twin.

Even though he's not a jewerlly person this dragon charm seems to suit him. He really needs more things though...
 His pet fish, you'd think he would get the angelic one, but this one looked more dragon like for him.
 His mother gave this to him, and even though he doesn't really drink, it is always nice to serve other beverages in it when he's meeting land people.
 Ryu's first and official weapon! He got this from Donovan after being tested.
 This was given to Ryu, it has the give of allowing those who cannot breath underwater that ability.

{:Start of a Legend:}
Children, like the customers that come into the inn, come in often, though unlike the customers they stay here, for how long is anyone's guess after adulthood. As both Triton and Cindy grow into teenage hood I came across two more vases. Most would not call them twins, for they were nothing alike one another, in either colour, nor shape, gender or symbol. So why call them twins? Because they symbols are too similar, though different at the same time.
There is a story that hovers at the edge of a memory, of a friend long ago telling the story of the Phoenix and Dragon. How together they represent harmony. It is for certain that these two belong with each other, and their names Ryu and Feng are important. Though I wonder now looking at Ryu, why a Japanese name? I think there was a reason for that, but it's another memory lost.
It could be just the mother in me, thinking of great expectations, however.... I think these two will be up to great things in the future.

{:Arriving twins:}
Worklog April 30th, 2006
Since the twins arrival I've been meaning to put in more observations but I keep getting interrupted. Ah well.... that's the way things work I suppose. They perhaps came out three days ago, even now time has flow quite fast since then. Well since they've arrived. Ryu and Feng are most certainly twins, I don't doubt that now seeing them with my own eyes. Both black haired and brown eyed, they are adorable sights to behold. The hair and eyes though is there the similarity ends. Ryu is perhaps a shade darker than Feng.
There are also markings on their tails, but it's quite faint right now so it's hard to make out. They have been taken to living in pools and founations rather than their vases, which is just as well it's kind of cramp in there I think. The only time they go in is to take a little trip for lessons.

{:An Ordinary Day:}
Wandering Blooms, the name given to an inn found out in the middle of nowhere, with the only other estabishment close by a schoolhouse which looked to be equally out of place. It was an inn for travellers and wanderers, but more importantly it was the home of the Winters family. The home of one young woman and her unusual (to some insane) amount of children. Most could not fantom taking care of so many children, and for Kara the only way was through a more or less general routine. One that had been carried out within the inn since the she first arrived in Gaia.
And so the inn did, as the routine grew and adapted to the amount of children. Lessons for the children were loosely held in the morning (unless some were fortunate enough to have a school to go to.) The inn would open, lessons would begin, the afternoon was left for spare time unless a customer came in.
So it was, on that particular day, it was like any other day in the inn. Kara was balancing books, while somehow dictating some potion recipe or the like to Cindy. Trisha was out at one of the groves to sketch, while Helen and Mia clinged to their mother. Triton though... Triton was practicing his weapon work near the fountain, and that is perhaps where it started.
Triton had begun to practice blade weapons, specifically a sword. As usual his practice would be in the sunroom, what was new were the mer twins. Feng and Ryu had only begun to explore the world outside of their fountain and spring home. And to be honest nothing interested them more than watching their brother Triton go through his excerises. In a way it was the image of perfect balance on two legs. So when Triton began his excerises not with a staff, but with a sword, they were enthralled.
He started out slow, swing the blade in a series of moves, slow and deliberate. The sunlight glittered against the blade surface as Triton danced with the sword. Ryu most of all watched in earest. The little dragon merboy was always the first to be watching Triton. Though Feng was also interested, for some reason it caught Ryu's eye most of all.
The little mer child could nearly imagine as Triton sped up his moves, that his brother was fighting against some invisible opponent. As the elder boy kicked it up a knot, Ryu was sure as he watched the blurred movements of the blade that Triton was fighting against many opponents and not just one.
Ryu could almost imagine himself being the one to fight against those imaginary opponents. Almost, since he had fins instead of legs, but how he wanted to be the one to hold a blade just like that one. To Ryu it was a like a dance, though a deadly one at that.
It is a wonder how the little things, how a simple routine can effect the choice of another. How an ordinary day, like any other can influnce the path of the future.

{:The Two Persons:}
Worklog August 10th, 2006
The twins I find... are strange, which isn't odd really, all the children are unique in their own way. However there is something about these twins that just seem a bit stranger than most. Perhaps it is because I had their older brothers the angel-mage twins before them, so I had assumed I knew how to look after a set of twins. Those reading this entry perhaps is wondering at this point what I'm referring to.
When Yue and Yukito were created though twins, they were also quite different. They had times where they did their own things, but they were also quite close. The mertwins are the same way, they are different even though they are twins, but the one thing they do that the first set didn't is that there are times I swear they act as one person.
Normally they don't, they are techically their own person. Feng would rather go running about (whether or not she can make it back to the water in time before her legs turn back into a tail). Ryu would rather just stay where he is, he's pleased in staying though he likes to adventures too. But sometimes, when the two are doing the same physical excerise they are almost like one person.
Yukito told me of a curious thing that occured on their first day of class. Like I had mentioned in Feng's journal I asked Tracy as a favour to take them on as students. Putting them neatly into the fighter class, well regardless of their strength with magic or not he got them to run laps as a warm up. Naturally doing a physical excerise the two could not keep their legs for a long period of time, much less to finish a lap. What became odd though was them transforming at the same time and getting to their feet at the same time. At first I had thought that maybe it was just that used up energy at the same rate, but the next excerise really got me thinking. Appearingly Tracy got this bright idea to make them fight an enchanted mirror which fights back. According to Yukito the two actually *fought* in unison, without even trying their punches and kicks were exactly alike... at least until Feng turned back into a mermaid and accidently whacked the mirror with her fin.
I don't think they meant to fight alike, it was just something that came naturally. Though I wonder why it only happens when they do something like run or fight? They do not finish each other's sentences like some people would expect of twins. They certainly do not have the same tastes in food and I'm pretty sure when I watch them eat they don't put food in their mouths at the same time.
So what is it about this activity that makes it unique?

{:This Is Akward:}
Worklog Oct 7th, 2006
The one thing about raising mer children, is that one must get over the fact they are antomy different, more so than say angels or nekos. After all, for all angels or nekos may not be human, they do for all purposes look and work as a human do minus the fact that they have a few extra body parts. The Mer folk though are different, they lack a body part, in place of a different body part. Or as the case maybe they lack everything from the hips down and is replaced by a fish's tail.
I'll admit now that there has been, challenges in raising children who need water constantly, and who cannot go where their brothers and sisters can. Though they did solve this wonderfully on their own by getting Minty to teach them how to turn their tails into legs, but I'm sure it'll be many more months before they can fully master that ability.
However it brings to question this, which I found out recently. Jima, and Haru, are the grandchildren of Fluffy, whom is babysitting the mer twins as punishment for attacking Triton. Feng, who normally talks more like an older child, had a case of misprountion when explaining what a squid was.
Now to save myself the embarassment of explaining again, let me put it this way. Ryu wanted to know why he didn't have certain body parts like Haru or any other little boys with legs. It did beg a good question on how mers go on with theri business, but the question was a shocking one. I had simply assumed that Ryu and Feng would gained those parts after they cast their spell. In truth, I dont' know if they gained those parts are not, it had never occured to me to check, but I suppose that if they do... I'll know.
And if I find out, I'm sure all hell is going to break loose.

{:Growing Older:}
Worklog March 11th, 2007
It's sad how it seems like I have no longer the time to continious write in these worklogs, and it show. Then again things have been relatively peaceful around the inn and home in general. It will be nearly a year since the mertwins were born and even though they are not adults like Trisha and the mage twins I am not worried. For there is a different challenge in raising them that wasn't there before.
It's the fact that the twins are children, normally I've never had children Seconds, they've always grown to teen, but now their growth has slowed down. I'm grateful really, it gives me more time to teach them things. For example the twins have been spending a small amount of time with Donovan of all people. Though Donovan has been trying to ingerate himself into the family, he does so through the younger children.
Still they are getting older, chronologically speaking. It shouldn't make me feel old but it does, because all of these children will grow up and start their own lives. That in itself makes me a bit sad.

{:First Thoughts:} Entrylog April 4th, 2007
I find it difficult now to write down my own thoughts, I guess because I take every day, day by day without that much of a care. Except when Feng is up to her usual mischief, though I hear she pounced Fluffy with her questions.
It makes me wondered though if Fluffy will continue to be our babysitter. Now that we're teens we techically don't need looking after, but it wouldn't be fun to not talk to Haru and Jima (yes even Jima) anymore. Though it would be akward knowing it would be many years before they reached our physical age. Though if Triton and Were could do it, I suppose we could too. This also means we get more lessons though Donovan seems to want to take part in the education since it has to do with fighting. Yukito says that Donovan wants all of us to have a proper education.
He sounds like a Father doesn't he doing that? Not that I would call Donovan Father that would be just weird if you ask me. Though Alzaela I think does, but she's little so she can get away with that I suppose. I have no idea what the future will bring, but I'll face it head on.
