{:The Phoenix:}

Though originally to have both a male and female phoenix, over time the phoenix's gender has been blurred to be femmine, for the reason of pairing it with the dragon. She appears in times of peace and wealth, but hides during dark times. A symbol of the south and of the powers of the Empress, to have the symbol phoenix in your house is to say that the people who live there are loyal and honest. Linked with vitrue and grace, it also has the ability to be reborn time and again.

The Phoenix and the Dragon is another motif on the concept of ying and yang. Phoenix being the female aspect and the Dragon being the male aspect. Together they respresent harmony, as well as a good relationship between a man and a woman.

Red is the good luck colour that is suppose to ward off evil. During the Lunar New Year it is not unusual to find homes decorated wtih gold and red to bring in good luck for the new year. It is also the colour worn on wedding days instead of white, because white is suppose to represent death and coldness.

In the world of Gaia Kara owns an inn called Wandering Blooms and is a part time potions maker. On top of her task as a caretaker for creatures called the Neko Koneko. Her family is huge and still growing at times.

Which makes for a very chaotic house, but she loves it none the less. Though her pets might beg to differ.

{: Feng's Room:}

Like the other twins, Feng shares her 'room' to lack a better term with Ryu. Their room was a hotspring until Kara made it not so hot (don't ask how she did that). It is connected through an underwater passage to the ground above where there is a fountain just for them to play in.



I'm sure as people have noticed, Feng likes to play with her hair, so it's only natural she would be given a set of chopstick hairclips.



A lantern for the room she shares with Ryu in the school, it's quite pretty, though I'm told one could store souls in it... I'm not sure if that is true or not.



Feng's battle fans given to her by Donovan when she became old enough.


Feng's pet angel fish, her pet likes to nibble on her fingers.


Said to have the power to allow people to breath under water. Not that Feng needs that!

The vases are changing in a way, or maybe that's because they are reacting now. Like the vases before them have, only... bubbles now instead of feathers. That's what happens when you look after merchildren.

There isn't much to say about this stage, though Feng's twin's dragon seems to have lost its shine I think. Perhaps I am imagining things, after all one never knows with vases and memories.

{:Same and Yet Not:}

Personality wise I'm starting to find that the twins are quite different from one another. It is not that they are so different that they cannot get along, but rather it is... perhaps it is what makes them work so well together? I'm not sure if that made any sense. Of course they cannot be completely different otherwise they wouldn't get along at all and they are close to on another.

How do I explain this right? They are both the same, but it is the extent they show it where they were different. For example both love to play, Ryu would play ball with Yukito all the time, however Feng is playful to the point where she's mischievious. Like the time she kissed Ayce, Steal's demon cat on the nose while playing hide and seek in the water.

They're both curious, there is little doubt about that, however Feng is curious to the point where she seems to disregard all danger, while Ryu is more likely to take things with caution. In fact Feng fell into the vase of another Second because of her curiousity.

It's hard to tell what is going through their heads at times....

{:First Steps:}

Out of all of the children ever looked after none of them started out as a baby, which in a way is interesting, but I digress... Since all (or most) of the children begin their lives as well children, there has never really been issues with things like first steps (though we have had first words). So the past few days have been.... a very unique experience for those living in the inn.

It began when the twins took the first trip to magic school, like Trisha they had very little.. need to go to magic school, though they do have interest in it. Though not as much of an interest as watching Triton go through his exercises. At any rate, the twins had decided they wanted to go play with the other Seconds and their siblings, the ones that had two legs instead of fins.

In some ways it makes a lot of sense, one of Feng's own friends, Ayce who is a cat demon does not like water all that much. Truth be told I think he's a bit frightened of it, so unless Feng is sitting on the pool's edge he rarely comes about and the two can't play. So both twins agreed for whatever reason, that they wanted to be able to walk on land like the other Seconds.

Not to say they disliked being mer children, in fact they quite enjoy the water a lot, especially if you leave toys on to bottom of thier swimming area for them to find. I think they played enough treasure hunter games to last a lifetime.

Anyhow Minty decided to give them that chance at school and taught them a spell in which they could walk on land, at least until they hit water again and their legs turn back into tails. The only problem is now is learning how to walk. You never quite realize how unbalance we are as creatures until you see those two try and walk for the first time.

More than half of the time there was more falling than walking. Despite the fact that they can't walk far, they're still pretty underfoot too. There's also a small part of me that worries about what those two are going to be up to once they had get those legs working right.

{:Another Adventurer?:}

There are times I think that Feng is going to become an adventurer like her brother Triton... only worse because it's going to be in her blood and very nature. The way she always wants to go about and explore something and nearly get into trouble.

I think.... I shall have to start making sure she has a weapon... Ryu too, because in his nature to stick by his sister (something odd I've noticed), he's going to get pulled along for the ride poor boy.

Though unfortunately the two had not made any new friends yet, or rather Feng hasn't found anyone but her brothers to carry her around for now. Someday one would suppose she would like to be able to walk, but the requirements to being able to ask such a spell is not within her reach just yet.

{:Off to School:}

The twins are becoming a handful to handle, though more Feng is than Ryu. Feng has more energy than I think she knows what to do with. Not to mention they have shown quite a lot of interest in what Triton has been working on (or rather his excerises). There is currently no place within the Second School that teaches fighting.. well there was a teacher, but I hardly know him. I can't teach them, which leaves only one choice... and that is to ask Tracy to take them on as students.

Normally this wouldn't be a problem, after all Tracy has taught Triton even now as Triton is adjusting to adulthood. However there are several problems with this, first being the fact the twins can't remain as land walking people for long, the second being they also need to learn how to fight within the water as well as outside of it. The final problem though I am asking Tracy to look after the twins... specifically Feng. It's not that Feng is out of control (most of the time), but rather the fact she just has way too much energy.

Somehow I feel like I owe Tracy one for taking the twins on. Not to mention it's been hectic trying to get everything set up. Since the twins will be offically students (abid part time students), they are being moved into the dorms. Which required a bit of magic and a bit of changing around to suit them. For the first time since they were born the two are being put into separate rooms, but because of how they are... I put a door between their rooms.

I don't think they're quite ready to be separated yet....

{Lady in the Mirror}

When people think mermaids, they often think of those graceful dancers of the sea, beautiful and to a point very vain and possessive. At least the mermaids of traditional stories, not including the few kind hearted ones that come from fairytales. Yet over all mermaids are beauitful, they spend their carefree days caring about their hair and looks, and they wish for nothing else. Granted those are all stereotypes, and nothing like any of the mermaids that exist in the Second world, so it shouldn't be a surprise that Feng would be everything a mermaid normally wasn't.

She is cute though.

A cute hellion as some might call her.

You see, Feng was hyper, adventurous and well rough at times, or rather most of the time. She, out of the two twins was the most likely to get into trouble or jump head first into danger. It was just the kind of person she is, she had been like that since a very young age. Always getting into trouble, trying to get out of her pool of water even though she couldn't walk, and falling into other Second vases. So it came no surprise that the she wanted, just like her brother Ryu to learn how to fight. What better way to get rid of all that extra energy than to do physical activity?

And yet.... there were times that Feng did act like a mermaid, or rather like a lady. You see, the only time Feng was calm and collective when she was tending to her hair oddly enough. Feng was blessed with long black hair, much longer than people realize, for it was done up in an enlaborate hairstyle.

On some days, when she thinks no one is looking Feng can be found in front of a mirror combing out her black locks, carefully arranging them into styles as elegantly as any lady. Using the hairpins given to her as a gift. Though many know of her fetish for hair, not many except for Ryu know about this quiet time she has with herself.

What she sees in that mirror is unknown but it is probably the image of a lady not yet grown.
