Species: Actias luna
Common Name: Luna Moth, or Giant Silkworm Moth
Description: Luna Moths are huge moths, with a wingspan of four and a half inches. They have a white body, pinkish legs, and huge pale green wings. The hindwings have eyespots and long tails.
Stages: Catapiller, Cacoon, Luna moth!
Habitat: The Luna moth occurs in the forested areas of North America, ranging from Canada to Mexico. They prefer trees such as the hickory, walnut, sumacs, and persimmon.
Diet: Lots and lots of leaves. They'll eat the leaves of trees and bushes namely: Sweetgum Black cherry, black willow, black walnut, white oak and more.
Predators: Owls, certain beetles (they eat the catapillers), and the bald faced hornet.
Fascinating information: The Luna moth is a fascinating creature. There are several traits in particular that are simply awesome. Luna moths are wild silk worms, their cacoons can be unraveled and eventually woven in to silk.
Adult luna moth's live about a week, mainly because they don't eat at all. They live only to mate, and produce about 100-200 eggs. Depending on climate there can be several generations in a year.
Female adult luna moths use a pheromone system for mateing. They release a scent and males will follow it to the female. They aren't too picky about who they mate with. The females will mate with the first male they find.

Tara-chan is an artist, with admittedly not a lot of time. She once had a commission shop but that is on a long hiatus while she is focusing on other things. So, this is the only place you can get art from the one, the only Tara ******. In more serious points of view, I still need a bunch of gold for this and I'm offering D-corp parents a way to help me and get those wonderful photographs ready for grandma and grandpa. I'm offering commissions, all full color.
