Cornelius, while being hailed as a genius and as the future of rock and roll by many, is also just as interested in design, fashion, video, conceptual and pop art, and live extravaganzas (there will be no less than five music videos for Point). His performances incorporate a multimedia blowout complete with 3-D lights, video and kitsch gimmicks like karate spacemen and fantasy apes. He contributed an art DVD piece from ‘Point’ to The Barbican’s JAM exhibition earlier this year which was part of London’s Tokyo Life festival. He is involved with every aspect of his own record designs as well as the abundance of other merchandise on offer (mainly in Japan) such as the limited edition DIY cardboard turntable, watches, and even a pair of headphones which was included in with the original Japanese release of Fantasma.

I want the original Japanese release of Fantasma. crying

I just want the headphones.

I got the Five Point One DVD today which has the videos for Point of View Point, Smoke, Drop, Drop - do it again, Another View Point, Bird Watching at Inner Forest, I Hate Hate, Fly, Tone Twilight Zone and From Nakameguro to Everwhere. I was planning on watching it later tonight.

It also came with a remix CD by a bunch of no-name composers which was heinous for the most part.

I did listen to Point today. I'm uncertain about it. I think I like Fantasma better but I'll give Point another whirl again tomorrow.

Do you ever find Cornelius' singing 'Ahhhhh' all the time annoying?

I sometimes do. You can always spot a Cornelius track because he does that.

Wow, I just saw on this website: http://www.artskool.biz/jem/index.html that Cornelius and UNKLE hooked up to do "Ape Shall Never Kill Ape". I'm psyched. I know I've heard that song before, but I can't quite remember how it went.

I don't listen to him enough. I'd like to hear more of his music, though.

I gave Point another go again this afternoon and it's really quite good, so I don't think I'll be selling it anytime soon. I remember the first 5 tracks the most, especially Another View Point, which follows Drop.

The transition between Smoke and Drop is excellent.

I'm watching the Point DVD, which is PVs. I love it! It's so cool.

I love the PV for Smoke.
