 Israel hopped up the stairs two at a time, her sketchbook in one hand and her portfolio in the other. She was late! She hoped Xel wouldn't be too upset. She seemed kinda moody sometimes. Giggling a bit at that thought, she gave her head a bit of a toss to get some of her hair out of her eyes. This evening would prove to be very interesting she hoped.
Half walking, half jogging, Israel hurried down the hallway to Sora's door. She really was grateful to Sora for being so generous tonight. She'd definitely have to make it up to him later. Finally arriving, she knocked on the door with her foot and waited.

 The door opened swiftly as Xel poked his head out looking both ways down the hall before snatching Isreal by the arm and yanking her inside. "Get in here quick." He said softly, after makin sure that Issy was safely inside, Xel quickly locked the door.
There were already smells of food cooking on the stove. He turned giving Issy a side long glance of approval. "Still has cute as a button." He said softly brushing past to the kitchen unit. Once inside he checked on the food. There were a few posts boiling some such dish and a wok where he began oiling down and shoving some fresh vegetable within.
After securing the stove he looked up to Issy again. "So you ready for some home cooked food?"

Israel blinked as the door opened unexpectedly. She started to greet Xel cheerfully, but was suddenly grabbed and yanked into the room. She turned in time to see Xel bolt the door shut and frowned in amusement.
"I thought... Sora said to keep the door unlocked," she said, setting her portfolio down next to Sora's desk. She straightened and took a deep breath of all the wonderful smells. She giggled at Xel's compliment as she brushed past her. She couldn't help but find it odd how Xel always managed to find a way to touch her whenever they were in each other's presence.
"I'm always ready for some home cooked food. Growing up all we ate was take out. It got old really fast," she replied, following behind Xel to the kitchen. "Mmm... it smells divine!" she smiled happily.

Xel scratched the back of his head frowning in thought. "I guess I was suppose to keep the door unlocked. So what he can knock..." He giggled tossing the vegetables on the walk. After they began to turn a soft brown he split them on two different plates.
He peeked under the lid of one pot a broth was simmering there. Taking a sip he was satisfied with the temperature and tossed in some potatoes, meat, carrots and onions not many as he hated them; but they always helped to add flavor to a dish. "This is something my mah loved to make. It's not all that fancy. Pot roast with freshly harvest potatoes straight from my mah's garden."
"Now then, while that cooks show me your art its part of our deal..." he reminded her as he looked over her to the sketch book.

"Ah! It sounds even more divine!" she grinned happily. Israel reached out and grabbed Xel's hand to pull her to the sofa.
"I would never cheat you," she giggled, handing Xel the sketchbook. "I hope you like them. There's a little bit of everything in there. Even a sketch of Sora sleeping. I need to take that one out soon and add it to my portfolio. I have a thing for collecting people. Well... I mean sketching people really," she babbled a bit nervously. It had been a while since she had spent a length of time alone with another girl. Saki didn't really count. They didn't really spend much time with each other and were so similar in personality that it wasn't much a stretch.

Xel chuckled being led by the hand. He flooped on the couch next to her taking the sketches eagerly. Each page was spent with care as he followed the lines with his hands almost as if reading them in braille. He stopped a while on the pic of Sora sleeping. Striking how she got him perfectly, he laughed at that then turned the page, any longer on that and she wouldn't be able to use it for her collection.
After going through the book, he set it aside and took Issy's hands in his own. "Draw me." He said more than asked. "I'd like to know how you see me...you know an artist's perspective."

Israel watched Xel closely as each page was given her explicit attention. Seeing a softness that only grew when she got to Sora's portrait, Israel forced her face to remain neutral in case she happened to look up. Deep in the pit of her stomach, she could feel the spark of jealousy reignite. If Xel hadn't left, she and Sora would have been together. She closed her eyes and turned her head a bit. 'Stop it Issie. Just because you're his girlfriend, it doesn't mean you own him,' she thought. Opening her eyes she turned her bright smile back to Xel's intent examination.
When Xel finished and took her hands in her own, Israel's smile softened and she looked down at their joined hands. She had nice hands. Gently squeezing the other girl's hands in her own, Israel felt a different kind of warmth when she looked back up into Xel's deep, violet eyes.
"If you hadn't said anything... I would have asked," she smiled softly. She gave Xel's hands another gentle squeeze, then rose from the couch to grab a pencil out of her portfolio. She quickly returned to the sofa, turning slightly so she could get a good view of Xel as she pulled her sketchbook into her lap.
"Just relax. This may take a few," she smiled again, flipping her book to a blank page. Then she looked up and allowed her silvery-green eyes to absorb Xel's features.

Xel felt strangely odd being around Isreal it wasn't as if she were a bad person but the two of them seemed to have a common interest where Sora was concern. Xel couldn't help but chuckle slyly, "You know, I've been thinking. You are in the same position I once was." He didn't bother to go further in explaination leaving it to Iss.
He got up from where he was to check the food. "Its better if you draw me in my environment. I'll be a while so feel free to get my best feature. My eyes." He said softly, staring her way a while. 'This girl isn't half bad.' He thought as he looked away returning his attention to the food.

"I agree," Israel smiled brightly, hopping up and following Xel to the kitchen. She set her sketchbook down on the counter and leaned over it as she put pencil to paper. As she flicked her eyes between Xel and the portrait, her mind buzzed softly with her vague words.
Putting the final touches on Xel's portrait, Isreal really looked at it. Xel looked so comfortable standing in front of the stove, reaching out to stir the broth of the pot roast. Her green eyes followed the lines of Xel's face. Smiling softly, she had to agree that Xel's best feature were her eyes. Aside from her large violet eyes, long hair, and gentle facial features, Israel realized that Xel wasn't very feminine in appearance otherwise. She lacked the certain curves that would make her a very gorgeous young woman. She found herself wondering what it was about Xel that Sora found so attractive.
"I'm finished," she smiled, looking back up into those gorgeous violet eyes.

Xel chuckled coming from the kitchen with a plate of vegetables some roast, and a bowl of stew and potatoes. He set it on the coffee table since Sora had not general table. Returning to the kitchen he gather some plates and silverware then returned. "Good cause I'm finished as well. I'll look at your drawing when we finish dinner. Its not elegant but its home cooked just like mahma used to make." He clinked a spoon against glass. "Dinner is served."
Reaching out a hand with the other hand behind his back. "Madame, your seat awaits." He winked escorting her to the coffee table, setting a cushion down on the floor he let her situate herself before serving her food. Vegetables, macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, pot roast swimming in stew, soft fluffy biscuits. Where'd all this come from or had he kept some of the food hidden? Yep Xel never cooks a full meal in front of people generally getting the easier dishes out of the way so he can take extra care of the larger delicate dishes.
After serving Iss he began fixing his own plate and sat down next to her. Hands clapped together in prayer he said grace then began to eat. "Give me your worst madame...how is it?"

"Who needs elegant?" she smiled brightly as she watched her set everything out. Her stomach began to growl softly and her mouth started to water. It looked as delicious as it smelled. When Xel reached a hand out to her, her smiled faltered a moment. Madame? That was an odd thing for her to call her. But she quickly moved sit down on the cushion she had placed on the floor for her and watched hungrily as Xel served them both. After grace had been said, she immediately dug in and closed her eyes happily.
"Mmmm!" she managed around a mouthful of pot roast. "Oh Xel... this is so wonderful!" she exclaimed when she was finally able to swallow. She smiled as she continued to dig in, glancing up every now and then to look at Xel. She felt confused. What had started out as a girl's night was oddly beginning to feel more like a date. What was even more confusing was the warm nervous feeling that Israel felt in down in her stomach.

Xel nodded in response to her compliment, but then again he never really needed a compliment to know he could cook. He'd been doing it for as long as he could walk, his mother made sure of that.
As they ate, the silence began to grate on Xel's nerves but ever so often he'd glance in Israel's way noting that she was looking at him. He kept himself discrete and decided to let her check him out for a bit. He figured she was probably confused about his actions toward her, they were at best more something a guy would do not a girl...even if she were lesbian.
After a while he began to get a little unsettled with her staring. Setting his fork down, he turned and reached both hands out to clasp her cheeks. He pulled her forward slowly, almost in fashion of giving a kiss but as she would think they were going to do so, he'd bump his forehead with her's and chuckle slightly. "Something on your mind, Isis?" His nickname for her.

Israel looked up when she heard Xel's fork clink against the dish as she set it down. She started to smile, when Xel suddenly reached out and placed her hands on her cheeks to pull her closer. When it looked as if she was going to kiss her, a bright red flush colored her cheeks. A protest was just on her lips, when Xel suddenly bumped her forehead against hers. She managed a small smile at the new nickname, knowing now that she had used it more than once that it would stick. With their foreheads pressed together all Israel could see were her beautiful eyes and she could feel her warm breath against her lips.
"I'm just..." she paused. She didn't want to offend Xel, but she was terribly confused. "I'm just a bit... confused," she admitted softly, dropping her eyes downwards.

Xel knew what this was about. He chuckled softly before sitting up fully and letting Isis have her space back. "Confused? A lot of people have been confused about me lately." He said sofly.
He shifted slightly to face her a serious expression on his face. "What are you confused about?" He moved closer to her, grazing the back of his hand against her cheek. "Is it the way I act?" He used his other hand to wrap around her waist bringing their bodies closer. "Is it something you feel when I'm around?" Bumping his head softly to her forehead he looked into her eyes, "Is it my eyes, the way I look at you so deeply? " Caressing her bottom lip with his thumb he allowed his true voice to come through a deeper voice then that of a girl, soft and sexy at that. "I wonder if I kissed you right now, would you return the kiss...?" he said purring softly as he watched her.

Israel released the breath she hadn't realized she had been holding when Xel pulled away. She frowned softly at her reply, worried that she had offended her somehow. She was about to apologize, when she spoke again. She could feel her pulse begin to race as Xel reached out to gently caress her cheek, then pulled her body against hers. She was sure it was about to burst at Xel's teasing caress on her lip. And then suddenly... her voice changed. Blushing furiously, her heart racing and her mind spinning at dizzying speeds, trying to wrap itself around what was happening, Israel unconciously placed her hands on... his? shoulders.
Xel... wasn't a girl? She was a boy? She tried to say something, but couldn't. She needed a moment to think, but couldn't. Not with him so close to her. Not when she really did want to kiss him. She was more confused than ever now.
