Emori hugged his tail to his chest as a breeze ruffled his fur. It was a nice day, but the wind seemed to be gradually picking up as he ventured further into the woods. He knew he wasn't supposed to go too far from home, but watching Tavok train could only hold his attention for so long before he was distracted by the mystery of the woods. He had decided to walk along the stream this time, to keep from getting lost, but the problem now was that he was getting lonely. "Hello?" he called out, hoping perhaps that the trees would answer.

Sitting against a tree nearby Conor flipped the page of his book, his ears flicking lightly as he heard a voice. "Um.... hello?" he called back, placing his book down, voice sounded familiar...

Emori's ears perked at the response. Looking around, he tried to decipher where it had come from...he wandered about a bit, but was careful to keep the stream in sight. Although he was oblivious to the dangers of shouting out into the woods, he was still smart enough to stay close to the running water. "Hello? Are you there? Who are you?" he asked in rapid succession. That voice...

Standing Conor walked towards the stream, the voice was close, but where... Conor however was completely oblivious to any danger of the woods. xD The guy sounded like he was freaking though, or at least hyper... who did he know who was hyper? "Forgive me, my name is Conor" he announced, his manners taking control.

The lightbulb went off in Emori's head. Conor, that's who it was! He knew he had recognized that voice, he had just been having trouble putting a name and face to it. Bounding out from behind a tree, he spotted Conor and closed in on him. "Conor! It's me, Emori!" he said, coming up from behind him perhaps a little too quickly, but full of enthusiasm.

"Emori...." Conor repeated, "oh yeah! The guy who gave me the flower" he said, though heard someone behind him. Darting around Conor squeeked as Emori was suddenly behind him, rearing up in suprise Conor fell into the stream, water splashing everywhere. "Gah! Cold, cold, wet, cold..." he muttered, clambering to his hooves and stepping out of the water.

Giggling, Emori was glad that he was remembered. "Yeah...I'd give you another, but I don't see too many out here in the woods, they're mostly in the mead..." he paused and watched in arm as Conor fell backwards into the stream, instintively jumping away from the splash. Nearing again as Conor stepped out, he extended his hand in an effort to help. "Woah, are you ok? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to startle you...you're lucky the water is calm here!" he said, his eyes wide, staring at the poor, dripping boy.

Taking the hand thankfully Conor shook lightly in an attempt to dry off some, only succeeding in ruffling out his longer hair. Sighing he smiled lightly, "it's okay, I'm fine..." looking down the pleasent smile suddenly turned into a slight pout as he held up his now drenched book. "Awwww..." he whined softly, shoulders slumping. Then he remembered he was in the presence of company and needed to cheer up. "Um, it's okay" he said, polite smile in place now, "I'll just find a spot of sun where it can dry" he said quickly, looking around for a break in the trees.

Pulling Conor up onto dry land, he pouted as well as he saw the drenched book. "Awe, I'm sorr...yeah, we can dry it out!" Nodding vigorously, he looked back over his shoulder. "Want to take it to my house? We can set it outside there...and it's getting windy out, you might catch the chills, we should go somewhere warm" he said, almost walking off with Conor's hand still in his, as if the boy had already accepted his invitation.

"Ah-" before Conor could get the word in he was tugged along by his new friend, at least he hoped he was, but then this was only their second encounter. Looking down at his book he couldn't help but pout, he hoped the pages wouldn't stick, or the ink run... "how far is it to your place?" he asked, his eyes falling down to their still joined hands, his head tilting lightly in slight confusion.

Emori smiled to himself and tugged Conor along, apparently taking his slightly stuttering silence as a yes. "It's just on the outside if these woods, not far now, just gotta follow the stream" he said, feeling rather in charge for once. "I think we're almost there!" Indeed, the trees were growing less dense, and soon they were standing in the dazzling sunlight before a small cabin.

Conor blinked as the brush that blocked the sun cleared away, who could have guessed he was so close to Emori's home. He had just wondered into those woods, thinking they'd be a nice place to nap. "It looks nice" he said, glancing over the small cabin.

The cabin sat at the end of a little path that faded into the woods. Emori was soon tugging Conor down it, past numerous dead tree trunks that filled the yard. The trunks were filled with hack marks, as if somebody had spent their time attempting to convert the trunk into saw dust. "This is it!" Emori announced, stopping just outside the door, intent on getting Conor inside to dry him off. "If you see a maniac with a sword, don't worry, that's just my brother, he won't hurt you." Stifling his giggles was a skill he needed to work on.

"M-Maniac???" Conor asked, unable to qualm the sound of worry in his voice, he'd never been around anyone who could be a maniac before! Espicially not one with a sword!!! Well, guess it was safe to say he knew what happened to those trees now, he just hoped Emori's brother didn't practice on centaurs....

Emori couldn't help but chuckle at the boy's reaction, knowing how kind his brother really was. "Well, he just likes his sword is all, but he's nice, so don't worry" he said as he pushed open his front door and led Conor inside. "You can put your book on the window sil, it'll get lots of sunlight there! Do you want a blanket?" He was eager to put his hospitality to work.
