I got the idea for this from a comment by... the guy dressed like Spider Jerusalem, I temporarily forget your new-er screenname. Anyway, thanks.
Does anyone have any reading or tips or examples on this, particularly on the creating side, but also on the inoculation side? I'd obviously rather not be specific as to what I want to make (other than to say that it wouldn't be harmful to anyone here), but other than that?
Maybe or maybe not specifically stuff in sigil form- I'll take any information you have anyway- but I need something innocuous-seeming that primarily works online and doesn't require direction past the "statement of intent" stage.

Grant Morrison actually, but then he's said that he's Spider in the past. For even more existential fun, I've changed the name of this account to the secret identity of King Mob, the protagonist of Morrison's The Invisibles.
So, viral signs. Not one hell of alot to say about them really. Morrison briefly covers it in his Pop Magic essay. The basic idea is of an image, a logo, that calls to mind certain values and association. Everything from the Superman s-shield to the Starbucks siren, even the eight rayed symbol of chaos we use for this guild is a viral sign. As far as creating them, make a logo and invest it with meaning, create a context for it and let it go. The most obvious way is to create a corporate entity.
Innoculation isn't something that I've really considered or read anything about, but awareness would be the big one. Be mindful of what you're seeing and what it's influence on you is. You don't need to be a magician to create a viral sign, most of them likely aren't created with anything approaching magical intent, so you don't need to be magically attuned to innoculate yourself. Culture jamming, reading Adbusters, and other general kinds of dissidence are great ways to actively repel the effects of viral signs.
Edit: Well s**t, only the first part is actually up on his site, I'll transcribe that part of it from The Book of Lies a bit later for you. xp
