Class Syllabus

Class: Drama I ( Beginners )
Teacher: Duke Silverwing

The purpose of this beginners class is to help young students by teaching them the basics of Drama:

• Stage Craft
  
• Genres
  
• The difference between acting on Screen and on Stage
  
• Theatre Production
  

Assignments will be graded on completion, determination, and effort. Talent and capability are pluses, grading soley on that is unfar. Though in the likely event that a production is scheduled; talent, responsibility, and cabability is what I will be looking for in actors and staff members. If a student is failing my class, they will be taken out. This is not a required course, students are here because they want to be.

Classes are separated into two halves. The first half of the lesson is a visual lecture in volving a small video and a Q&A session, while the second half is used for classwork, meaning students will use what they learned. Between the halves there is a 30 minute break that will be used for whatever the students wish. Classes run 2 and a 1/ 2 hours long ( this is including the break ).

Fifteen minutes of silent reading will be done at the beginning of class while I grade homework and prepare for the lecture.

Classroom Rules

• No running inside the ballroom.
  
• All homework assignments are to be turned in during class.
  
• All assignments are to be turned in by the end of class , unless otherwise noted.
  
• Don't leave class without permission
  
• Do not take equipment out of the classroom unless otherwise given permission.
  
• No yelling inside the ballroom.
  

Supply List

• 1 binder w/ dividers ( for notes and work, there will be a divider for each subject we will go over)
  
• extra paper
  
• 2 Pens
  
• 2 pencils
  
• 1 eraser
  
• 1 sharpener
  
• 1 blank notebook (class journal )
  
• 1 Sketchbook
  
• Reading Material ( what ever suits you )

Any art suppilies needed will be suppiled during class. Also in during stagecraft classes students please dress in old clothes you do not mind getting dirty.

In the case of misconduct, I will follow the Three Strike Rule:

Strike 1: A warning.
Strike 2: Another warning followed with an extra homework assignment.
Strike 3: A final warning along with a parent conference.
