As most of you know, Geneon got the rights to release Saiyuki RELOAD in North America. At AX, they also announced that they got the rights to GUNLOCK as well. As well, all of the characters will have new VAs, for better or worse (because if you're anything like me, the ADV dub makes you cringe). As for release dates, I believe it was early 2005 for RELOAD and 2006 for GUNLOCK. I got the info from Spectre Anime's site, but if anyone has heard different, post it here! 3nodding Gensomaden Saiyuki Requiem (the movie), however, is going to released by ADV. The VAs will be the same as the ones used for Gensomaden, but as for a release date, I haven't heard. Any comments/more info to share? UPDATE!!!From Geneon's website: Saiyuki RELOAD DVD vol. 1/Artbox + vol. 1 - FEBRUARY 8, 2005

Oh, where to begin:
The pronounciations ("Lord Coogahhji!" gonk , and "Tenpoo" are a couple examples)
The VAs (Nii, although fittingly, if you know anything about RELOAD, sounds like a *****. Hakkai's voice... completely changes his character. "HOLY s**t!!!" ... stare ) A couple are good, but most of them make me want to rupture my eardrums.
The VA's timings are terrible. The ep. where the Ikkou storms Konran Tower is more than proof of that. It's embarassing.
And, as funny as some if it can be, what's with the freakin' gay jokes?! Especially that one exchange between Gojyo and Goku in ep. 2... would they REALLY call eachother 'faggots'? gonk
But that's just what I think. Here's to Geneon doing better with the dub for RELOAD than ADV did for Gensomaden.

I don't really mind the dubbs of the show that much at all. I like a bilingual dvd here and there. ADV films is the best.

Bilingual DVDs rock! ADV is good with the subs, but the dubs.... SUCK! This is my experience from the Samurai X: Reflection movie. (Though Requeim for meiji era patraits was really good, dub and sub. And Pretear ain't doing bad either.) I actually quite like ADV, even if some of the dubs suck. I have trouble getting anime off the internet, so I like how they bring out the DVDs.

Personally-
I LOVE the ADV dub. I bought Saiyuki for the english voices~ or else I was planning on just downloading them subbed for free.
I like the english because they changed some of the jokes to be more American and I could relate to them better- hilarious as all hell. I also think all of the four boys voices fit them so perfectly... I'm especially impressed with Sanzo's.
I'm so angry that Geneon ditched ADV's amazing voice actors... here's hoping their new ones won't be terrible... -__-
I've heard rumours Gojyo is going to sound like a surfer dude.

Soreyle Muraki I've heard rumours Gojyo is going to sound like a surfer dude. Are you serious? eek whee I dunno whether to laugh or cry. I wouldn't be too surprised. I have been told by close friends who are aware of my love of the series not to ever listen to the dubs. This scares me and makes me somewhat curious all at once. After 2 seasons and 76 eps (No, I'm still waiting to get Gunlock) you get used to the way they are and the way they talk. The idea of the dubs frighten my, especially if they're as terrible as I have heard people say they are.

Well, I've watched all of Gensomaden (all 12 volumes), and I rather like the voices they chose. Especially Gojyo's. He ain't no surfer, I can assure you. Now whether they'll stick with Illich Guardiola or not I can't say. He's got a very sexxy voice. blaugh heart

I like the current dub. Unfortunetly, now that Genon has the rights to Reload, they are sacking all the old VAs. So no more Illich.
The guy that might sound like a surfer dude is the new VA.
