The Adventures of Chibi Kratos

I created this little story idea based on a single picture I drew quite a while ago at the urging of my little sister. This is quite the strange piece of work, as it revolves completely around two other stories I've written but never published anywhere online due to the lack of time and effort on my part...

This storyfic as I like to call it, takes place within the entire storyline of the main book "Chibis, Inc." which explains completely how Kratos and Randi became friends and why exactly Kratos was assigned to Randi in the first place. "Chibis, Inc." was a story based on the picture I have on DevART entitled "Kratty's Kubicle", and which had astute popularity with my siblings.

HowEVER~ this very concept, such as the guardian chibis and the world warps, belong to me, even though many of the chibi characters do not. The humans that get assigned the chibis are real people, as I don't own them. It's a huge crossover of many games into reality, though I do own the concept. The Adventures of Chibi Kratos are just small smigens of what's really in the story, and I'm quite proud of what I have written.

Wish One: "Randi and Kratos - Dreams of another World"

Many wouldn't expect the 20 year old Randi to really be into things most young adults scorned once they turned 12, but then again, she didn't have many friends. Her life was dominated by forces out of her control, and since the World Warp, things had never been quite the same.

Randi looked up from her manga, reaching over to pick up a burrito. She took a bite, then became once again absorbed into her literature. It was very easy to distract her, even though she was intent on finishing this volume even if another World Warp was to occur.

She put her the manga back down, and placed the burrito back on it's plate, releasing a heavy sigh. The World Warp, which had occured roughly a year ago, made planet Earth into a very strange place. In the years prior, she had many things to deal with, but since things fell apart, so did the stressful areas of her life, thus leading Randi into a state of uselessness, in her own opinion.

With a few moments of thought, Randi finally finished off the burrito and placed the manga on a nearby table. She got up, stretched, lay back down, and pulled her blankets around her quickly, as she knew sleep was upon her. However, she didn't know that something else was, too. Fortunately for our story, Randi fell asleep pretty quickly.

"Is this the assignment?" a voice asked from underneath the sofa Randi was sleeping on. "This one?"

"That's right," a voice confirmed through a communication device. "Project #405A, Randi, AKA Ran-Chan. I hear from the boss that she's quite the handful, but you're the best with difficult jobs, Kratos."

Kratos gave a nod and replied, "Why thank you, I'll be sure to notify him on your current status with your assignment."

"B-But, Kratos!!"

The voice faded out into static, and the owner of the first voice crawled underneath the sofa until he fell into natural light from the window. The full moon displayed his face and all his features, namely fluffy flaming red hair. Kratos stood on his feet, turning to face Randi's visage as she slept. He was always adept at landing in spots during a human's usual sleeping period, though it was noted in the file that she didn't have a usual sleeping period. He was going to have a lot of work with this one. He could feel it all ready in his bones.

Kratos extended his beautiful blue wings and flew up to the top of the back of the sofa, landing to see Randi's face. Then he flopped out a file folder and looked at the first page.

"Randi, age 20. Older than the usual human for our work." he read aloud, noticing that Randi didn't hear his voice. Either she was a very hard sleeper, her dreams were deep, or he wasn't very loud to human standards of hearing. "Lonely. Family taken in the World Warp. Now lives most of life online. See Chibis, Inc. guide book section 3 for all needs."

Kratos heaved a sigh. Most humans only had a few basic needs to be met by an assigned Chibi Guardian, but he was assigned with what the ones back at the office would have called a "troubled human." He remembered life back in his home of ChibiTokyo and longed for it, wondering if he'd ever be able to go back. "That World Warp took your family," he told the sleeping Randi as he flipped off his tiny shoes. "It destroyed most of our world. We had to come here to fix the problems we started. Humans and chibis have been living side by side for two years now on Earth, but in reality, most haven't known. We work in secret. That's because of all of Earth knows about us, they will all want a chibi guardian, and not for guardian purposes. Humans tend to want to make us slaves..." Even though Randi couldn't hear him, he still went on, explaining himself. He was nervous enough, so a warm up speech for the morning was a wonderful idea.

He feared the morning and Randi's reaction. This one had what the boss reffered to as "frequent mood swings."

Wish Two: Morning Star

That morning wasn't exactly the most recouperative for Randi. She'd rolled over more than twenty times during the night, almost smushing her nearby guardian half of those times. When she finally opened her eyes to reveal the world around her, she just sighed once again and tried to forget it all.

"I had them," she said sadly to herself. "I had them again..."

Kratos peeked from behind the back of the sofa, sticking his red hair out where it could be seen. "Excuse me, ...Randi?" he asked, unsure about his assignment. He'd never been on an actual assignment on Earth, and in Chibi World he didn't need to be on these odd jobs. "I am Kratos, and I am your chibi guardian." Kratos was able to proclaim that so proudly, he thought he was cool.

Randi looked up to see Kratos, now sitting on the back of a sofa with a file of paperwork in his hands. "You're Kratos Aurion, aren't you?" she asked, reaching out a hand to him. "The Kratos Aurion."

"That's right," he said promptly, "Your guardian from Chibis, Inc."

She shook her head and laughed. "I'm dreaming again. A dream within a dream!" Randi proclaimed, lying her head back down. "Seriously, I haven't played Tales of Symphonia since the World Warp. Electronics don't work the same way anymore. But I remember Kratos Aurion and my online obsession with him..."

"What are you talking about?!" Kratos asked, showing off his blue wings has he started to float above her. "Some video game? You think I'm from a video game? No, I'm from the Chibi World which had a World Warp that interfered with the magnetic and astral fields of your world. That's why so many families are gone and electronics cease to work after one year of production." Kratos explained everything very simply, as he was not trying to fool, but befriend this human female. "I am your guardian to help you achieve your heartfelt wishes. Though I am new to Earth and the ways of humans, I can help you in whatever your heart desires."

Randi sat back up and looked at him. "You look so cuddly," she said with a smile, "And very cute." She reached up and pulled him down gently, curling him into her arms. "At the moment, I'm just lonely. I just want the company of someone understanding, you see?"

Kratos nodded and leaned into her chest. "Your file said much about you being lonely," he responded. "It's our fault the two worlds warped. Sadly, we can do nothing to bring the worlds together again and unite what has fallen." He looked up to see her, and all she did was smile. "What's wrong?"

"Kratos," Randi said, feeling tears develop, "Are you sure that some other person doesn't need your help?"

"There's a careful screening process," Kratos replied, "Only to which the most compatible matches for what is needed can be determined so well. It was developed by my boss when we fell onto Earth. Our race is naturally one of that serves another, and we naturally began to establish a system to where we could assist the world we broke apart."

Wish Three: Before Breakfast

"Screening process?" Randi asked worriedly, carefully trying not to squish her new friend into her chest. "You mean, like we're always being watched or something. I knew I had the right to be paranoid." She nodded to herself, feeling a sudden urge to eat something.

Kratos then rose a hand with a pointed finger and replied, "No, that's not how it goes. As a race of survitude of a great magnitude, we chibis also know the way of the planet, as we are much more technologically advanced than Earthlings are. We can scan the world itself and find each and every human!" he declared proudly. "That is the race that I belong to: the Chibis!"

Randi just gave him a dull expression. "I just can't believe that you're actually the Kratos Aurion. Like a wish come true, seems like," she said quietly, causing Kratos to pull out of her arms and fly up to sit on her head.

"A wish, you say?" Kratos asked. "Hmm. Perhaps. Perhaps I only take on this form for you just so you'll allow me to get closer to you, but then again, it would make much more sense if I didn't pull that sort of trick." He just gave a shrug and looked over to see a bookshelf adorned with a small statue of something in his own likeness. "...what is this?!"

She replied, "My Kratos statue. I wanted some physical form of the character, so I got the wonderful Kratos statue to put with my things." Her face lit up for just a split second, then her thought seemed to dart out the window quickly.

"Say, shouldn't you eat something?"

"...I should."
