Viki's first incarnation, as a sphere...

And Viki in child form...

Celes' first incarnation was a sword...but there's no image of that. Here's her as a child, though!

Friends:
Jak- He's the awesomest! Jak-Jak is my Knight in Shining Armour. I love Jak terribly! He's absolutely the coolest dude -ever- and never fails to make me smile!
Vincent- I just met him, but he seems pretty cool! And he's friends with Jak-Jak, so he definitely has to be really cool!
Ruby- Ruby is really sweet! I haven't seen her in a really long time, though...I wonder how she's doing?
Prier- Another really good friend, like Jak-Jak, only less so. I haven't seen Prier in waaay too long, and I miss her a lot!
Faust-- he's really sweet! He let me wipe the paint off on his surcoat, and he said he'd help me look for my staff! ...I hope he got out of that whole rose thing okay...
Donnie- Donnie is really really nice! He and I played on the playground and stuff. It was a lot of fun. Hopefully I'll see him again soon!
Ice Crystal-- he seemed pretty neat. He's a pony, afterall! Not a Pokie-man, though. I think he didn't like me thinking he was one very much. Sorry!
Lexington-- Just met him. He seems rather interesting, at the very least...
Zukin-- She's pretty nice. She tried to teach me how to dance...I'm afraid I didn't take to it very well, though.
Zexion-- formulating opinions, still...
Goofy-- Met recently. He's really nice. He made me feel a bit better about the whole soldier thing.
Rufus-- a fascinating character. He's agreed to give me a few pointers as far as hand-to-hand combat, and has suggested that his brother might be able to aid me in my eternal quest to become a better swordsman.

Mostly, you'll be best off if you don't give her anything important to take care of...or if you won't get angry when she doesn't remember to take care of whatever important thing you -do- try to have her take care of. She's a ditz, and she can't help it.
Likes: Cheerfulness, sunshine, playing games, keeping busy, teleporting, Dislikes: Unhappiness, people being mean to her, scary things like skulls and evil stuff Favourite foods: Spaghetti with meatballs! Hated foods: Ice cream..having two siblings and a 'cousin' made of it, she just can't bring herself to eat it. Favourite Scents: Lilac, Vanilla, anything light and pretty Hated Scents: Deep, dark musky scents
Personality: Cheerful and outgoing, Viki is more than willing to do anything to make you happy. Of course, she might just forget what she was doing and start trying something else in the meantime, but the thought is still there. She's a little vapid, with a tendency to space out (and/or teleport via sneezing in the middle of a conversation) but there's a lot of intelligence under all that forgetfulness. And a sweet demeanor, as well, that usually makes up for it. She'll forget your birthday, but she'll never forget how much she cares about you.
Stats:
Name: Celes Age: Child Family: Shiaree, Kairinia, Cera, Sagitta, Merak, Muris, Calandra, Nikolai, Katsuhiko, Cho, Alexander, Aileen, Xingba, Boyue, Kalya, Shoyu, Celes, Passionfruit, Tutti Frutti, and Linali Marital Status: Dating...Rufus?! Sexual Preference: Male Prospects: Probably the most capable person you could ever have if you want someone to keep things clean, etc. She's...difficult to get to open up, however, so you'll have to work hard to get to the emotional side of her. She will defend you to the end if you win her over, however.
Likes: Swords, swordfighting, knights, soldiers, roses!, bandanas, and opera? Dislikes: to a small degree Viki, being seen as weak, not knowing what she's doing, the niggling feeling that she ought to remember something, but just doesn't. Favourite foods: Nothing in particular, she'll eat just about anything Hated foods: Again, nothing in particular Favourite Scents: Roses Hated Scents: the Ocean
Personality: On the outside, Celes appears nothing less than a graceful, beautiful, dangerous soldier. She's not particularly social, and she's not prone to lazing about doing nothing. She has become, recently, completely obsessed with her swordsmanship and practices constantly.
This, however, is just a mask. She feels drawn to becoming a soldier due primarily to the remaining essence of what she once was. On the inside, however, she's a completely different person. A typical Pisces, Celes is emotional, dreamy, and romantic. She is honest and affectionate, generous and kind. She's also given to fickleness, exaggeration, and paranoia. She uses her cool exterior to bring a sort of balance to this swirl of emotion, a sort of anchor in the wild seas.
She's also drawn to mystery, and will usually be more inclined to agree to something that intrigues her.

Log 1 (starting the journal over) Celes in Wonderland.
With only a small 'thump', Lexington landed in the castle courtyard. At least he had gotten better with the landings....
Celes sighed. This was -not- good. It wasn't just that she had fallen asleep and awakened in this strange place. Though, she liked to think she kept a little bit better guard on herself than to allow any moving of her sleeping body to happen. Then again, she didn't remember being sleep enough to fall asleep anyhow.
No, but now she was...well, rather feline. Not completely feline, or she'd really be in woe, but her ears were those of a cat, and she had whiskers and, of all things, a tail...along with a light dusting of yellowish fur all over her body.
Now how, precisely, was she supposed to expect anyone to take her seriously as a soldier when she was trussed up as a cat? The little girl jumped, hearing a thud behind her, "State your name and purpose!" she demanded, turning around to face the strange green creature.
Lexington blinked. For as he picked himself up, he found that he was no longer in the castle. But he had no time to ponder his surroundings, for he found himself suddenly accosted by a cat-girl.
"L-Lexington. Of nowhere-in-particular. My purpose is to explore..." he grinned, not being able to resist, "...to boldly go where no whatever-they-are has gone before."
Celes blinked a moment, staring at him. She wasn't quite sure -what- he was. But then, it was perfectly possible that whatever had happened to turn -her- into a feline had turned him into some kind of green creature.
"Euh. That is a strange name. Did you come by whatever this curse is as well?" she tugged at one of the fuzzy ears self-consciously, "I do not think soldiers are supposed to be cats."
"Curse?" Lex looked puzzled. "Maybe...I don't know. I've always been like this - though nobody as yet has been able to figure out what I am supposed to be." He shrugs. "What's your name?"
Celes tilted her head thoughtfully, whiskers quivering curiously, "Always...well, then, I guess you haven't....I've never been feline before. This is very strange."
She put a fuzzy paw out, frowning at it as she did so, "I am Celes Chere."
Lex grinned, and took the offered paw.
"Really?" He had never heard of anyone getting turned into something else before. "You mean, like magic?"
The girl shrugged, "I don't know. All I know is that I fell asleep, woke up in this strange place with fur all over my body."
She tugged at her ponytail uselessly, wondering just what -had- happened, and where they were at. Not only that, but she rathered wondered where Viki had gotten off to. Doubtless she was completely lost.
Lex frowned. "That's strange. I saw the castle as I flew here, but when I landed...it had vanished." He looked around. "Probably *is* magic around, then. Mum's always fond of saying that when strange things happen, there is usually magic involved."
Celes pondered this a moment, "I suppose. I have a talent for magic, you see. At least, that is what Boyue told me. I haven't yet figured out how to work it. I guess that will just take time."
She didn't really know anything about magic. She'd have to look it up whenever she finally managed to get back to the Moonglade. She was pretty sure that grandfather's library ought to have something on it, considering how magically talented the elf himself was.
Lex pondered this. "That might be useful," he said. "I think Mum knows magic too. At least, she has a teacher..."

Log 2 -- Viki in Wonderland
Viki trotted cheerfully down the path. She seemed to be searching for something, though there didn't really seem to be anything worth searching for nearby. Her big eyes peered around every flower, and into every tree as she made her way through the little forest. "Hmmm.....I wonder..."
She adjusted the crazy little skirts that she was decked in. She didn't mind them really, they were cute and lacy and fun, but, it was still a little odd. She'd been dressed in her normal outfit when she fell asleep, and she was pretty sure she would have woken up if someone'd been trying to change her outfit while she was sleeping!
Faust was looking rather worried as he wondered down his own path in this... forest area. He was in the library reading upon the human anatomy before he found himself waking up in this world. Not only had his surroundings changed, but his clothes too.
He was now wearing a black long sleeved hooded shirt, with black leggings with matching pair of black boots. The leggings were embarassingly tight. Over the black gear was a knight's surcoat, decorated with the ace of spades.
Upon hearing the sounds of someone else walking along his path, Faust quickly hesitated and hide behind the nearest tree, which was rather thin. Hopefully it wouldn't be someone odd.
Viki tilted her head curiously when she heard the rustling about. She had to hold onto the little straw hat she'd found upon her head when doing so-- she didn't really want it to fall. It was awfully cute-- she wondered if she might keep it even when things returned to normal.
"Euh...hello? Is somebody there?" she asked, tugging one pigtail back into place as she righted herself, "I mean, a person, not just an animal or a flower or anything."
Standing perfectly still, Faust wasn't sure weither to come out of hiding or not. The person who was calling out didn't sound all that odd. But if things were as weird as they looked in this place, then he wasn't going to trust just a voice.
But his hiding place was not suitable, his legs, arms and shoulders were still in view.
Viki, being a bit of a ditz, took a minute to figure this out. Then, she spotted the extremities and made her way over, tapping him on the shoulder, "'scuse me," she said, "But, I don't suppose you're the one was making all that noise a minute ago?"
She rather hoped he was. Because if he wasn't, she'd have to go looking for another source, and maybe it was another one of those crazy talking flowers or something. Now -those- were weird!
As soon as his shoulder was tapped, Faust practically jumped out of his skin, stumbling back a few steps. "I! OH! I...Um..I-I guess it was..." He stuttered once he regained himself almost.
He bowed his head a little, looking towards the ground. That was quite a scare he had been given, but luckily it was someone normal.
If Viki could indeed be considered normal. But then again, she was more normal than most of the other creatures about. She pulled at the sash around her waist a bit, slightly nervous, "Er. You haven't happened to have seen a staff lying about, have you...are you a knight, by the way? You look like the Knights in my picture books at home! Celes likes them a lot."
"Er.. no.. I haven't seen a staff..." He said quietly, looking up at the girl.
Blinking for a moment, he turned his attention to what he was wearing again, his eyes narrowed. He didn't have his glasses anymore.
"Um... I..I dont know... If I am... I'm a knight of the ace of spades." he replied just as quietly to her last question, still stuttering.
The girl tapped her chin thoughtfully, "Well, that sounds like a strange sort of knight. Still, a knight is a knight. If you're a -real- knight, you're supposed to do good deeds and help people, right? So, maybe you can help me find my staff!"
She twisted one pigtail around her finger thoughtfully-- she really wasn't used to having her hair up like this, but she liked it! "Would you? I can't find Jak-Jak or I'd ask him to help. And I can't find Celes either."
He looked confused for a moment. He really didn't know who any of those people she was talking about were.
He'd have to reconsider the idea of her being normal.
But he nodded anyway. "Ok... I-I think I can do that. Um..."
Looking around, he tried to decide which direction they should look, he didn't see it in the direction he came from and he was sure she didn't find it from where she came from.
Spotting a sign nearby, he ran up to it to read what it said. The closest words he could make out were "The Rose Garden". Hm... Sounded nice. Maybe it was there. "Shall we check the Rose Garden?"
Viki clapped her hands together cheerfully, "Ooooh! Let's do! Roses are so pretty!" she grabbed him by the hand after catching up to him and tugged him along next to her, "Let me know if you see my staff..." she stopped, sniffing at one of the roses, "oh! They're lovely!"
A blush had spread over Faust's face as he was sudden grabbed by the hand and pulled along. A girl had never grabbed his hand before.
Once they were in the Rose garden thanks to Viki's dragging, Faust kept a look out for her staff as she had said. He didn't really see anything except for roses... Though some were red in one half of the garden and white on the other.
One of the rose trees seemed to be half red and half white. Some of the roses not.. Completely painted? Oh that was odd.
The girl gently touched one of the roses..and then recoiled, "Eeep!" she startled, bumping against her companion, "Oh! It's just paint. I was frightened for a moment. I thought it was blood!" she showed him her hand, which was touched with a bit of red, "How odd that there's paint on the roses!" she mused, looking about for somewhere to wipe off the paint-- she didn't want to get the pretty white dress she was wearing all red splotched!
Faust almost fell as the other bumped into him suddenly. Wide eyed, he blinked for a moment staring at her hand. But noting she was looking for somewhere to wipe her hand that was covered with paint, he offered the corner of his surcoat.
"Y-Yes it is rather odd.. I dunno why someone would want to paint the roses red." He continued to look around, taking note on the paint brushes and cans of paint that were still laying on the floor.
Viki paused, wiping the paint off and giving him a quick kiss on the cheek, "Aw, you're so sweet, thankyou!"
She noticed the paintbrushes and such only when she looked to see what he was looking at. Tilting her head (and holding her hat) again, she tsk'd, "You know, whoever was doing this probably oughtn't have left these things lying about. I mean, what if a racoon or something came by and spilled it all?!"
She looked back at her new friend, "Oh! I'm Viki by the way!"
Faust's cheeks went bright red as he was kissed on the cheek. He looked rather stunned, staring off into the distance wide eyed.
He hardly heard what she was saying and it was a delayed reply to when she told him her name. But he finally came too. "Oh! M-My name is Faust."
He said it as though he was suddenly suprised by something.
She peered at him curiously, clasping her hands behind her back, "Are you okay? You don't look very well. Your cheeks are all red. Maybe you're getting overheated. That knight outfit does look awfully warm! Do you want to sit down for a bit and rest?"
She looked about to see if maybe there was a bench somewhere where they could sit, but really there wasn't. Maybe they could just fid a patch of grass somewhere where they wouldn't have to lean against the painted roses and worry about getting their clothes all dirty. Though...grass would stain her dress too...well, she could stand, and he could sit for a little while. That would work.
"Oh.. Um.. Maybe I could sit down for a moment. Here on the gress is fine."
And he immediately sat down where he was standing. He did feel rather hot in the face he had to admit.
However he had to look up when he heard the sounds of a few men humming coming their way.
And there was. Three rather oddly shaped men were walking their way to the paints, humming a tune. (Painting the Roses Red).
They were as thing as playing cards and indeed had a card number on them. 3 of clubs, 6 of spades and 5 of clubs.
When they had reached the pair, they stopped in their tracks wide eyed. One of them asking. " 'Ere? Why aren't you painting the roses!? The Queen's gonna be furious!" He pointed at Faust.
"And where'd you come from?" The 3 of Clubs asked Viki.
"Oh!" she backed away from the three strange men marching towards them, effectively putting Faust between herself and them, "I...waffu...." she giggled nervously, tugging again at the sash around her waist, "Well, I don't really know where I came from. See, I was in this little globe, and then my mother took care of me, and poof, here I was!"
She tilted her head, her face flushed a little from fright, as these guys did look terribly menacing, "Or, did you mean recently? Because I still don't know that either. I was sleeping and then I woke up and there were flowers talking at me, and then I was looking for my staff and I found Faust here, and he said he'd help me and now, well, here we are..."
Faust merely blinked when he was asked why he wasn't painting the roses red. Was he supposed to? Standing up again he was about to answer before the 6 of spades guided him to the half painted bush and handed him a paint brush.
"Start helping us paint or our heads will be off our necks!" He really did look quite worried.
However 3 of clubs was still talking to Viki. "Help?! We need help! The Queen is gonna have our heads if we dont paint all these roses you see."
"Aye, we planted the wrong colour roses!" Said number 5.
"Care to help us miss?"
The girl blinked, looking at the strange men and then at the buckets of paint and such, "Well...." she said, turning to peer at Faust for a moment, "Well, I mean, I'd like to help. I certainly wouldn't want the Queen to chop off your heads..."
What queen? She didn't know of any queen. Maybe this was some strange sort of game....
"But..I wouldn't want to get paint on my dress. Do you at least have a smock or something I could wear?"
Looking at the other card man that was painting, Faust stared for a moment before beginning to paint himself. Maybe this wasnt SO bad, maybe he'd get this right.
He certainly didn't want his head chopped off, especially since he was mistaken for of them by the card people. What if this Queen did so too? He'd get in trouble with them!
Both of the card men looked around for something to act as a smock for the girl. The more of them, the quicker they'd get it doen before the Queen saw what they were doing.
Taking up the cloth that was under one of the prepared trees, 3 of clubs handed it over to the young lady. "Will that do miss? Help us please?"
Viki wrapped the cloth around her dress, shrugging. That was good enough, really. It wasn't even really her dress, afterall, and these guys -did- need her help, "Sure!" she took up a paint brush and a bucket and headed over to help Faust with the bush he was painting, "I don't suppose this Queen lady will -really- cut off anybody's head. It's probably just some kind of game."
"Oh you don't know the Queen miss!" Grimaced 3 of Clubs who had already begun painting at a faster pace then Faust was doing.
"She's got a very short fuse, she has. It's not wise to get on her bad side or argue with her." stated the 5 or spades who has begun work on another bush.
Faust was busy peering closely at the one rose he was painting. It was hard enough without his glasses but he was being a perfectionist at his work. Making sure that all the white was not showing through.
Viki blinked, "You're...quite sure?" she asked, eyeing the rose bush and then the cards in turn. She certainly didn't want to be involved with any of this if heads were going to be chopped off. There were a lot of roses, too...but she couldn't just leave them to get in trouble.
She distracted herself with her newfound friend, "...er, are you doing all right there, Faust?" she asked him, noticing that he was squinting at the roses, "Is something wrong with your roses?"
"Oh yes.. Last week cook got the chop cause he used cooked a tulip bulb instead of an onion." 5 said, looking extremely worried.
"And that's a mistake anyone could make!" 6 said grumpily from where he was.
Looking up at Viki when she came over, Faust nodded before getting back to his rose painting. "Oh! Y-yes, I was.. just... I haven't got my glasses."
Again he was squinting at them. It was near enough done, but he wasn't too sure.
"Aaaaaaa aaaachooo!" Viki sneezed after getting too close to the roses. And, just like that, in the blink of an eye, she was gone.

Log 3 -- Celes learns to dance?
Celes blinked. Well, she was certainly glad to be human again. The fur had really bothered her. The girl pulled out her sword, waving it around in a few interesting but ineffectual patterns. She still had a lot to learn as far as swordplay.
Zukin grinned as she walked around, the world was a lot cooler when you were bigger in it. That's what she had decided, and it was fine logic to her. She looked around, deciding to get some ice-cream, when she saw a little girl swinging around a sword.
Her tail swinging being her, she walked up with a smile "Hey, that looks like fun, what's your name?" Always straight to the point.
The little blonde looked at the other...well, she'd assume it was a girl. It had a girl's voice, though it didn't look like any kind of girl she'd ever seen before. Though really, with siblings made out of ice cream, she supposed she really ought to be able to accept just about anything.
"I am Celes Chere," she said solemnly, sheathing her sword and making a respectful bow, "And you are?"
Zukin smiled and repeated Celes' actions, bowing respectfully to the small girl. "I'm Zukin, it's very nice to meet you Celes." She spoke with a smile.
Such a polite and tradition girl, Zukin didn't believe she had met anyone of such an upbringing. To bow when meeting, that was a rare sight, even for Zukin who was full of rare sights.
Celes smiled, "It is good to meet you as well. Tell me, what manner of creature -are- you?" she asked, eying the strange wings and even stranger clothing. Her huge hoop earrings bobbed a bit as her head moved, making her look all the more...well, pirate-y.
Zukin grinned "Well, techincally... my name is Devil Zukin. So I guess I'm a devil?" Her tail swished around her wildly. "But don't worry, I'm not like a traditional devil, I've just got a little mischief streak about myself." She said with a giggle.
Celes considered this. A devil? There was more than one devil? In as much as she had read, the devil was Satan, the incarnation of evil and lord of hell. But Zukin didn't really look much like that sort of character. And she had said she wasn't particularly evil, just mischievous. She supposed she could deal with that-- afterall she had her share of mischievous siblings. "I see..."
Zukin's grin faded to a small smile "If you can't handle that, I can leave... or I can buy you ice-cream, since I was heading there anyways." She offered as she pointed over Celes shoulder to the ice-cream shop with a replenished grin.
The girl blinked, "Oh, I didn't mean anything bad. I'm simply not sure what to think...you don't have to buy me ice cream, I can get my own, but I'd be happy to go get some with you..."
She bowed again, "I do apologize if I offended you."
Zukin laughed, "don't even worry about it, I've gotten a lot worse than silence because of my appearance! And I'd be glad if you would join me Celes. Maybe I can prove that I'm not as bad as I seem?" She suggested with a smile.
The girl nodded, "Perhaps you can. Though, I really do not think you are bad at all. It is just that from what I have read, the devil is one persona, and he is the incarnation of evil. So you can understand my concern."
Another laugh emitted from Zukin, "Oh trust me, I understand perfectly. It's not easy lookin' like this y'know! It's all an appearance and a name, it's not like I'm possessed or anything... then again, that's something I'd say if I were possessed. Darn. Oh well, you're just going to have to have faith in me until I do something to betray your trust, alright? Now how about that ice-cream?"
The girl nodded, "Believe me, I know. Nobody realizes it, because I don't look at it, but under this exterior I'm really a soldier! ...or at least, I will be. That's why I was practicing..."
She looked at her sword a moment, then followed the other girl, "Ice cream sounds great."
Zukin giggled "that's so cool, I don't think I've ever met a soldier... or a would-be-soldier anyways. Is there any reason you want to be a soldier? My sister is a little witch girl, really pretty. She wants to learn to fly, well I'm not sure if that's why she's a witch though, I think she just is one."
She walked up to the counter and orded a chocolate chip cookie dough ice-cream cone. As she picked it up and licked it, she turned to Celes, waiting for her to get what she wanted.
Celes ordered a vanilla cone, licking at it a bit before she sat down. She was thinking of just exactly how to answer Zukin. Why -did- she want to become a soldier so badly?
"Well, Boyue...my...brother, I guess...well, he said that I'm from a video game, and in the video game I was a soldier..and he told me about the things I did and...well...it all sounds very noble. I could really help people! Help the world!"
Zukin grinned "that is very noble, that's a great thing to try and accomplish. I don't really have anything special about me, but I can dance really well. All full of video-game grooves myself." She said with a grin as she crunched on the cone of the ice-cream. She took a seat herself and continued on her cone.
Celes blinked, "Dance?" she asked, looking at the other girl curious as she licked at her ice cream cone a bit more, "What's dance?"
Zukin gasped "you don't know what dancing is? No way! Hold on a second!" She quickly finished her cone and jumped out of her seat to the counter and turned the radio on the counter on. When she did a bouncy beat came on.
"Get up Celes, I'm going to show you how to dance!" She went over to Celes and took her hands, pulling her from her seat, "Now, let's see if you're a natural. Move to the beat!" She released Celes' hands and waited.
Celes attempted mostly to keep her ice cream cone from falling out of her hand when the other girl yanked her out of her seat-- she was a very slow eater. Blinking, she stared hopelessly at Zukin, "Do -what-?" she asked
Zukin sighed and shook her head "how sad, not knowing how to dance..." She took a few steps away from Celes, "Like this! Shake your hips to the beat, let your arms become one with the music, and let your feet just move to the rhythm." As she explained what to do, she demonstrated to the music on the radio.
"See? It's simple, and fun. Try it!"
Celes looked at the other girl. And then at her ice cream. Then the radio, each in their turn. She sighed. Well, it was worth a try, anyhow. Zukin did look like she was having fun. She didn't know what this 'beat' was she kept talking about, though. The girl wiggled pathetically a second before blushing and taking a seat, "Oh, I cannot do this!"
Zukin shook her head and giggled "nonononono, nobody gives up!" She grabbed Celes' arms and pulled her back up. "Alright, basics... the beat, the bounce in the music, the drums. Y'hear it? That's the beat, that's what you go by, that's the basics of everything." She nodded confidently "Now try it again, don't be embarassed. Everyone's bad when they first start off!" She said with a spin. "Come on Celes, try it again!" She pushed.
Celes' ice cream cone fell to the ground this time. But she didn't really care. She was done with it anyhow....this dancing thing was what she was really worried about, "I don't know...I don't really hear..." she sighed, trying a few more completely out-of-rhythm wiggles. This was positively ridiculous.
"This is crazy. I look silly."
Zukin simply giggled and grabbed Celes' hands "Come on, do it with me, one thing at a time, tap your foot to the beat... like so." *tap, tap, tap* "Now, shake your hips to the half-beat, come on Celes. It's fun. Who cares what you look like? Nobody, this is all about having fun!"
Celes sighed, "But I'm a soldier, soldiers aren't supposed to look silly! Nobody takes someone seriously if they look silly!"
She wiggled some more, but it was obvious she wasn't much good, "What's the -trick- to this anyhow? There's always a trick..."
Zukin shook her head and sighed "The trick is to stop caring, you're just a kid. And while I hated hearing that myself, it's true. Take a five minute break from caring and have some fun! Do it or I'll invent some voodoo to cast on you to make you have fun!" She joked around.

Log 4-- Celes' first encounter with the dark side
Celes wandered over to the fountain, sitting down on the edge of it. The water always made her a bit glum, though she couldn't fathom why. It was soothing, though, in a way. She adjusted the sword at her hip, eyeing it thoughtfully. The sheathe was quite beautiful-- her godmother's father (her god-grandfather?) had made it for her. It seemed he had some small skill in leatherworking. Intricately beautiful designs of roses...she did love roses.
Zexion was still getting his bearings here, not too sure about the inhabitants or the lay of this place. He cast his gaze about himself, the one blue eye visible beyond his hair revealing his typically pretty disdainful attitude. It took a lot to impress him and at the moment the streets weren't cutting it. Still, it was better than sitting around he supposed.
Closing his eyes briefly, he tested the air, a cacophony of smells reaching his nose, each one demanding his full attention, a hundred tales to tell. He homed in on a familiar one, water, and headed off in the direction of the fountain.
As he drew nearer, it became obvious someone else was there already. The beginnings of a smirk played on his features, this could be interesting.
The girl tilted her head back, finished examining her sheathe. It didn't need to be polished yet. She peered up at the blue sky for a moment, just taking it all in. It was so nice and quiet here, unlike at home. And she didn't have Viki constantly pestering her, either. A welcome change. Though, she supposed she could be spending her time better. Maybe practicing with her sword. Really, though, she felt she'd done all she could on her own with it. Perhaps she would look into getting some sort of instructor. She'd never be a proper soldier if she didn't know how to wield a sword properly.
She tilted her head forward, locks of pale blonde falling haphazardly in her eyes as she did so. Pushing them away, she spotted a figure moving slowly her direction. She jumped to her feet, hand on her sword, "State your name and business!" She demanded.
Zexion allowed the smirk to creep across his features, amused. He didn't have any business anywhere and his name was interchangable with the number 6, 6 was important. Still, he figured he'd best humour the blonde girl and finally spoke, his voice a chilly drawl.
"Zexion. Nothing." he flashed her a mocking grin, his blue eye glittering mischeviously.
"Now how about you state yours?"
He might have been smart talking but it was the carefully cautious smartass behaviour of those who have no weapon and are acutely aware that the other person has a pointy object in their possession.
The girl eyes him warily. He doesn't seem quite like most of the other people she's met here in Traverse Town. They all seem to be friendly, energetic...like her 'sister'. This guy, however...well, his blue eyes send a bit of a chill down her spine.
Celes' own blue meet his, though, "My name is Celes Chere. My business is none of yours," she conceded her name, at least, but if he wasn't going to tell her what he was up to, she wasn't going to tell him her mission. Besides, she didn't really -have- a mission at the moment.
The boy nodded in acknowledgement of the girl's name, it sounded foreign to him but no more foreign he supposed than his sounded to other people. She didn't even have an "x" in her name! But whatever.
"Ah, I see we both like to keep our cards close to our chest. Or at least would, if I actually had anything to hide." he shrugged "I'm new here. Looking around, not much else."
He quirked a silver brow "You from around here?"
The girl narrowed her eyes, analyzing him. Well, despite having a bit of a negative aura about him, he seemed decent enough. She really shouldn't be so quick to judge. She let go of his gaze, shaking her head, "Not precisely. I live...well, a bit of a distance from here. But I come here sometimes. Mostly to look for my sister-- she gets lost frequently."
He nodded, siblings, he didn't have any, they sounded like a bit of an irk to tell the truth. "You should get a leash or tracking device for her." Or just not look, that's what he would do, but again, he didn't have siblings. "Yeah, I don't have any brothers or sisters. I'm kind of glad, they sound like a hassle."
He sat himself down on the edge of the fountain and dipped a finger into the water.
"Why are there pennies in here?" He hadn't come across anything like it before.
Celes sighed, "Unfortunately, it isn't that easy. She has this ability to randomly...well, teleport. It's hard to keep tabs on her when she doesn't even know where she's going or when she's going to go."
She settled back on the rim of the fountain, peering down at the clear water and the...coins. "Oh. It's said that if you throw a penny in a fountain and make a wish, it will come true."
The idea sounded a little hokey to her, but, there was no pointing ruining anyone else's fun. It was a cute theory, anyhow. If impossible-- unless the fountain was magic, of course.
Zexion smirked again, he couldn' help it. He could teleport sometimes, or at least, he did when he was afraid. Couldn't control it in the least though. He'd just back away and next thing he knew WOOMPH and he'd be in the dark, then fall out somewhere else.
"I know what that's like, though it's not random, only when I'm.." he frowned, not wanting to seem like a coward "..frightened." Damn, it still sounded wimpy. "Doesn't happen much, in case you can't guess."
He wrinkled his nose at the reason for the pennies, he wasn't one to beleive in superstition, not when it couldn't possibly be proven or verified. "You'd think wishes would cost more than that. Especially the kind /I'd/ be wishing for."
"Oh," Celes shook her head, "Viki doesn't do it when she's scared-- well, maybe she does sometimes. It's completely random. She just sneezes and 'poof!' she's gone."
She stuck her fingers in the water, lifting them up and letting the little droplets fall and ripple over the stillness of the edges of the pool until they got churned up by the flow from the fountain part.
"I don't get scared much either. At least, I try not to. A good soldier has to stay sharp in any situation!"
She blinked, peering at a penny as the light reflected off of it and caught her eye, "And I'd guess real wishes probably would. But it makes people feel better thinking it works, I guess. And that's the real magic."
"That would be the most irritating thing ever." Zexion stated matter-of-factly. "I'd hate to be in the middle of something only to appear elsewhere." The idea of taking a bath and appearing in the middle of the town mortified him and he thanked his lucky stars his ability was a cowardly one rather than anything else.
He nodded, a soldier, eh? He hated fighting, it was ghastly, so much effort. But still, sometimes it was unavoidable, he really needed to find a way to defend himself.
An idea hit him and he looked into the fountain, making an impeccable attempt at looking slightly forlorn. "I'd probably wish for strength or someone with strength if given half a chance. I'm no fighter and this is a fighter's world." he pointedly eyed her blade. "I don't even have a weapon."
It was amazing how pitiful he could sound if he neglected to mention his other abilities.
The girl blinked, "Really?" she asked. The poor guy. He didn't really look like a fighter at all, now that he mentioned it. She put her hand on her sword as he eyed it, but calmed a little when he mentioned he didn't have one,
"Well, I'm sure you could get one, if you wanted. And if you practiced enough..." She bit her lip thoughtfully then, thinking of Viki, "Of course, some people just aren't meant to be fighters. Maybe you're more like my sister, and that's why you both can teleport."
He nodded, unconciously making himself look even more frail and hopeless with his illusions. It paid to get sympathy from others, one way or another, he was schemer, not some brute fighter, he would have to use that trait to solve his problems.
"I had a weapon once." he stated "But it failed me, like you say, I think I'm not cut out to fight."
Ah, the crux of the matter was pretty close.
"But y'know, maybe someday I'll find a fighter to keep an eye out on others for me." It was a whopping great hint, but that was what he was good at, obviousness when nessicary, subtlety at all other times.
Celes nodded her head thoughtfully. It didn't really surprise her. Not everyone was a soldier or a fighter or anything like that. Most of her siblings, come to think of it, really weren't. Well, except Sagitta and Kairinia, but neither of them were very nice, either.
She watched him, eyeing him curiously, and then bowed, "Well, if you like...maybe I could help you out? I'm not much of a soldier yet, but I've been practicing. And there aren't a lot of threats out there right now anyways."
He resisted the urge to smirk only after considerable effort. it was always nice to find someone to get their hands dirty in your stead while you zipped out of there when the going got rough.
He smiled warmly, looking greatful "That would be excellent, I don't doubt you'd make an excellent soldier."
She had a good heart, he could see that. He didn't even have one.
Celes smiled, "I'll try my best."
She peered up at the sky again, then sighed, "And it is about time for me to leave. My godmother will be worried...hopefully Viki's still home or she'll just send me out looking for her...at any rate, here.."
She pulled a piece of paper out of her pocket-- an old receipt actually, and scribbled a few words and numbers on it, "This is my e-mail address, and my phone number. If you need me..." She smiled, bowed again, "I will be at your service."
Zexion nodded "I'll see you later then." and then took the piece of paper offered gratefully, putting it in his own pocket so he wouldn't go and lose it. "I'll be sure to keep in touch."
It was a good start to his time here, he'd already met an aquaintence, someone who he could rely on if he needed aid. Allies were good to have, after all, you were only as good as the standard of the company you kept.

Log 5-- Viki meets Axel
Viki skipped down the street, swinging her staff back and forth. She was quite careful not to hit anyone with it, of course-- she wouldn't ever want someone to get hurt because of her! But, she was in a good mood. She was a little worried, of course, because Celes had taken to sulking a lot more lately though she couldn't say why. Still, it was hard for Viki to stay morose for any period of time.
Sauntering down the streets he didn't notice the bubbly teen as he crossed the street. So much was he in his own thoughts that he almost missed the swinging staff that came at his face as he came up behind the skipping girl.
"Whoa!?" Axel exclaimed as he leaned back on his legs to keep from catching it with his teeth.
Viki blinked, blushing a little, "Oh! Sorry about that!" she said, hugging the staff to her so that it wouldn't hit anybody for sure, "I didn't see you there."
She nodded. Really, though, she didn't want to hug it that tight to her chest, so, she settled instead for using it as though it were a walking stick.
Axel was about to snap at her to watch where she put that thing but caught instead where she had the staff clutched to. Staring for a second he snapped out of it when he realized he had just started at some strange girls chest.
Looking around quickly he made sure there was no angry wife flying at him be fore he replied "That's ok. just make sure you watch it with that thing."
Viki..didn't even notice him staring. She beamed, "No problem! Staff will stay -on- the ground!" she nodded satisfactorily at this and put out a hand for him to shake, "I'm Viki, by the way! I don't think we've met before!"
Axel looked at the hand then shook it saying "Axel."
He really didn't know where that had come from but he was gonna pretend it didn't happen if she was.
"The staff looks ....good on the ground." he said as he looked around agaian still nervous Shego would appear out of no where.
Viki giggled, "Indeed. Then it shall stay here," she nodded towards the staff sitting soundly on the ground. Well, the bottom of it was. The rest remained in her hand. She didn't know why, but she was very attached to her staff.
"It's nice to meet you, Axel! Do you live very close to here? I don't. I've almost figured out how to control my teleporting sometimes, though, so it's a little faster to get here."
"How come you don't just use your cell to teleport?" Axel asked mildly confused by what she was talking about. All he knew about teleporting was stepping in and out of shadows.
That and if you're tired and don;t feel like it you can just pop open the cellphone and make it do the work for you.
Viki blinked, "What's a cell?" she asked. She'd never really heard of such a thing, even if she did probably have it-- at least, she would assume so given how certain Axel had seemed that she would, "And I can teleport all on my own. Boyue said it had something to do with Blinking and a Rune."
"Blinking? If that was the case shouldn't you be disappearing everytime you blink and reappearing everytime you open your eyes?" Axel asked slightly confused by the idea of blinking to teleport.
Pulling his cellphone out of his pocket he held it up for her to see.
"Your cell looks like this."
Viki shook her head, "I don't think it's quite like that. Though, a lot of times I teleport when I sneeze!"
She giggled at the thought. She hadn't done that quite as much lately, but it was still funny when it did happen.
"Oh..." she looked at the cell phone, "I don't have one of those."
Teleport when she sneezes huh? Axel backed up another step just in case she happened to pass wind and fly or something. He didn't understand the ins and outs of magic so she sounded a bit crazy to him.
"You got a guardian that takes care of you?" he asked sucking his lip off to the side of his face. This chick was perplexing. "They're suppose to give it to you."
She blinked, "Oh, you mean my mom? Yeah, I think she mentioned something about it before, now you say it...but there was also something about 'not trusting the girl not to lose it' or some such. Maybe I'll ask her about it. What's it do, anyhow?"
She peered at the object. She didn't blame her mother for not trusting her with it. Afterall, it looked awfully delicate and Viki had already accidentally destroyed a lot of delicate looking things.
Listening to the girl he grimaced. She obviously wasn't the bright one in the family. In fact she reminded him alot of Ariel. Too nice for her own good.
"Ok well first off you can use it to call people on. That way if you need to ask them a question or something you can." Axel started making sure he made eye contact with her. She just seemed the type to lose interest in things quickly.
Viki blinked. Oh, it was just like a regular phone. She didn't really use that much either. It was much more fun to see people in person and ask them questions! Though, e-mailing Faust had been sort of fun too.
She was indeed not the brightest in her family-- that title would probably go to Boyue, or possibly Aquae, though she was still an infant. Of course, just about any of them could easily outshine Viki in brilliance, but she didn't mind that really. She was happy being...well, happy.
"Oh..I never really call people on the phone."
"Ok but you can dial a different number and have it teleport you around the place. It's good for if you get tired and have to walk back home. Sneezing might not work if you're too tired." Axel replied trying his best to not get snappy.
This girl wasn't picking up on what he was saying really at all. This is what he got for listening to Seraph's stupid speech about meeting new and interesting people.
"Ohhhhh!" Viki giggled, "Well, that sounds sort of interesting. Though, walking is fun too. You get to meet new people! And you can stop and pick flowers and look in shops and stuff."
This... girl...... was....so..so....bubbly and nice! It was starting to actually hurt his head. Didn't she know nice guys finished last?
"Yeah well some people aren't the best to meet. Some will even try to hurt you." Axel shot back feeling snappish. She was so good hearted he had to educate her.
Viki giggled, "Aww, I don't know about that. I think most people are nice. I haven't met anybody really mean so far!" she nodded her head emphatically. The last thing Viki could possibly be concerned about would be 'finishing first'. She didn't mind being last, as long as she was happy there!
"And even if they aren't all nice, everybody's got -some- niceness in them!"
AGHHHHHHH! What was wrong in that girls brain that she was such a freak. People were only nice when they wanted something from you or were too stupid to know better!
"What about the people that kill other people? You can't tell me you think they are nice in any way." Axel shot back his voice tinted with disbelief.
Viki nodded, "Oh, I'm sure they were nice sometime. A lot of people who kill others feel really bad about it afterwards. And even if they don't, there are things they are nice about. It's not good to kill other people, of course..."
She frowned briefly in thought, "But, really, everybody has at least a little bit of niceness."
Every ounce of nice that Axel had in him was straining to keep him from killing her. He knew he wouldn't feel bad but he also knew he'd have to answer to Selona and Seraph.
He just didn't want the hassle. However after this chat he was going to need some serious distruction. This girl was just too much.
"Yeah well there are some that don't feel bad at all. Those are the ones you need to watch out for." he said quietly as he clenched his hands closed to dull the itch in them to bring out his chakrams.

Log 6-- Viki meets Shego (uh-oh)
*Shego lay on the edge of the pond her gloved fingers dipped into the water as she slowly killed off the fish bored and upset at her lack of ability to locate her own danm husband.*
Viki, on the other hand, was never bored. Even if she had nothing to do, she found some way to entertain herself. At the moment, this consisted of counting the number of clouds in the sky, and she very nearly tripped over Shego's legs in the process of doing so, "Oops!" she giggled, putting a hand over her mouth as she did so, "Sorry about that!"
*Shego flipped over in annoyance and raised her hand up green fire forming. "Watch where you going you clumsy little..." She huffed and stood. "Just get your head out of the clouds"*
Viki blinked, then shook her head, "No, I was -counting- the clouds. It'd be pretty hard to actually get up there, wouldn't it?" She peered up at the sky as though perhaps it would come down to her instead.
*Shego stared at Viki for a long moment. "Geeze...your almost as stupid as Ariel...and thats pretty bad..." Shego flicked her hand at the pond destroying all the fish in it and leaving an empty crater devoid of water.*
Viki shrugged, not knowing who Ariel was or what she did that was so bad. "I'm Viki," she smiled and put a hand out for the other girl to shake-- it seemed like she was meeting a lot of new people lately! First Axel and now this girl!
*Shego glared at Viki's hand and held out her own burning one. "You must have met some very...tolerant ...fools..." *
Viki blinked, then shrugged and let her hands dangle about her sides, swishing them back and forth, "Most of the people I've met have been really nice! Jak saved me from the skeleton thingies..."
*Shego clentched her fist. "Remind me to hurt Jak when I meet him..." She glared. "Has anyone ever told you your oblivious?"*
The girl smiled, "No, but thankyou!" she said, assuming oblivious was something good. This new girl was pretty nice! "What's your name?"
*Shego stared at viki in shock. "Your stupidity is overwhelming...' She crosse dher arms. "I'm Shego...and don't forget it" She tossed her hair back. "Maybe you can be minimally usefull have you seen a handsome young man about yay high..." She motioned with her hand. "With red hair spiked back...goes by the name of Axel..."*
The girl clapped her hands together excitedly, "Oh! Yes! I saw him yesterday. We talked about...er...cells." She blinked a second later, "Oh. I forgot to ask mom about that. Oh well! I'll ask her sometime!"
She wouldn't say soon, because she didn't really know if she'd remember to soon. It didn't matter anyways, she wasn't too worried about the whole cell phone thing anyhow.
*Shego perked up at the girls words. "You saw him? where?" Finally the ditz was proving usefull.*
"Uh...." Viki blinked, trying to think of just where it was that she'd bumped into Axel, "Er...just somewhere around Traverse Town," she nodded, motioning about the direction in which she'd found him, "I don't think he's in the same spot, though. ...I mean, he might be, but it's been a whole day."
*Shego growled in annoyance. "Well if you see him again tell him I'm looking for him..." She tossed a ball of fire up and caught it with a huff. "Axel explained the cells to you?" She looked at Viki curiously Axel had to have ha dthe patience of an angel to explain anything to little miss oblivious.*
Viki sat down next to Shego and nodded, "Well, a little. He said you used them a bit like a regular phone and to teleport. But, I don't really need a cell to teleport! I can do it on my own, soon as I learn how to control it."
She nodded vehemently at this-- that was something she was definitely working on, though she had a feeling there would always be some point in time in which she would find herself mysteriously teleported through sneezes.
"And sure, if I see him, I'll tell him. Is Axel your Knight?"
* Shego ganced at Viki curiously. "a teleporter...hmm...and my knight? what do you mean my knight?"*
Viki nodded, settling her hands primly in her lap now that she'd calmed down a bit from the initial excitement of meeting someone new, "Sure. Your Knight in Shining Armor!" She giggled, "Y'know, who comes to rescue you?"
*Shego burst into a fit of laughter. She gasped for air after a moment and shook her head. "yeah...sure...I guess Axel's my knight in shining armor..." She snickered. "actually he's my husband..."*

Log 7-- Viki and Jak meet up again!
Viki bounded along the streets of Traverse Town. She had, for once, left her staff at home. She didn't want another incident like with Axel where she nearly hit someone with it! That would definitely be a bad thing!
The girl paused a moment, looking in a shop window. "Hmmmm."
Jak ambled down the streets of Traverse, his hands stuck in his pockets. He kept on absently tugging at the lightning bolt earing that hung from his right ear. Ok, sure Mom said to let Oddball watch it. But she wont find out about the permanent piercing till she gets home! he rationalized for the millionth time.
Looking up, he froze as he spotted someone who looked hauntingly familiar. But it couldn't be her! Could it? "Viki?" he called hesitantly.
Viki turned around, hearing her name, and blinked. Then, she ran over to Jak and threw herself at him, "Jak-Jak!" she said excitedly, giving him an enthusiastic hug, "It's been forever!"
Jak's eyes widdened when Viki launched herself at him and he had to struggle to keep them both upright. Coughing slightly, he aquardly hugged her back. "To long Viki."
She beamed, taking his hand in hers and swinging it as she looked at him, "Very too long," she agreed. The now-teen pushed a strand of dark hair behind one ear with the hand that wasn't holding Jak's, "What have you been up to? Just babysitting Oddie?"
Jak quickly relaxed and smiled down on Viki. He was still taller than her, though she had grown considerably. "Mostly. Mom's on vacation so I'm taking care of things for her. Like this earing. Supposed to be an item, but Mom's not here to raise it. So I'm watching it," he said as he gesturd to the yellow bolt dangling from his right ear.
"And Oddie, I don't really have to watch her much anymore. Her 'puppy' takes care of that for me. Can you believe that Mom let her keep a three headed dog from the underworld? Literaly!"
Viki blinked. She hadn't met said 'puppy' yet, but he sounded pretty frightening to her.
The girl tilted her head to get a better look at the earring, "Hmm...an item, huh? So you didn't just get your ear pierced?" she giggled at the idea, smoothing out her skirts a bit. She felt -very- girly standing next to Jak!
"Nah, I was toying with the idea of getting my ear pierced. Just so happens that I finally had a sound excuse, so Mom can't go balistic on me," he said with a wink towards Viki.
"Anyways, wanna do something?"
Viki nodded, letting go of Jak's hand and looping her arm through his instead, "Sure! Do you want to play a game? Or get some ice cream? Or what?" she asked. She wasn't exactly sure what would be fun to do right now. Maybe a skateboarding escapade! ...but, she didn't see Jak's skateboard in sight, so he probably didn't have it handy to roll about on. Ah well, next time!
Jak nodded as he began to set out. "Ice cream sounds good. My treat of course," he said as he quickly figured out what part of Traverse was and which direction the Ice cream Shoppe was. "We'll probably run into Oddball and her puppy, Cerberus, at the Shoppe. It has become her favorite hang out," he warned.
Viki giggled, "You think so?" she asked, skipping a little bit as she walked. This was the best day ever! She had missed Jak a lot, and hadn't even realized how much until she'd seen him, "It'll be nice to see her again, too!"
"It's a definat possibility Viki. I'm sure she'd be happy to see you as well," answered Jak as he continued to carefully guid them to their destination.
It was safe to say that Jak was on cloud nine. He had missed his childhood friend greatly. And he was becoming vaguely aware of other feelings toward her.
The girl whistled a little tune, "That's good!" She stopped, beaming and pulling him in for another hug, "I missed you a -ton-, Jak! Things have been soooo weird lately. Celes -hates- me now."
She sighed. She knew Celes had never really liked her as much as she liked her sister, but now the girl wouldn't even -talk- to her anymore and would walk off any time Viki entered the room. It was really disheartening!
"Ah Vik," soothed Jak as he led her to a table that was situated just outside the Ice Cream Shoppe. "I'm sure she doesn't hate you. She's probably just not used to being able to move is all."
Viki sat down, making sure to maneuver her chair so that she was sitting right next to Jak and adjusted her skirts so that they fell nicely-- she didn't want to look messy in front of her knight!
"I don't know. She's always sad when she doesn't see me, and when she does she always gets angry and starts saying mean things."
She bit her lip and looked over the ice cream menu. Maybe that would make things better! Oooooh she could take Celes here for ice cream sometime soon, and that might help!
"She probably just doesn't know how to talk to you. Maybe something happened and now she's afraid you dont' like her, so when she sees you she gets angry that you would be so mean to her. I know Mom told me that stupid things people say can make you doubt what you know is true," Jak continued to sooth. Hoping to make her smile again.
"Now, order anything you like. Anything at all!"
Jak's cheerful attitude had Viki quickly forgetting about the Celes issue, and she snuggled up against him happily from her seat, "Aww, you're so smart!" she grinned, then went back to her menu, "Hmmm...Maybe a sundae would be good! Only, no nuts. I don't like those."
Jak smiled as Viki snuggled against him. "One sundae with no nuts, coming up!" he declared as he carefully rose from his seat and stepped into the shop.
When he came back out, he had a large hot fudge sundae with two spoons sticking out of it in one hand, and it the other a large glass of ice water and a bunch of napkins. Placing it on the table, he sat down once more and gestured towards Viki. "Dig in."
Viki giggled, "Oooh!" she bounced a bit in her seat as she took one of the spoons and then delicately dipped it into the ice cream, "Ah! It's awesome, Jak! Isn't it?"
"Hey now!" exclaimed Jak as she whipcreamed his nose. Smirking, he whiped the cream from his nose and transfered it to hers. "Don't dish it if you wont eat it," he accused. Laughing as he did so.
Viki giggled again, sticking her tongue out in an attempt to lick it off that way...and ending up completely unsuccessful, "Eep!" she laughed, wiping it off of her nose and then licking it from her hand, "ha! There, you see? I love whipped cream!"
Jak couldn't help laughing at her antics. She was just so cute! He took another bite of icecream as his mirth died down some. "See? Isn't it better to be happy?" he asked, nudging her lightly with his elbow.
Viki smiled, "Of course!" she settled back against the chair a second, then sat forward and took another bite of ice cream, "You always make me happy, though, Jak. That's why you're my Knight."
She laughed. It made her feel a little bit silly when she thought of Jak like that now, as Celes had recently explained to her what a Knight was really like. But she liked the idea anyways, and why not have fun with it?
Jak blushed slightly when she refered to him as her knight. He remebered how the whole thing started, but now that they had both grown he wasn't sure if it was so innocent anymore. But he certainly didn't want her to stop calling him it...which he though was vaguely odd. "So how do you like the sundae?" he asked casualy.
Viki sighed happily, "It's awesome. I told you already!" she grinned, playing with her hair. Jak seemed a little serious all of a sudden and that made her feel a little bit more serious too...though nothing would take away her flighty disposition, "What d'you want to do after it's gone..?" she prodded at the last little bits of ice cream with her spoon and then took one of the maraschino cherries and popped it into her mouth...gagging a bit over the stem which she neglected to remove.
"Ieee...that..not so good," she floundered a bit as she pulled the stem out of her mouth.
Jak laughed again as he gently patted her on the back till she got the stem out. "You're not supposed to eat that part!" he chidded lightly. Grabbing one of the cherries himself, he popped the whole thing in his mouth and sat there for a moment. Then, reaching up he pulled out the stem. Neatly tied in a knot.
Viki wrapped up the stem that had been in her mouth in a napkin and watched Jak with his, "Haha!" she clapped her hands at his achievement, "That's awesome! How did you do that?"
Jak chuckled as he put the stem on an unused napkin. "Don't know. Just remeber hearing about it somewhere and wanted to see if I could do it," he said with a shrug.
Viki laughed, "Well, maybe I'll try it next time, then...or we could go to the store and get cherries and practice!"
She grinned. That'd be fun. Besides, she liked cherries and hanging out with Jak, "Maybe in the park?" that'd be perfect. She liked the park. They could sit on the swings and practice.
"Well that sounds like a plan. But first we need to finish this sundae," agreed Jak as he spooned another bite of icecream into his mouth.
Viki blinked, looking down at the ice cream. Oh yeah, she'd forgotten. Quickly, she shoved a few bites into her mouth and swallowed them....putting a hand to her head, though, she stopped. "EEP!" she cried, closing her eyes, "Ohmygosh! That was horrible!" At least it passed quickly, though.
Jak cringed in sympathy as she began to eat to fast. "Brain freezes are the worst," he agreed. Spooning a couple more bites into his mouth. Leaving the last bite for Viki.
Viki nodded, "Aha. Well, I'll never do that again, that's for sure," she agreed and finished off the ice cream.
Delicately, she wiped off her hands on her napkin and pulled out some money, "That's my half, right?" she asked, handing it to him. Viki, of course, had no idea about money, but she could hope.
