Since everyone else is making threads about things they hate, I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and tell everyone what's really pissing me off right now.
'Kay? 'Kay.
I hate it when people stop liking someone just because they disagree with you on something, i.e, liking a band. It's such a shallow thing to do to hate someone just because they think your music sucks. Most of you are saying s**t like, "I hate people who say Green Day suck because they don't like one CD" and such. Most of my friends listen to the Black Eyed Peas (D<) and the PussyCat Dolls (D<) which I hate, and they don't like the music I listen to, but we're still friends. But if someone's always bagging out on a band or someone's music then they're being an a*****e. But just 'cause someone says their opinion and it contradicts yours just once, that's no reason to start hating them.

It's not the fact that people have an opinion that *gasp* doesn't agree with their own. It's the fact that they think they're better than you, or the fact that they have to call you stupid or an idiot or whatever for liking that music. I could care less when people like music that I don't like. It's the fact that they go around saying that I suck because I like certain music. Also, personally, music is something that I talk about, a lot. So I'm more likely to make friends on the basis of common musical tastes than something else that means that their musical tastes are different from mine. But that's just a personal thing. I mean, the people that I make friends with on my own, who I don't know just from other people, I'm friends with because we have things in common, and the thing that I usually would tend to go by would be music since that's just such an important thing to me, y'know? I don't know... I guess it just depends on the person or whatever. But also, to me, the way they act about certain musical things can reflect a certain personality trait that I don't like or don't agree with. Not that that would be grounds for stopping being their friend, but it would make things a hell of a lot more difficult...

i know what you mean.......because i like Green Day so much people who dont know me very well go around telling other people that i wont be friends with them unless they like Green Day.....which is a complete lie.....
i am friends with a lot of people who dont like Green Day....
and i agree with you on the musical taste thing....because like you i talk about music all the time....i talk about other things too but all the people i am really good friends with like the same kind of music as me....more or less

I used to be friends with this girl and she was really nice, but just last week in music class we were playing guitar and she comes up to me and asked me what my favourite band was, and I said Green Day of course. Then she says "Green Day suck, you have a really s**t taste in music. I hate you!" Then she walked off. I just think that is a really lame reason to hate someone because, of their taste in music. Most of the people I hang with don't have the same taste in music as I do and I don't hate them, they don't hate me...
EDIT:There is about only one other person in my grade who likes Green Day like I do. So I always talk to him about music.
Also I really hate people who always come up to you and say, I'm so fat, oh you're so skinny, I can't sit on that it'll brake, I'm so damn fat! And they're aren't even fat... They want you to say "No, you're not fat." So when they complain I just say to them, "Yeah, you are fat. You should go on a diet ASAP!" I'm not going to tell them what they want to hear because:
1. I'm an a*****e
and
2.If I do they'll just come up to me the next day and complain again.

I have lost a lot of friends
and gained a lot of enemy's because I like green day..
I really dont understand why people do stuff like that,
its just...I dont know, sometimes I just want to strangle people
But that would be bad rolleyes

i know what you mean. it is just so ridiculouse to end any sort of friendship because of that. i have friends who don't like Green Day and they know i love them but we are still cool. Also I have friend who love rap which i hate and its not like im going to be like you like rap so im not going to be your friend. people who do that are just lame and need to reilize that not everyone can like the same thing and that there no better from anyone else because of what they like mrgreen twisted

We argue about it all the time, but deep down inside were still friends xD

Yeah, its not the difference of opinion--I have friends who disagree with me all the time--it's the idea that they think they know it all, and that what you think it absolutely wrong. "My way or the highway."
It's also the way they say it to you that makes you angry.
I couldn't care less if some one disagrees with what like, I just hate it when the one who disagrees does care about it.

What really pisses me off is when people go up to you and tell you Green Day sucks as if you would care. Everyday, I get about five people going up to me telling me that they suck. One of my friends told me that one kid told her Green Day sucks, and she ignored him. He said it again, trying to make it seem like she'd give a s**t. People hate me and my friends because of our taste in music, and they keep telling us we ruined Green Day. To be honest, the only people who consider Green day a favorite band that I hang out with is four out of ten. FOUR OUT OF TEN! I hate when people believe rumors about you that other people spread because of your taste in music. That might be a bit confusing, but I mean, people that I know of judge me music taste, and all of a sudden they want you to sound bad to them. It's weird and stupid. Another thing that can get extremely annoying is that when you make a new friend and they talk to other people, they tell them not to hang out with you because of your favorite band. People just need to mind their own damn business.

Most of my friends I made before high school, and none of us were really into music as much as we are now. But I have made some new friends through GD, on Gaia and IRL.

i agree but some people are not like that.....a girl at my school comes up to us all the time and asks why we like them....and we tell her....then she goes and makes fun of them in front of us because she knows we like them.....we never say to her face that we dont like her fav bands some people just feel the need to try and force their opinions onto others..... mad rolleyes
