Ok guys i have a question. How will the guild be run? Dm's choice? I was thinking the point assignment system. Where everryone gets the same amount of points to put into there attributes. If anyone has any suggestions please tell me.

to be honest, I'm still in favor of the dice rolling system, point buy seems just bleh. However, It would be a nifty idea to give players a choice, point buy, or dice.
stat rolling is also fun!

Yeah, I usually go with point buy and the standard 25. If I do dice rolls, I do the auto assigned ones, where, for instance, you roll 3 dice for strength, and that's your strength stat. It makes it more realistic: You can't always choose the way your body turns out, so you may have a tough build for a sorcerer or be scrawny for a fighter, but have a really high intellegence. Of course, I will make exceptions in certain cases.

Really that is the only way people will be happy. >.> It is how no one fights.

well, Point Buy is certainly the most fair way of doing it, in terms of not having some people with really high stat characters, and other people with slightly above "hopeless" characters. I think you have to have one or the other, you can't give the players the choice, unless it's letting everyone who's playing choose one or the other, and everyone has to do it the chosen way. It wouldn't be balanced that way, and balance is important.

i'd rather it be run by the roll dice....um...i think we should let the DM pick...and a diff. DM for a diff. game means diff. rules

It should be entirely up to the person DMing the game.

I was thinking there could be a sub forum where there are a lot of sticky threads and each sticky could be a different area of a world to role play or a different style of role play, and a character made in that sub forum could play in any of the stickies depending on what the player wanted to do at the time. I would do this, but I don't have the time to be running multiple games, or even one. I might later(much later) be able to, but not now.

I usually go with 4d6 rolls, drop the lowest die. Then place scores in the stat you choose.
I have done point buy though and liked the character I came out with too.

i'm a big 3d6 six times, then assign stats, though 4d6 drop lowest is good too.
