I suppose that he has emigrated from Morrowind. I found Mai'q the Liar near Anvil. Anyone else seen him? I know that he doesn't stay in any one place for long, and I followed him(not advised, as he is very fast) into a dungeon, and he kept looting chests, barrels, and crates with small items like pitchers and cups in them.
Does anyone know what he searches for? I've tried dropping small items near him, but he doesn't react.
Edit: AHA! I know what he looks for. Strange, but he picks up calipers. I noticed that I wasn't finding any in the barrels he looted, so I took some from the Mages Guild and dropped them on the ground outside of Anvil. It took about twenty minutes, but he came and picked them up.
Although there are a lot of other common items that I normally find that go missing from the barrels he finds. Does anyone know if he looks for anything else?

I've seen him a few times. When you talk to him about rumours he talks about weapons that they didn't put in Oblivion. Like the shurikens and crossbows/bolts from Morrowind. o__o

Who is he? More importantly, what does he do?

Kenac Who is he? More importantly, what does he do? He's a Khajiit NPC placed in the game just for fun.
In Morrowind, he lied about stuff that didn't exist, such as multiplayer.
In Oblivion, he talks more about his strange opinions, rather than lies.
His name is a play on the name Mike, the director of TES, I believe.

His AI has no set path. From the looks of what I've found, he just loots dungeons for calipers. If you see him, talk to him. I've only seen him twice, and one of those times, I had to chase him around Cyrodiil. He's fast too. Try what I did. Drop some calipers just outside of a town, and he'll come eventually. Thehuntress143 One time, I was in Choroll, a message came up on the screen, that Mai'q the Liar was unconcious. heart blaugh He does loot dungeons, and he's not well armed, so one would assume that eventually, something bigger than him would decide to toss him across a cavern. Kenac Who is he? More importantly, what does he do? In Morrowind, he was either South or East(I'm not sure, and I quit the Morrowind Guild, so I can't check) of Sheogorad, on a small island.

In Morrowind, he did more than just lie. He'd mention a sunken Daedric shrine off the coast by Hla Oad, that actually is there.
If you get it fixed, you get Goldbrand, and if you take Goldbrand to a certain mage, and have only a certain amount of gold, and a certain book, you'll get the Eltonbrand.
Crazily enough.

You also have to be a Vampire when you talk to that mage, Silonwe. I also think he told the truth about ONE other thing, though I can't remember what it was.

Yeah, I couldn't remember the specifics myself, and I never bothered with going and getting Goldbrand.
Still, it's pretty cool.
