Well, I'm an astrology junkie (just for the heck of it, I'll let you know I'm a Taurus), and when I was reading the FAQ thread, I came upon the question about Erik's birthday, which said it was October 29, and that the Kay novel said the year was 1831. I was curious of what his signs said about his personality, so I took the birthday of "October 29th, 1831" to
Ephemeris.com to find out what Erik's planetary positions were. My results were a complicated mass of letters and numbers, so I'm going to do you curious souls a favor. For those not astrology-savvy, I have summed up his important planetary positions below:
Sun in Scorpio
Moon in Leo
Mercury in Libra
Venus in Libra
Mars in Libra
Jupiter in Aquarius
Saturn in Virgo
Uranus in Aquarius
Neptune in Capricorn
Pluto in Aries
Chiron in Taurus

Now, I can't be 100 percent sure if this is accurate, but it sure is interesting to know! I'm thinking of putting up interpretations of his planetary positions as well, but if I do, this thread will become practically novel-length. O_o; If you phans really want to find out what all of this means, though, then say so and I'll try to put up interpretations when I have a chance.
Edit: Here are the interpretations of dear Erik's planetary positions. These are from
here, so you can know that I didn't write these myself. I'm not that much of an expert. ^^ Enjoy!
----
Sun in Scorpio: You were born with the Sun in Scorpio, which means that your conscious will is directed towards actions based upon the way you feel, and the way you believe others to feel. Since your feelings are based upon your past experiences, much will depend on the quality of these experiences as you felt them. You may appear to be rather reserved, since you do not say a great deal on first acquaintance, preferring to pick up the vibes first before you decide how to react. You are likely to be deeply involved with all your experience, and to develop strong powers of introspection. As you learn more about what makes you tick, you are likely to develop good powers of working out how others are feeling too. At best you can use this ability to provide a tower of emotional strength and stability, using your understanding to change the way people feel. However there is also a possibility of misusing your considerable emotional pull to manipulate other people by abuse of your understanding of human nature. In either case you are keenly aware that you are aiming for emotional satisfaction and control.
Moon in Leo: With your Moon in Leo, your emotional response to the world and other people is coloured by a conscious desire to pursue your personal goals. You therefore attach considerable importance to your feelings, seeing them as a reliable guide as to how you are progressing towards your chosen ends. You prefer to be at the centre of things, feeling most secure when you are actively involved, for you hope to get positive feedback concerning your actions. You tend to show your feelings readily and honestly, being warmly supportive of those you love, and equally warmly indignant towards those you dislike. You expect others to appreciate you for your ability to demonstrate your feelings openly, and you may be tempted at times to overdramatise your emotional presentation in the hope of gaining approval and praise for your endeavours. This is a short-sighted approach, however, and you will probably find that as you mature you do not need to overplay things to get noticed, for you will already be at the centre of the stage. However you will probably always feel that the world of emotions resembles a play in which you have a key role.
Mercury in Libra: With Mercury in Libra, your conscious attempts to organise your experiences operate in connection with your theoretical overview of the nature of reality in totality. This makes it difficult for you to make quick practical decisions, for before you choose a specific approach to a problem, you have to weigh up the pros and cons of a fair number of alternatives. This may give you a good ability to deal with abstractions, but you may hesitate to commit yourself in practise for fear of closing other options, or you may temporise by making compromises. You are likely to be tactful and diplomatic in speech, and you may prefer others to organise things, unless their plans are distasteful to you to such an extent that you retreat into your world of ideas and fail to cooperate. You will do best to realise that theory and practice are complementary, and that one is little use without the other, then you can develop the ability to separate the planning stage from the execution stage, rendering you able to operate more effectively and with greater confidence.
Venus in Libra: With Venus in Libra, your conscious appreciation of the world and other people tends to be emphasised, for your understanding of the world in general is assisted by your ability to take a relatively objective view of things. You show a positive interest in the world and in relationships, for you understand that you will learn more if you are involved with other people. You are probably fairly easy going, for you are able to see that there are a wide variety of possible ways of approaching a situation, and you are not quick to be critical of any specific approach. You are likely to be well-liked because of your general tolerance, but there is a drawback inherent in your attitudes; you may be so easy-going that you find it hard to commit yourself to any given course of planned action because you can see too many possibilities, or you may pass the buck, allowing other people to make decisions for you. In either case, if other areas of your chart suggest self-assertion to be important to you, you may feel paralysed by your inability to make decisions, but on the whole your ability to compromise will win you more successes than failures. (Note from me, A Rose of May: I think this planetary position is greatly modified by his facial deformity and the effect it had on his life.)
Mars in Libra: With Mars in Libra, your psychological drive towards assertive action based on a conscious appreciation of your emotional attitudes to people and situations is expressed in the context of a strong need to understand the world and other people at an objective level. You therefore engage with other people and the pursuit of understanding enthusiastically, which is fine, but there may be a couple of problems. First you may feel you have to be rather too reasonable, in view of your objective understanding, and you may not stand up sufficiently for your own rights. Following on from this, you may displace your assertive qualities into the realm of the objective, arguing forcibly in the name of reason, or fighting for a "cause". You can eventually develop a suitable balance between the assertion of your own rights and the requirements for cooperation with other people, and along the way you will probably acquire considerable understanding about the way you tick emotionally, and the way other people respond to you; you will then be able to enjoy easier relationships with them. (Note from me again: I also think this planetary position, like the above Venus in Libra, may be modified by his facial deformity's effect on his life.)
--- Note: From here on, the planets Jupiter and Saturn are less personal then the previous planets, which is why these two are called the social planets. It means that they describe you, yes, but not as individually as the previous planets such as the Moon. ---Jupiter in Aquarius: With Jupiter in Aquarius, your upbringing has left you feeling that in order to develop your personal potential to the full, you should try to develop as much understanding about the world and other people as possible. Your personal philosophy of life may be regarded as unusual by some people, for some of your ideas and beliefs about the world stem from an early age, and they affect the way you see the world now. You are a progressive thinker, with humanitarian beliefs that champion the rights of the individual within society, and you tend to come up with new ways of solving problems, having confidence in your ability to think clearly about the larger factors involved in a situation as well as the smaller. For this reason too, you tend to understand the structure and evolution of group processes, and you may well show interest and ability in playing a leading role in group practices. On a larger scale, you are keen to overcome injustice in the world, though this should be attempted in a constructive way, rather than as part of a rebellious outburst of righteous anger.
Saturn in Virgo: With Saturn in Virgo, your upbringing has left you with a conscience structure of which you are acutely aware, for it makes you sensitive about how you organise yourself in the running of your life. You have a keen wish that the details of any plans should be clear-cut and easy to execute, probably because you have a deep-seated fear of chaos and uncertainty. Your development of a capacity for attending to detail is highly useful, and you can develop excellent powers of discrimination. However there is a risk of attending to the details out of context of the wider theoretical and emotional issues, and this can lead to problems. Thus you might become so sensitive about doing the right thing in the right way that you might become quite obsessional, finding useful action blocked by worry over detail. Another possibility is that sometimes you become paralysed into inaction through worry over which of many possible actions to take. Many of these problems will be avoided if you can develop a sense of purpose in life, and if you can take time out to share with others at an emotional level.
--- Yet another note: Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are the most impersonal of the planets. This means that they describe people on a more generational level and not on such a personal level as the Sun, Moon, Mercury, etc. ---Uranus in Aquarius: With Uranus in Aquarius, your prejudices about the world are likely to come to light when you deal with people and the objective world on a large scale, for your belief system about the world, developed from your upbringing, incline you towards developing a comprehensive and objective understanding of the way human nature operates in general. Perhaps your formative years involved the experience of large-scale upheavals, and you had to cope with this by attempting to understand the reasons for this in your own way. In any case, you have rather fixed views about human nature, and you will try to convince others that your understanding of human nature is pretty good. If others disagree with your value system, you will insist on the "correctness" of your point of view, whether you are right or wrong, and you will defend your ideas strongly and stubbornly. You will even resort to disruptive and rebellious tactics if necessary, for you identify so strongly
with your beliefs. While you may show fine humanitarian qualities, and good judgement, you should listen to others' ideas, even if you disagree with them.
Neptune in Capricorn: With Neptune in Capricorn, you feel a strong commitment to develop a personal code of conduct which is moral and correct, and you are keen to achieve your objectives through discipline and application. However, that part of your conscience structure which encourages you to relate to other people according to how you were taught you ought to feel, encourages you along this path, and you are therefore motivated by feelings of obligation. This has a subtle effect on your code of conduct, and it may be that this bears less relation to objective considerations than it does to your need to satisfy either personal needs or the feelings of other people. Since fact and feeling do not always mix well, your motives may be mixed, and this may lead to considerable uncertainty in you as to the correct code of conduct to develop. You may even try to avoid the problem by evading your responsibilities altogether, or by developing a strange rule-system for yourself which appears to be consistent, at least in your own eyes. However, with your fine imagination, you could develop a compassionate life-style which is also realistic.
Pluto in Aries: With Pluto in Aries, that part of your unconscious make-up which urges you to get ahead and to satisfy your personal demands operates particularly strongly, and with compulsive directness. You are able to grasp the essentials of a situation very quickly, and you are keen to see what direct benefit you can gain for yourself. You strive to turn things to your advantage and you will attempt to change either other people or your own motives if this looks like producing a better deal for you. However, if you see that something is clearly impossible, you will rapidly turn your attention elsewhere, for you are not particularly patient. Your ability to transform your environment is something of a double edged weapon, for while it can produce constructive changes if you are wise, you are also capable of creating a certain amount of havoc in the world around you when you act precipitately and without forethought. You need to learn not to abuse your fine pioneering qualities, by involving yourself in rash actions on impulse. You need to learn to keep some power in reserve, waiting for the most effective time to use your creative energies.

And for Chiron in Taurus, I have gotten the interpretation from this website... By the way, along with Uranus and company, Chiron is also less personal a "planet" than the others. ---
Chiron in Taurus: You need to bring about the fullest potential in relation to the enduring and possessive way in which you deal with possessions, and wealth generally. It could be that you are too possessive or you do not allow yourself to be possessive. The solution lies within the problem; it is the other side of the problem. You may find the solution lies in helping others deal with their possessions. You may need to approach the problem in a practical and cautious manner using common sense.
