Welcome to the guitarists lounge of this guild. Lets start this off with some simple questions. What kind of gear do you own?? Ex. guitar, amp, pedals. What are some of your favorite songs to play?? How long have you been playing?? Do you use any special techniques such as tapping?(evh invented this)

Well,
I have an Ibanez GRG. (pretty good actually).
I have a Marshall 20watt amp.(has distortion)
I have no pedals yet.
In about a month, I'll be getting some new gear,
like a Gibson Les Paul, and a wha pedal.
I love to play Stairway to Heaven
xD
I also like to play One, and Enter Sandman.
I finally got around to playing Sweet Child 'O Mine!
Oh, and it's gonna be a year since I started playing guitar.

as for me, i own a fender stratocaster (luv it), a ovation legend (luv it!!!), and a montaya less paul, with a ton of gibson parts in it (like it). It originally was rather sucky, but then we bought some gibson parts and rewired the whole thing. i also have a 75 watt crate amp, and a marshall jackhammer for a pedal. I've been taking guitar seriously for only about a year and a half, and that was really the only time i've made any progress. But truthfully i've been taking lessons 5 years, and if i had taken it seriously then, i'd be insanely good.

Lets see my gear:
Gibson Les Paul Standard w/seymor duncans
Marshal stack
Crate GLX15 (for in the home)
also I sometimes use a digitech RP-50 for a different sound
I really want a Mesa Boogie but they are so damn expensive. However I am getting a Gibson Firebird XII next month.
Music I play:
I play all kinds of different assortments but alot of it nowadays is music I have written or someone else from the band has done. When I'm not playing my own stuff I like to play anything Metallica (Of Course) Iron Maiden, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Cradle of Filth, Slayer, Ozzy, Sabbath (old Sabath) Satrianni, Van Halen, Basically anything with good guitar that is not Country I'll play
In my spare time I have been trying to play a song by Yngwie Malmsteen called "Baroque & Roll" but it is pretty difficult.

kinzoku's got the goods man. He's got all three guitars i plan to own (own 1 already). first i wanted to spring for a jackson, maybe not the rr1 but some kind of jackson, then for a gibson sg. followed by a marshall half stack. that would be the life.

i got a custom b.c rich beast guitar
a dunlop crybaby wha-wha
Ibanez ts 9 (tube screamer i love it)
a boss me-50
and bose ps1 i beleve is what its called. big amp big sound
i use dean markly strings (reg .10)
and i use dunlop tortax picks (green .88 )
my cables besides wireless are monster cable full gold plated
and a live wire gold plated tip

cross hand tapping
palm muting
pinch harmonics
double stops and string skipping
feedback
evrey now and then i do taps
i do alot of p.o and h.o.. alot of them
sweeping evrey now and then even though i dont really like it
and uhh hah playing really fast

I play a Gibson Les Paul Studio (So much better than the standard), pretty much off the shelf. I own a KH-203, and a Yamaha RGX-121S. I use a Hughes & Kettner Matrix Half Stack, with a Boss ME-50, Dunlop Cry Baby, and an Equaliser pedal for company smile
I'd like a Jackson RR5. Nothing with a locking trem though. They're bloody nightmares.

Hey, I'm Anjith, and I play a Jackson RR5 guitar, a Kustom Lead Amplifier, Arion Tube Simulation, and DOD Delay pedals. I've played for two years and I use Picking Hand Fretting (You know this as tapping, but its truly not... Tapping is whenever your twelve frets away from the note you are sustaining and you fret with your picking hand) and I also practice scales and finger picking. I've been playing "Fade To Black" a lot, and my band is working on a record deal with some label called KSY or something, so I write a lot of riffs and try to remember them... (Thats the hard part). I'm the rythym guitar and lead singer of our band. James Hetfield inspired me to do this... and I'm not that bad.

Gear- Fender Stratocaster [almost have enough for a Gibson flying V] Marshall mg30dfx[puts through a crappy sound] Ibanez Tube Screamer Dunlop Crybaby Zakk Wylde overdrive[it sucks a**, complete waste of money] Dean Markley blue steels 11 gauge I intend to own a Boss compression Sustainer and a boss noise supressor as well...eventually Special Techniques- Pinch harmonics Hammer ons and pull offs alot Double stops I do alot of tapping for some reason...im not a big fan of the way it sounds [i dotwo hand and cross hand alot and I include ghost harmonics as well] palm muting and I dont know if this counts but when I down pick my fingernail slightly hits the string before the pick does, it doesn't make a huge difference sound wise but you just feels more natural for me to pick that way. songs- anything Led Zeppelin Nothing Else matters anything faith no more Cowboys from hell Call it stormy monday whiplash Foxey Lady out to get me but I mostly improvise and play my own crap!
