As Serafima once again strode through the library, face a dark mask of tension, Galatea pursed her lips in an attempt to avoid wringing her hands at the sight. Once her bond was safely out of view, though, she once more turned her attention to her guest and the urge to fidget passed. It had been weeks since she had seen Hadrian and they had so many things to discuss. She wanted to tell him everything - how she had taken on a tutor for magic, how Silva had been training her in martial arts, how Soho had given her a lovely present. She wanted to know where he had been and if he was well and if he had been happy wherever he had been.

However, the sound of a cupboard slamming made her jump and the dark-haired feien smiled apologetically at Hadrian. She stood and moved to get the little dollhouse pitcher of water to refill his tiny glass. "I'm sorry for the interruptions, Hadrian," she murmured, clearly pained at the thought that he might be uncomfortable due to her bond's rare display of temper. "And for the rain. If it weren't raining, I could take you out into the park next door... Or we could go for a walk or," she hesitated, "something." It was a lame finish but the sound of another cupboard door going had thrown her again. Her delicate face twisted for a moment in pure misery and she risked a hand to touch his briefly. "I had wanted to give you a nice visit. I'm sorry."

Hadrian wanted to find out how Galatea had been doing...find out what she had been doing. He wanted to tell her about learning to sew and about finding seashells at the beach and all sorts of things, but he didn't like the way she tensed every time her bond strode viciously through the room or how she winced at every loud noise.

He squeezed her hand, warmly. "Its always a nice visit, really. But...is your Captain angry about something? She seems really, er, unhappy today."

Galatea looked down at their clasped hands and frowned. Technically, it wasn't a secret and Hadrian -was- her dearest friend. It was a matter of record with the Fleet. Not that Hadrian ever even recognized the Fleet... She bit her lip for a moment in thought. Then she leaned closer and whispered lowly, "The Capatain has been denied a return to duty again. Dr. Beckham still isn't happy with her progress." She sighed. "The Captain likes to be doing things and she enjoys working for the Fleet and helping people. This inactivity makes her unhappy."

The older feien tilted his head to the side slightly, brows drawing together a bit - a sure sign that he was confused about something.
"Couldn't she do things and help people anyway?" He asked, trying to matcher her whisper, and only half succeeding.

The little female gave the suggestion some thought. "I'm not certain. She did a very specific sort of helping with the Fleet." She tested a faint, lopsided smile on Hadrian; it was obviously supposed to be wry. "I don't think she would make a very good kindergarten teacher and she can't be a doctor."

The fact that she just dared say that Serafima would be less than perfect at anything apparantly did not register or her expression would have been far more horrified. As it was, she merely looked concerned.

Hadrian considered Galatea's ability to suggest her Captain might be less then godly an improvement, but didn't say so. He even tried not to grin at the idea of her being a kindergarten teacher (thought he failed to hide his amusement entirely), since Galatea seemed to very concerned. And truly, with doors slamming and Captain Rabik fuming it was no wonder the younger feien was concerned.
"Do you know what sort of helping she did with the Fleet?"

There was a moment of hesitation and Galatea suddenly became rather interested in the top of the three-legged plastic pizza support that was serving as a table. "I would tell you if I could," she finally explained carefully. "But it is classified." She looked up. "She traveled a lot, though. She told me that she rarely stayed in one place and her longest assignment was an unprecedented two years."

"Oh." Hadrain looked puzzled, as if he wasn't entirely sure what it meant to be 'classified'. "Well...maybe she should travel then?" He offered, sounding a bit like he felt it was a stab in the dark.

Galatea shook her head sadly. She herself would dearly love to travel and see things. She wanted to be like Hadrian and bravely explore. "She must stay in this area for the Director and so she can keep her appointments with Dr. Beckham."

"No wonder she's not happy." Hadrian said, eyes widening a little. "I wouldn't like it very much if someone told me I had to stay here all the time."

"And she only has me." Galatea's face took on such a depressed look that it would have been comical except that Hadrian knew it was one hundred percent honest.

Hadrian looked awefully distressed at that, and shook his head so vehemently that bits of red hair slipped from behind his ears to hang in his eyes.
"That's no reason for her to be sad!"

"I don't know if she is sad... Precisely." Galatea tugged her hand from his, cheeks flushing as she realized that they had been clinging like that for long minutes now. Two fingers immediately went to rub at the inside of the opposite wrist once she was free. "I think she is frustrated. If she were sad... I still don't know what I could do. I try to be a good feien for her." She grimaced. "Though I don't think I'm at all part of the problem. I -think- she is proud of me. I wish I could think of something to engage her mind. My studies in magic puzzle her."

"My mom said once that she finds most people who can't do magic are puzzled by it." Hadrian offered, trying to be helpful. He didn't like seeing Galatea out of sorts.
"If she isn't sad...maybe...she's just bored? Maybe she needs a hobby?"

"Perhaps." Galatea tilted her head to one side and studied Hadrian's face. "Where could I find her a hobby?"
