Away from the craziness of Gaia's main Easter egg hunt where thousands of Gaians are searching frantically for easter eggs is another, smaller hunt. Sponsored by the GMFC and several other shops around Gaia, this hunt welcomes kids of all ages to come and search for eggs hidden all around the park of Barton West Field. Eggs have been hidden all thoughout the park - on the ground, in the bushes, up in trees, under the bridge... if an egg can be hidden there, chances are one has been! There are 50 eggs in all, and each one has something special inside! You might find a small hairclip, or a few gold coins, or some candy/chocolate, or even a certificate! And don't fret, boys and girls, that slip of paper is more than it seems! Each certificate will have something witten on it, and you can redeem it for a very special prize at the end of the hunt! There's also a table set up off to the side with markers and crayons and stickers in every color of the rainbow. Kids can decorate their own paper bags which they can use to hold their eggs! The hunt starts noon on Easter Sunday and goes until all the eggs have been found! So go on, get hunting! smile

FAQ:
Q: Ok, so how does this work, exactly?
A: All posts are to be roleplayed. Each post that you make where your character/child is actively looking for an egg, you can roll TWO 20-sided dice. The first dice tells me whether or not your child found an egg. The second tells me what they won if they did. Children are definately encouraged to look together [Interaction = love. heart ], and please, try to post something more substantial than one-liners. Prizes are nice, but RP is nicer. wink
Q: What do you mean, "actively looking"?
A: It means that in the post, the child is searching for an egg, not just chatting or hanging around.
Quote: Kiana looks up into the tree, high above her head. was that a glint of blue she spotted? Or was it just a bird? She stands on her tiptoes, peering closer and closer into the leaves of the tree. Please let it be an egg, please let it be an egg...
It can be as simple as glancing out of the corner of your eye while talking, or as involved as sticking your head in a bush. XD Just make a reference of sorts.
Q: How do I know if/what I won?
A: On the first die, if you roll a 2, 7, 16, or 20, you've found an egg! If I'm on, I'll post an pixel egg, but if I'm not, feel free to just make one up. As for prizes, you won't know until I tell you. >D I've got a list of what each number represents prize-wise, and will tell you what you've found afterwards.
Note: These odds are subject to change as the hunt progresses if prizes are going too quickly/slowly. Likely, they will drop mid-hunt. I will post in bold if/when this happens.
Q: How long does this last?
A: OOC, it will last from noonish EST on Easter Sunday to sometime Monday night/evening. IC, it'll last for an hour or two starting noon on Easter Sunday.
Q: What happens when the prizes run out?
A: All the eggs have been found! XD Feel free to stick around, though! Kids can compare how many eggs they got, swap candy, whatever!
Q: So do I have to have a GMFC kid to participate?
A: Of course not! Lurkers' OCs and kids from other shops are perfectly welcome. :3
Q: What if my "kid" is too old?
A: They're still welcome to come! ^_^ Maybe they're bringing a younger sibling, or perhaps they're just there to chat with those who are. There'll be some refreshments on a table - sandwhiches, soda, chips, cookies... stuff like that! So feel free to bring them along!
Q: You're participating? That's not fair!!
A: ~__~ Yes, Solaris and Kiana are hunting too. But I follow the same exact rules as everyone else. And as I said, I've got a list as to what number represent what prizes, so I don't get a choice either. XP

 For the best egg hunter of them all is a very special prize! At the end of the hunt, all the eggs each child finds will be tallied up, and the kid with the most eggs will win this egg-stra special trophy!

It's a beautiful day out. The sun is warm and shining in a clear sky - perfect spring weather. Great day for an easter egg hunt!
Solaris, who arrived early with the rest of his family, is sitting at one of the tables, the one designed for coloring, busy scribbling away at a paper bag. Kiana, likewise, is busy pockmarking her bag with a blue marker.
Kaioto and Therlia watch, smiling. The hunt hasn't begun yet, though it will soon, and they're both quite happy to ust relax here for the time being. Therlia, especially, who tends to stay inside the palace mroe often than not. She happily agreed when the empress asked if she would come along with them to the hunt. After all Barton West Field is large and two twin children could go off in very different directions.
Not that she has anything to worry about - the hunt is fairly small compared to the main event, and is sponsored by the GMFC - but still, can't hurt.

"Yeah," she grumbled, "yesterday I just tried to touch his sword and he screamed at me. He's such a jerk, Razito!" Razito stopped suddenly, turning and peering down at Kita, who met him with confused, pupilless glowing eyes. "Now where did you learn a rude word like that?" he asked sternly, the closest Razito ever got to being cross. "Um.... Akivara. She also uses words like bast--" "Don't say that! It's a very rude word." Razito said quickly, but without snapping. "I'll have to have a talk with her about using that kind of language around you." He swept his hair out of his eyes and looked around. "Look, there are some other children. Why don't you go say hi?" He gave Kita a small push and she frowned, cowering in shyness. "They'll just think I'm scary," she said sadly. "Everybody thinks I'm scary."

Hateya slouched towards the tables that she assuemed were for the egg hunt, mumbling something under her breath. Aethelind bounced happily along with her, letting out an excited squeal when he saw the tables. He ran forwards to them, small wings fluttering happily, calling to the harpy over his shoulder that she needs to hurry up. "They so owe me for this one.." Hateya muttered before picking p her pace slightly.

Silent made sure she had everything before they left the house. Looking down at her map, she followed the directions to where the Easter Egg Hunt would be. Thankfully it wasn't too far so both mother and son walked to the event in the beautiful weather. Angelus shoved his hands into his pockets and dragged his feet as he went along. He wasn't used to meeting strangers, especially kids who were not Tale's like he was. Maybe he wouldn't be so bad. Who knew? he thought.
Raising his brown eyes from the ground, he could see a few people in the distance setting up. Well that was good. There wasn't such a big crowd.Silent looked to Angelus and smiled. The boy gave her a small grin. He needed to get out more and meet OTHER people. Maybe this event would help his social skills.

Hearing the squeal and pounding of feet on the grass, Solaris looks up from his coloring to see a very white boy running towards them. He tugs on Kiana's sleeve and says "Hey, Kiana! Check him out! Does he have... wings? Like ours?"
Gently slapping his hand away from her sleeve, Kiana, too, looks up. "I guess... maybe he'll want to hunt with us?"
The idea quite excites Solaris. He'd love to hunt with another boy near his own age, even though he already knows that shiny trophy at the prize table is SO going to be his.

Were entered the site carrying her infant son gurgling an waving his six limbs happily. Beside her walked a fuzzy slipper anthro. Since Graham was really young, Were had brought Kael so that he could help Graham find eggs. No one was too young to enjoy easter. She approached the tables and smiled at everyone else there. Finding a spot to sit she set Graham on the grass and watched him wiggle around trying to look at all the other people. She could perhaps decorate him a bag in a few minutes, for now she just wanted to sit down and enjoy the nice day. Graham wiggled around on the grass, waving his human arms in the air. "Aaah Ahhh" he gurgled happily looking up at his puppy 'babysitter.' "bah!"

Angelus stopped in his tracks. Okay, there was jus too many people now. Humans or not, the crowd was getting bigger. His large black feathered wings rustled in agitation. Silent looked behind her and realized that Angelus wasn't following her. "Angelus! Come on! The earlier we are the more chance we have of finding easter eggs." She coerced the child. Angelus wouldn't move. He wanted one of his pets here and he wasn't sure if Dameon would make it. As soon as he mentioned the banthi in his head, the boy was nearly knocked down when a huge mass of something barreled past him. Angelus smiled with relief and bent down with his arms and wings open. "Dameon!" At least having his companion here would make things easier for him.
Dameon rocketed towards the winged boy and rose up on his hind legs giving him a hug. He wouldn't leave his companion alone and he didn't mean to be late.Silent rolled her eyes at the rambunctious banthi. "Are you two ready now?" Both boy and beast nodded their heads and made their way towards the group.

The only downside to having a house filled with so many kids was -- well, holidays like these, where there were a billion and one separate parties to attend. Lethe, of course, wanted nothing to do with any of these (bunnies? and eggs? what sort of strange logic were these people operating under?!) but her guardian begged otherwise and -- well. She remembered her first Easter party herself -- but she wasn't really in the mood for remnicising right now. "Little squishy things will be good today, yes?" She addressed the two passengers in the stroller she was pushing along, making a face at them when the female giggled and the male snored in response. So she was stuck babysitting Eden and Raziel -- well, as babies go, there could be worse. Lethe attempted to park the stroller somewhere by the grass before moving to lift each baby out. Raziel was easy enough; he was very small and light still and the Fa'e managed to balance him in her arms, half-draped across her shoulder as she struggled with the more rambunctious Eden. Eden went on the grass, a makeshift collar snapped around her neck and a leash that Lethe held at one end. If the small girl had any idea how ridiculous this all was, she said nothing, but instead burbled happily and pounced on the nearest dandelion, stuffing the flower into her mouth before spitting it out and staring at Lethe indignantly as if she were personally responsible for its bad taste. Lethe sighed, giving a half-hearted tug at the least. "C'mon, Ed, everybody is that way. Let's go say hello."

Kita made her way to an empty spot on the table with the bags and markers and sat down nervously. She tried to say "Hi" to the winged boy and girl like Razito said, but all that came out was a frightened squeak. She shook her head and scratched her arms; the jacket that Akivara had made her wear made the fur on her arms itch.
Looking carefully to make sure Razito wasn't watching, Kita took the jacket off and put it under her seat. The breeze brushed against her arms, and she smiled for the first time since she had shown up here; it was nice.
The hellhound-girl looked around the table of markers and other drawing utensils, and picked up a bag delicately, as if afraid it would break.

A car pulled up with a jerk, skidding slightly in the mud. For a few moments it sat there.
The passenger door swung open, almost breaking from the force, as a girl flew out of the car as fast as she could, long green pigtails tied with long pink ribbons dancing behind her. She was flushed and excited, dressed in jeans and a t-shirt that looked brand new. The latest fashion! At least, they would look like the latest fashion, and they would look brand new... if they didn't already have splatters of mud, dirt, and a tear in one knee. Tiegan didn't seem to mind at all.
Elle climbed out of the driver's seat. She was just as flushed, though it was clearly more from being flustered. She'd only just gotten her license. But in the test there were no excited girls to talk with. And she couldn't claim help from her insurance company if Tiegan accidentally broke something. Like a door.
And Elle was tempted to call a taxi home. There hadn't been any training for this. But Elle was being paid to take Tiegan here, and she was kind of looking fun to it herself. So she sighed, shoved the keys in a pocket, and followed Tiegan to where she'd plonked herself at the paper bag decoration table.
