Pulling her pink and white covers up over her head, Tsukino Usagi groaned. "Iie..." came a muffled whisper. "7-ji han desu..." That certainly woke the girl up. Sitting bolt upright, Usagi's eyes latched onto the form of her brother... A brother already ready for school. "Shingo! Why didn't you wake me up sooner?!" she shouted, jumping from bed and running toward her closet. The boy sighed, "Because okaasan told me to now... You're going to be late..." he replied in a sing song voice. Though, once outside his sister's door, the youth laughed. Before the sun rose on that beautiful spring morning, Hino Rei, the maiden of the Hikawa Shrine was awake. She was kneeling dressed in the proper robes of the miko (priestess/shrine maiden), in front of the sacred shrine fire. Her eyes were trained intensely on the flames, as if she were trying to read what they were telling her. In fact that was the exact truth, a fire reading, it was called. She had sensed odd things in the city that morning, and even her dreams left her wondering what was going on. Hence the early rising before school to do this reading.
"...Come on now..." Rei begged with the flames to show her something, anything. And then it came, the flash of the next youma. It did not tell her however, where or when it would strike. But she knew now, she had to be on her guard. Bowing to the fire before she stood, a determined look on her features. She would not let these youma run wild, not with her new found power as the Sailor Senshi of Mars.
A glance to the window told her the sun had been long up, and she would be late for school if she didn't leave right then. Sighing to herself she went to her traditional looking room and would change into her school uniform, grasping to her school bag and homework before leaving her shrine and heading down the walkway for another mundane day at her private school, away from the rest of the senshi.

"Usagi..."
The girl with the odangos in her hair sighed, handing the paper over to her friend.
Makoto frowned, glancing over the sheet. "You failed... again..."
"Well, how am I supposed to study when we're always busy?" Usagi asked as the two walked toward Crown Karaoke parlor. "I mean, I tried to study yesterday but..."
"But you were listening to the new Aino Minako cd... weren't you..."
Usagi looked away, her guilt obvious.
With a sigh, Makoto stepped in front of her much shorter friend, her arms folded over her chest. "Looks like I'll just have to help you then. Study session this weekend, hm?"
Usagi's eyes brightened, "Arigatou Mako-chan!" she cried, hugging her friend.

The day at school had been everything typical for Rei. She had been stared at, called a witch, everything in the book really that was normal for a day at her school. Despite her hatred of karaoke, she found herself wandering into the Crown Karaoke parlor again, flashing her passport that Luna had given her after discovering she was a senshi, and then wandering wordlessly into the designated room.
Rei sighed some, setting her things down and taking a seat in her usual chair. No one else was there yet, not even Usagi or Luna. It would give her time to think... something she did too much of according to some people.

Even as Makoto and Usagi entered their usual room at Crown, they could something was bothering their friend.
"Rei-chan!" Usagi cried, rushing down the steps and hugging the girl from behind. "Guess what! Mako-chan's going to help me study this weekend. Do you want to come study with us?"

If there was one thing to break her moment of thought and silence it would be Usagi. Her eyes opened suddenly as she didn't even remember closing them, and found herself hugged tightly by the hyperactive girl. Eyes remained wide for a time before she raised a hand and offered a kind smile to the girl. "...I would but, I don't know what you're studying, besides I go to a different school from you, remember?" Baka Usagi, really sometimes the girl had moon rocks for brains but... she meant well, and Rei knew that. Which was why she was trying her hardest to be kind.

Usagi frowned, folding her hands in front of her, "But... but you can study whatever it is that you need to."
By now, Makoto had sat down as well. "She's right actually. You could come and study anything you need. Besides," and the girl smirked. "I'm gonna make the snacks."
This of course brightened Usagi's frown, "Really?!" she asked, eyes going to the taller girl.
"Hai."
"Ohhhhh, Rei-chan, isn't that the best incentive to come?!"

Rei could tell when she was out numbered, and smiled then to her two friends. Something she never had before, friends. Still was so strange to her. "I guess I'm out numbered here... I'll join you..." If only for Makoto's wonderful food, she would be there. She really didn't have much to study but she would anyway, besides it would be a nice chance to get to know Usagi and Makoto better. Such un Rei like thinking, wanting to know people better...

Usagi yelled with delight, hugging Rei again.
"Ano... Usagi... nani o shite imasu ka?" Makoto asked in confusion as she saw the odango haired girl run toward the karaoke machine.
Usagi turned, her smile huge. "This calls for a celebration! Karaoke!"
"Demo... Rei-chan doesn't like karaoke."
"I'm not making her sing... I'm singing!" Usagi replied with a wink.

"She better not make me sing..." Rei said simply as she had resisted the urge to smile at Usagi. Such a bubbly personality, she authentically cared for those she called friends, that was for certain. But still Rei's hatred for karaoke ran deep, she would not in any manner ever sing in a place like this for any reason. And it seemed that Makoto and Usagi knew that. "But have fun Usagi-chan..." And if anything grab Makoto to join you... not me...

And... oddly enough... that was exactly what Usagi did.
"Hayaku, Mako-chan!" Usagi called, pulling the taller girl up onto the mini stage and handing her a microphone.
Makoto laughed, but she went along with it anyway.
"Doushiyou mo nai shoudou ni tsukiugokasarete ima." Usagi started off, singing with everything she had.
With a smile, Makoto joined in. "Watashi no sore wa hajimatta kimi wo motomeru omoi."
The girls linked arms, singing as they walked around in a circle to the beat. "Yotei chouwa no shousetsu ya eiga ga tsumaranai you ni. JINSEE mo sukoshi ZUREtara omoshiroi no kamoshirenai."

Rei simply sat there and shook her head. Really those two were hopeless. She disliked karaoke, especially now. It gave her a headache as she put two fingers on the center of her forehead, right between her eyebrows and started to meditate to block it out.
And that was when Mizuno Ami finally arrived in the karaoke center. She smiled at seeing Usagi, Makoto and Rei there all ready. "Konnichiwa minna!" She yelled over the music, not being shy about doing such a thing anymore. Offering a bit of a wave from the top of the stairs, she soon came down to sit in her usual chair, the blue one, next to Rei who seemed to be meditating.
And out of nowhere it seemed popped Luna, the cute little guardian cat. She shook her head and would glance around at Rei, that girl was hopeless, she needed to learn how to have some fun. Ami seemed to be smiling and moving along with the music too, as Usagi and Makoto put on a show. It was nice to see everyone happy for a change. Life as a Senshi was hardly easy...

Usagi didn't even wait to finish the song.
Her face brightened as she ran over to Ami, still holding the microphone in her hands.
"AMI-CHAN!" she cried, flinging herself at the girl and hugging her.
Makoto laughed, setting her own microphone down and turning off the music. "Our singing couldn't have been that bad, Rei-chan..." she spoke with a mock frown as she sat down in her own chair.

Rei simply shrugged somewhat remaining silent, however she did open her eyes long enough to smile and glance at Ami and Luna before she went back to being quiet. She didn't know why she disliked karaoke so much, she just did...
"Usagi-chan!" Ami nearly fell out of her chair as the other girl hugged her like that. Naturally however she returned the show of affection and hugged the hyper girl back. "Gomen-nassai for interrupting you and Mako-chan's karaoke..." Though she was sure Rei-chan didn't mind that she had...
