If the chameleon circuit wasn't broken, and the Doctor didn't have a particular fondness of the 1950's Police public call box shape, thus allowing the TARDIS to actually blend in, how do you think it would look in modern day UK/USA/your country of origin?
Sadly, the only fairly common large blue boxes that you find in the UK are portaloos outside building sites, and I'm sure he wouldn't want it to look like that.

Personaly I think there is nothing wrong with the circut and the TARDIS is having a joke on the doctor and she just likes being a police box.

Aiden_Wolfspirit The TARDIS is a she. The Doctor has always refared to her as 'old girl'. That's just what people call ships, the TARDIS is genderless (being a machine and all)...

a pillar box  or a red phone box or just an ordenary phone box although I don't know how the last two would work cos of the glass. It would be very funny though to see Rose and the Dr getting out of a portaloo together! rofl
