Here is a PM I sent to miyuki. Delara Why did dj medieval get banned from Gaia? He posted what would OBVIOUSLY be a joke to anyone with two brain cells to rub together, and apparently someone without said brain cells reported him and a mod didn't bother investigating, just took action. Basically the post that he made said that "my wife has taken an interest in programming, but I'm worried that the frequent use of the '$' character would make her want to go shopping and spend my money." One of his ideas for dealing with the situation was to "make her watch Richard Simmons until she cries." Um. If it wasn't obvious before that it was a joke, anyone with a brain could realize it now. By the way: I'm his wife. I married the guy in real life, I introduced him to Gaia, and quite frankly I thought his post was funny. Here is the response I received. miyuki Not everyone finds spousal abuse funny. As far as the thread went I read through every post located within that thread and found it degrading towards women and I sent him a quote from the ToS to uphold the decision. It was an obvious trolling thread, anyone could obviously decern that his wife was not beaten and that it was a joke, yet it was a joke looking for people to get upset. Trolling is not permitted on Gaia as well as abusive and defamitory statements. Let's see. It's an obvious joke, but it was a joke looking to make people upset? How would it make people upset if it's so obvious? Never mind the many, many obvious troll threads that the mods happily ignore. I guess it's okay to troll if you're talking about homosexuals or something. They might want to update the ToS with that. The ban ends in three days. Feel free to PM a mod and complain if you'd like.

One is for sure - The Chatterbox needs new mods.
And I think that complaining would result in temporary banning as well, since it seems that they aren't giving warnings anymore.
Poor Medieval. sad
And yes, the thread was funny. I wasn't suprised that the thread got deleted, but banning?

My main question would be, since when was watching Richard Simmons videos considered a form of spousal abuse? The mods need a good cleaning out. Just yesterday I lost my signature because it was six pixles to big. Now looking around I see larger and more blatant "violations". My guess would be someone has their panties in a knot and wants to take their aggrivation out on anyone they deem "lower". Your husband being banned is just another form of moderator lunacy and abuse of power. Some people should not be made mods, and if they are made mods, they should be subjected to stringent psychological exams before hand. Simply being around "long enough" does not give you valid credit for being turned into a mod. Bastages.

What, they ban our precious dj medieval for making a joke thread, and some weak-willed, oversensitive asshat takes it too seriously and thinks it's gone "Too far", but they don't take all those "You suck" threads into account? What the hell, people! At least medieval's thread was remotely friendly and implied as a joke; you don't see stuff like that in other threads that are actually meant to troll.
It's also obvious that the pieces of crap who reported him for being oh so cruel have been in many flame wars. Ten bucks says that they haven't reported a thing.
I should kill everyone in the Chatterbox...

I'd really like to know how moderators are chosen, anyway. Do you have to know the admins personally? It doesn't seem like they talk to Joe Everygaian very much. Do you have to be a prominent member? A lot of them are well-known for being assjacks, not because they'd make good moderators. I know I'd make a good moderator (a very laid-back, responsive one, anyway), and I'm betting a lot of people in this guild would make better moderators than the ones there are now, from the horror stories I've heard. Stuff like this is just ********. I wouldn't be surprised if Miyuki knew someone who was abused or something, because it just seems like she was way too touchy about it. A lot of people are raped, too, yet the "Concerning rape/molestation threads" sticky seems fairly new. At least I never noticed it before. How could so many people get by making rape threads that they would make a sticky about it before banning them all?

Mostly it's people who wish to aid in the benefit of the subforum/thread. The ones I know are in the Sports forum constantly and aid in getting rid of all the non-sports related articles that always pop up there. They're all regulars and very nice. I don't know any other Mods, personally, so I could just be a lucky dude. And on the subject of the matter. THAT'S BULLSHIT! Stab her in the face! IN THE ******** FACE! >.>
