The title says it all. Which Lupin character designs are your favorite? They've been re-envisioned by so many different artist, it's always neat to see the new interpretations.

So here are mine.

Favorite Fujiko design: 1971 series
I've never actually seen the original series, but I love the vintage look of this character design that's very representative of the early 1970's.

Favorite Goemon design: 2nd series
Some of the other character designs make his face real thin or bean shaped, which looks really ugly. I prefer the simple, oval shape of this design that makes him look appropriately somber and serious.

Favorite Zenigata design: Castle of Cagliostro
Most designs of Zenigata just make him look silly but Miyazaki's more realistic, stronger looking Zenigata really befits the more admiral than usual role he plays in this movie.

Jigen never changes that much.

And of course...

I like the same Fujiko design as you do. The first series is really, really, really good. 3nodding

I have to look at the designs for the other Lupin charcters. ninja

That picture of Goemon is from Cagliostro.

As for myself, I really like the designs from the 2nd series the most, although they changed around a lot according to who was directing. Also, I like Fujiko's design from the first series a bit better.

For Fujiko, I'm not sure. The Mamo one was closer to the manga in terms of how the hair was drawn, but Fujiko's eyes in the second series were my favorite. So maybe a mix of second series, and Mamo Fujikos? It really annoys me when she looks cross-eyed (Which happened in the first series, a tad bit in Mamo, and in the third series) though.

The first series design is pretty, it just doesn't sceam Fujiko to me.

For Jigen, DEFINITELY the third series (although, I've never actually seen an episode, just opening themes and episode previews).

For Goemon, I'm not really sure, probably one of the TV Special designs.

And for Lupin, probably the second series/first contact(Although I haven't seen first contact either, just a clip or two). They make him look like a smart-a**, which I like.

As for Zenigata, I've seen a couple clips of one movie where I really liked his design. I think it was Return of Pycal/The Magician, but I'm not sure on that one.

For Jigen&Goemon, the designs in Return of Pycal were awesome, but I've only seen a tiny clip of that, so I don't want to judge that yet.
