Pysical Appearance: Average build. Tan skin. Light brown hair, almost orange due to a previous bleaching experience, cut short, slightly curvy. Dark gray eyes. A mole near the mouth. Often seen wearing loose clothes and a pair of washed-off pink baskets. Accurate picture at the right.
Personality:Kinda shy, a bit drawn back. Gets easily pissed off however. Dependant, feels obligated to rely on someone else, but won't trust men easily. While at first seeming determinate to reach her objectives, she has the bad habit to push them off for later, and finding new goals to reach. (IN PROGRESS)
History:Carmen was born in a hispanic familly at New York. She has a 20 year old brother, Juan. Her mother, Maria, used to be a nurse but left work as soon as she stopped working. Her father, Rodrigo, is providing the money in the familly as well as Juan. As a kid, Carmen was beaten up by her father, and as a teen, she wanted to be like the girls form her class, breaking their boyfriends to drain gifts and money from them. She managed to get laid with a classmate in last year.
After school, she attended university, but obviously, she wasn't good enough for it. Therefore, she went to live with her boyfriend, Paolo, who did not ended up broken and broke, but took advantage of her. Not having qualifications nor independance, she couldn't apply for a steady job, and went under the humiliation of doing student jobs. That, until she got the guts, after many years, to leave him, after seeing this Feral Labs ad in a journal, wanting people to test new treatments. Wanting to do something useful of her life, but most of all, wanting an occasion to leave her boyfriend without having to look for an appartment, she applied.

-Had a catholic education, but has more of an atheist philosophy.
-Wanted to raise lizards back in childhood. Gave up after one lizard she caught appeared to be a small snake that bit her. Has issues with legless animals since then.

Why she was chosen to come to the island?she's finally left her boyfriend and saw an ad, where the Feral Labs looked for someone for "testing". This work implies testing medical products and injections. Not having enough education for this, she didn't think about the consequences on her health and life. That's why she accepted to fly on an helicopter to the main labs, to be part of an important months-long program. Or so they said. Anyway, the supposed length of the program isn't too scary, since she looks for both a place to momentarily live in and earn money before finding an appartment back to the city.
Why a Mantis?Carmen hates men. She's not so feminine. She is dominated. A mantis EATS males. When talking about these insects, females come to mind, not males. Those are dominating grass-sized beasts. And Moreau seems to have a thing for irony. So there.
And there are not enough insects and I'm fascinated by mantises.(IN PROGRESS)
