Okay, "el barco" is Spanish for "boat", right? Well, in this song in our songbook at church, there's a song that has "mi barca", and from context and translation I know it's "my boat". But, why is it -a, not -o? Does this have to do with boats being female?

Mi is a feminan word unlike El which means him, making it a masculine word.

I take spanish 1 so I'm guessing barca is the feminine version of boat like pluma.

Kohana Ichibana Mi is a feminan word unlike El which means him, making it a masculine word. I thought "Mi", meaning "My", didn't change the word, since the word is a noun, not an adjective, and shouldn't change its ending?

I'm doing my Spanish homework so I decided to look in my dictionary
Barco (m) = boat, vessel, ship Barca (f) = small boat
So, perhaps it's just a small boat. ^^
