((An Rp thread for an extended playdate between Osusuki and Blanche.))
The day couldn't have been more perfect. The sea trailed lazily at the shore, lapping up over each end of the sandbar in almost perfect unison. In the middle, three characters plodded along. The smallest of the three weaved in-between her Guardian's legs, never swaying further than a few inches from those dark brown paws. Bright yellow eyes followed the road ahead, watching mile after mile of sand relay before the pair of them.
"Come on slow poke," Stopping, Emi turned on her heel to glance at the dog. Lagging right behind the pack, Toby's head cocked up at the remark. Defiantly, he placed his rump back down onto the soil. Even if it was starting to cool down, the Island was still a very hot place for a very shaggy dog. Large hazel eyes glared at his owner, tongue lolling out from his muzzle. There was no way he was walking much further.
Blanche, by this point, had trotted a few steps in front of them. Circular eyes still straight forwards, she suddenly skidded to a halt. Turning a full ninety degrees, her golden eyes darted around for her guardian. White feathers plumed out around her chest; making her rather look like a small indignant puppy rather than a fox. One white paw wavered in the air, the gryphon taking a bounding leap back to the shadows. She skidded on the sand before Emi's paws, almost twirling on the spot as a spray of sand filtered out before the pair of them.
"Just a little further, I promise." Emi coaxed, ducking down. They'd already walked quite a way from the village, and in all truth Toby wasn't the only one suffering from the heat boring down on them all. Her large tail swished behind her, sending a further splash of sand flying into the air- each speck falling like fairy dust back onto caramel fur.
Not convinced, had Toby been a human he would have rolled his eyes. Dragging his weary paws up, he plodded the final few steps towards his guardian, pressing his muzzle forwards towards the pair of them. Despite himself, his tail swished from one side to the other behind him, black pointy ears twitching into the wind.
Blanche's black beak opened for a moment, trotting between Toby's flight path. She weaved between his paws, agile white paws not even hastening to loose her footing. Quick and nimble, she tucked her wings against her side, following the border collies every footstep with six of her own. Even she'd barely noticed the distance they'd now traveled onto the other Island - neither did she notice the mass of greenery up ahead.

"Come on Sash'ka, Yassu! Hurry up!" Osu's voice rang out over the sound of the tide lapping gently at the shore. Kicking up clouds of sand as he moved, the young spellweaver darted over the beach before abruptly spinning around in a pirouette to face his guardian. He remembered coming this way before when they had gone onto the big bridge of sand. That big tower had been there for a start. He wondered if that's where they were going again.
Bouncing impatiently, despite the heat of the sun burning above, Osu waited for Ieyasu to catch up.
Sasha made it to him first, her soft paws leaving little depressions in the dry sand as she bounded up to him. Skidding to a slightly undignified stop, the tiger gryphon picked herself up again and shook the particles of sand clinging to her fur. She then paced around behind Osu nonchalantly, as if her clumsy stop had never happened.
Stopping behind the spellweaver, the gryphon cocked her head, eyeing Osu's bushy tail with her sharp blue eyes. Craning her neck towards it, she gave it a gentle nibble. It was just too tempting to resist!
Ieyasu caught up to the pair just as Osu burst out into a fit of giggles. Smiling at the pair, he glanced up at the sun high in the sky and then over towards the old watchtower and the forest.
"It's getting hot out here now. Why don't we find somewhere a bit shadier and we can have a snack, hmm?"
"Ok!" Osu nodded emphatically in agreement. "Can I get a drink too, Yassu? I'm thirsty..."
"Yep. Let's head up over there-" Ieyasu pointed over to the edge of the forest "-and find somewhere good to sit."
As usual, as soon as he knew where they were going, Osu dashed off ahead. Ok, so maybe they weren't going over the big bit of sand yet, but it was cool here too!

Emi's long tail swished along the sand, seconded only by a slight flick of both furry ears a moment later. She could have sworn she'd heard a child. Shaking her head, she turned her thoughts back to the situation at hand. Extending her fingers to ruffle Toby's fur, Emi glanced back over her shoulder. A glint of green shone behind them, the outline of the trees clearly visible from this distance. There, they could go and rest there before attempting the long trek back home.
"We'll go sit under those trees and eat lunch, alright?" Scratching behind one dark black ear, Emi slowly pulled herself back up onto two paws. Lunch wasn't quite lunch - rather, she'd made a jam sandwich and then brought a few dog biscuits with her. Yet, it seemed a comforting thought at this point in time. One paw before the other, Emi smiled back on down towards her canine and charge.
Weaving through Toby's back paws, Blanche met Emi's gaze with her own. Tail still swishing behind her, she darted forwards for a moment, skipping from one paw to the other. Her white paws sped up off the ground, much like a horse would for dressage, pinning each white paw into the air before replacing it back down onto the ground.
Despite herself, Emi chuckled. Completely like a child in a playground, she skipped alongside her Aerandir gryphon. Her arms waved into the air with each step, the travel bag she held on one shoulder falling back and forth against her side with each elongated skip. The pair of them set the pace, each skipping alongside each other like two children in a playground; each testing out who would falter or stop the sequence first.
At a far slower pace, Toby followed on behind the pair of them. Tail swishing from one side to the other, he slowed down his pace, seeming to halter rather than pick up his speed to follow alongside them. The spoil sport, he wasn't one to join in this time.

Reaching the shade of the trees, Osu bounded behind one large trunk, catching hold of it with one hand and swinging his body around to the other side with a giggle.
"Here?" he asked, skipping over a protruding root to meet Ieyasu as he arrived. "'s all shady an' stuff."
"Yup, here looks good," the kitsune replied, sliding his backpack from his shoulders and setting it down on the ground. Crouching to unfasten the zip, Ieyasu began to rummage about inside, looking for the things he needed. With a high pitched chirp, Sasha slipped around his legs to nose at the pack. She was thirsty too and she wanted a drink. Sitting back on her haunches, the gryphon stared directly up at Ieyasu and chirruped insistently, her long, striped tail swaying from side to side.
"Ok, ok, it's coming." Pulling a small bowl and a couple of cups from his pack and setting them down on the ground, Ieyasu then returned to the bag for his bottle of water. Unscrewing the bottle's lid, he poured a drink for both young Aerandir, before pouring a cup for himself. Sasha made her way to the bowl before lapping up the water eagerly. Just as Ieyasu was taking a drink from his own cup, Osu spoke up suddenly, staring across towards the sand bar.
"Yassu, look, look! Someones coming, an' I think theres a 'nadir too. No, two! Ones all big an' stuff and ones liddle!" Still holding his cup, Osu began to hop from one foot to the other excitedly, sloshing a little of the liquid onto the ground.
"Careful - you're spilling your drink." Ieyasu replied, standing up and making his way to where Osu was standing. Osu was indeed right - there were three figures that he could make out, and they appeared to be approaching. He didn't think that there were two Aerandir though - one was far bigger than any gryphon he'd seen yet - even Nehanda when she was a gryphon - and didn't have wings either.
Grinning, he called out loud. "Hello there!" Raising his free hand, he waved to the three figures. Hopefully, they'd spot him.

Emi skidded to an abrupt halt, large blue eyes widening as she caught sight of the three waving ahead. Cheeks burning a brilliant shade of dark brown, she tentatively lifted one furry hand- slowly waving back in return. Just like a domino affect, one bumped into the other. Blanche's white head bobbed up to gaze at Emi, white ears flickering on the spot. Her paw wavered in the air, standing a still statue of what had been the skipping from before.
Plodding behind them, the old dog peered around one furry knee. Slowly, his tail thumped too and fro behind him. Shade was within reach, so why did they stop? Rather dumb-founded by the concept, he pressed forwards, jauntily padding over towards the three people.
There was no going back now. Inhaling a deep breath, Emi did her best to smile; though anybody could read from her body language alone she wasn't the greatest in the world at matters of socialization. "Good morning!" Emi called out not quite as loudly as the kitsune had. Her tail swished around one leg, metallic blue orbs glancing down to the gryphon beside her. Wide-eyed, Blanche suddenly ducked right behind Emi's paws. Bright yellow eyes squinted to view the three people up ahead in the trees, the Aerandir's tail curling around between her legs. Her small ears flicked right back to her head, pulling one delicate white paw behind the next.
"Let's go meet those people, eah?" Bending down; the guardian offered her arms out. Compromising, the little gryphon crawled up onto Emi's furry arms, pressing her white cheek into the woman's t-shirt. Golden eyes watched Emi, furry white cheek nestled against her guardian's t-shirt. Her wings flicked as they got closer, shuffling so the set of black and white speckled wings spread out over either side of her lithe body.
Not quite as apprehensive as the other two, Toby made it to the three before both guardian and charge. Thumping his tail behind him, he promptly collapsed as soon he was on the shade - resting his muzzle down onto his paws without even apprehending the three sitting near. Tongue lolling out, his ears flicked lightly, watching the two follow on behind him.

Ieyasu grinned as the humanoid figure returned his call and wave. He had originally thought that she was human when he had first spotted her from a distance, but he could see now that it was not the case. She had a tail for a start, and seemed to be covered in fur. Yet, she wasn't an Aerandir, as she clearly didn't have wings. The kitsune's next thought was that she was perhaps a fox spirit too, but quickly discounted that idea too. In all honesty, he didn't know exactly what she was. Not like it mattered, though. Ieyasu had come across his fair share of beings of all shapes and sizes, and not much fazed him when it came to that. With the exception of dragons and oni, of course.
Taking a few steps forward to meet the trio making their way towards them, Ieyasu watched for a moment. The girl seemed to be uneasy - perhaps nervous about something. Furrowing his brow slightly, Ieyasu turned to glance quickly behind himself before looking back again. They didn't look intimidating or anything, did they...?
On the other hand, Osu was oblivious to any signs of unease that the other group had. All he had noticed was that there were new people arriving; he didn't know them and they looked like fun! Waving an arm energetically and hopping on the spot, the little spellweaver called out to them cheerfully. "Hiya!!!~" The big 'nadir was nearly there now. He was huge! And fluffy, too! With a delighted giggle, the young Aerandir bounded over to him before stopping a few feet away. With his bushy tail flicking back and forth, Osu greeted him with a grin almost wide enough to split his face.
"Hiya!! I'm Osu, what's your name? You're huuuge! Are you a 'nadir too? How come you don' have wings??" It didn't matter that Toby couldn't answer Osu's torrent of questions - he was going to ask them anyway.
Meanwhile, Sasha had also been paying attention to the three newcomers. She was just a little more discreet about it. Pausing next to Ieyasu's feet, she stared at them intently for a moment. These newcomers all looked very different to the people that she knew. This required further investigation!
Slowly, and not breaking her stare once, the gryphon began to creep forward, placing each paw down carefully as she moved. She lowered her head, holding it horizontal to her body, and her pale tail swayed slowly from side to side. Not that she was scared or anything, of course, but it was always good to take your time when investigating something new. And that thing that was closest... it was really very big afterall...

The old dog hadn't expected the downpour of questions. Large black ears flicking against his head, his large hazel eyes met with that of the young spellweaver. Toby's tail thumped behind him, the rough border collie slowly tilting his head to one side - cocking his muzzle over to gaze at the child Aerandir with a look that couldn't have been classified as anything else but bemusement.
It didn't take long for the other two to catch up, rather; they sped up a little as Ieyasu took a few steps forwards. In light of the six foot man before her, Emi felt like a dwarf at four foot. The large ears upon her head twitched, brown furry tips picking up the last two questions. It was enough to pronounce a real smile from one furry tipped ear to the other. The female chuckled, glancing over to address the child Aeandir. "That's Toby, he's a rough border collie I'm afraid. Soft as a fly mind," Her voice softened, Emi watching the little spellweaver for a moment. Wait, was he a fox?
The bundle held tight in her arms twitched her ears, following her gaze down towards the stalking gryphon who was apparently staring them over. Smaller ears twitched, leaning forwards within her guardian's grasp. Despite herself, curious yellow eyes gazed at the white and brown gryphon. She opened her beak to click in welcome, but promptly decided against it. Paws shifting behind her, she shifted further back against Emi's t-shirt.
"Hello, sorry, I didn't quite expect to meet anyone," Emi started with, her voice faltering to start with. It took her a moment, but gradually she slipped back into a less static tone. Her long tail flicked one last time, awkwardly offering her hand out. It wasn't easy keeping a shoulder bag left on one shoulder, holding an Aerandir, and somehow managing a handshake at the same time; but Emi did it. "I'm Emi, and this one's Blanche." Always best to start with introductions. As the tips of her ears twitched, she grazed her teeth over the edge of her lip- what if he didn't take her hand?
The gryphon's eyes flicked up as her name was mentioned. She clicked in questioning, lowering her head towards her paws for a moment. Yet, her gaze didn't stay solely on Ieyasu. Rather, she kept flicking back too and fro between the interesting man before them and then even more interesting gryphon on the floor.

As the lady spoke to him, Osu turned to look up at her curiously. Hey, she looked kinda cool! She was all furry like he was, but she didn't have wings either. Maybe she was like Yassu? He had big ears and tails and stuff too. Only.. he put them away somewhere when he was awake. Osu only knew he had them because he'd seen his guardian asleep. Maybe he'd ask her later. But for now..
"Hiya! I'm Osu!" he replied cheerfully, before looking at her questioningly. "Whats a 'ruff border collee'?" he asked, before looking back at Toby again. He looked so fluffy! Osu had never met a dog before, and he was naturally curious.
"Ah, neither did we actually. We just decided to take a walk today out of Cetalu." Ieyasu grinned, glancing over at first Osu and then Sasha. "Nice to meet you though. The name's Ieyasu, and that little one there sneaking up on you is Sasha," Ieyasu replied to Emi's introduction. He didn't introduce Osu, since the bouncy little spellweaver had already done that for himself. As Emi extended her hand, Ieyasu reached out to shake her hand. He wasn't exactly used to such gestures, tending far more to casual introductions, but he was happy to respond to them.
"Are you guys from the other island then?" he asked with a smile, his aquamarine gaze flickering up to the sandbar a short distance away. He didn't think he'd ever seen them around Cetalu village, and now that the crossing was there, it was much easier to go between islands.
Sasha continued to creep towards the big person holding the white gryphon. When she realised that the white gryphon was paying attention to her, she stopped, turning her attention to Blanche. Why was she all the way up there?
Deciding to abandon the pretense of stalking, Sasha sat back on her haunches and gave a high pitched series of chirps, directed at Blanche. These new arrivals certainly looked interesting!

"Nice to meet you Osu," Smiling down towards the young spellweaver, Emi glanced from Blanche and then back to the red Aerandir before her. Those ears and tail were un-mistakable. Swishing her tail along the floor, the guardian loosened her grip on Blanche; meaning the gryphon would either have to greet the other gryphon on the floor, or dart onto the edge of her rucksack. She'd hoped for the first, but the latter seemed to be the more obvious choice for the arctic gryphon.
"A rough border collie? It's a breed of dog. They can come in all shapes and sizes - dogs with floppy ears, dogs with short tails, dogs the size of horses and even dogs that can fit in a sandwich hamper," Emi stopped herself, maybe she was rambling? The woman's furry cheeks momentarily darkened, stopping herself neatly in her tracks before the train came crashing into the station.
Rather muddled from her moving, Blanche had daintily jumped onto the edge of the bag. Pristine paws struggling to catch their balance, her white tail jutted out behind her like a lamp post; it helped for now. Shyly, her small ears twitched, opening her black beak to return the series of clicks with one softer (almost croon like) click of her own.
Cetalu? So they had passed over the sandbar after all. Emi's blue eyes flicking briefly around one side of the man, doing her best to peer through the trees for any sign of vegetation beyond. It was only when Ieyasu asked the next question that the woman seemed to veer hastily back into focus. The other Island? "Oh, yes, we're from Ar 'Idil," She paused for a moment, glancing down to the chirping gryphon whose name had just been mentioned. With a smile now firmly set on her features, she continued. "She's beautiful."
Blanche studied the other gryphon for a moment, she didn't look dangerous. So, with a flying leap, she tumbled off the edge of the brown rucksack. Her wings spread out, ensuring a silent flight down towards the floor. Silent apart from the tumble and tussle upon the floor, the gryphon bowling right over onto her back. She'd have to work on her landings. Not to be defeated, the little gryphon rolled over before anyone could have said a word, yellow eyes gazing up towards Sasha's sharp blue eyes.

Osu listened intently to Emi's words before breaking out into another huge grin.
"That's so cool! I never met a dog before, but I seen one in my book!" Pausing, he looked at Emi for a moment, his expression suddenly turning curious. "Why you change colour?"
Ieyasu smiled as Emi commented on Sasha. "Thanks. She keeps me on my toes anyway." With a light-hearted grin, he cast a quick gaze over at Osu nearby. "Well, they both do." Looking down at Blanche as she bowled over into the bag, Ieyasu laughed a little at her antics.
"Your little gryphon is lovely too." Pausing for a moment, his expression turned thoughtful as he watched the gryphons. Blanche looked decidedly vulpine in her body structure. "..Is she part fox?" he asked, looking back to Emi again, the smile still on his face.
Sasha edged back slightly, rising to her feet as the other gryphon leapt off of the rucksack and bowled to a stop on the ground. With another high pitched chirrup, she padded forward on silent paws, intent on getting a closer look at Blanche. As the other gryphon rolled over from her rather rough landing, Sasha stopped a few inches away. Ruffling her brown and white wings, the young gryphon chirped as she stretched her head forward towards Blanches' in a decidedly curious manner.

Emi's large ears twitched, metallic blue eyes pouring over an answer, something to reply with. She hadn't meant to blush, but wait - did he even know what blushing was? That was obviously a deciding parental topic to discuss- luckily, Ieyasu caught her in mid thought. On her feet?
"Blanche isn't too much trouble, well, apart from the frequent nightly visits to a certain fridge," Emi began with, her long tail sweeping the sandy dessert floor behind her in almost what could have detected as a wag. "But even they aren't trouble." Finishing her sentence, Emi smiled happily. She rather enjoyed the pair of thems visits to the fridge these days.
"Aha, Blanche is half arctic fox, half arctic owl." It was as if she'd been awaiting that question. Pushing some unruley locks of curly hair away from her face, Emi paused for a moment; pondering on yet another nagging thought. "Would you like some lunch? I'm afraid I've only brought a few sandwiches, but I'm sure there's plenty to share around." Glancing fondly down at her little white charge, the furry woman took a step forwards. As the shade from the trees draped around the anthro like a cloak, her ears visably loosened - drooping down at either side of her head once more. It was too hot out there to be fur covered, and sitting down seemed like a highly viable thought at the moment.
Blanche, however, didn't appear to share her Mother's problems. Large yellow eyes watched Sasha's every move, tightening up her front paws as the gryphon bent in - only to pull back once she was upright. Her beak opened, a nervous series of clicks leaving her throat. Her clicks sounded more like a high pitched croon, smoothed out on the back of her beak to sound out.
So she was silent too? Two could play at that game. Letting her wings loosen at her sides, she slowly inclined her own head forwards. She didn't look dangerous, so what was the worst that could happen? Her paws twitched from where she was lying, would she mind if? Letting one last questioning click leave her throat, the lithe gryphon pushed her back paws up: falling forwards to lean on her front paws in a playful pounce stance.

Ieyasu grinned, nodding his head. "Osu's part fox too. Although, he's red fox, rather than artic." As Emi asked about lunch, Ieyasu paused, before glancing at his pack.
"Ah, I actually brought some food too. Since we were coming a fair way from Cetalu, I thought we'd have a picnic out here." The pale haired man's grin turned slightly sheepish, before he crouched down to rummage through the pack. "It's not sandwiches, but I brought some rice balls. You're welcome to have some, if you like." The kitsune produced a wrapped packet, unfolding it to reveal several shaped cakes of rice.
"Osu, you want something to eat?" Ieyasu glanced up questioningly at the child.
"Uh huh!" His question about changing colours forgotten, Osu bounded excitedly back over to Ieyasu, still holding his empty cup. By now, what he hadn't drunk from the cup had been spilled. There had been too much going on for Osu to notice though. He was hungry now though.
As Yassu held the packet out to him, Osu put down his empty cup and took one of the rice balls, beaming at his guardian. "T'anks Yassu!" Holding it with both hands, he began to munch away on it, dropping little particles of rice on the woodland floor. After a moment or two, he stopped eating, and looked over at Toby. Yassu was talking to the furry lady, Emi, Sash'ka was playing with Blanche, but Toby was sitting all on his own. Deciding to change this, Osu made his way over to the old dog, grinning cheerfully at him.
"Hiya Tobee! How come you all on your own? You want rice?" he asked curiously, glancing down at his half eating rice ball, and then back up at Toby again.
For a brief moment, Sasha almost touched noses with Blanche. There was a pause before Blanche clicked and abruptly dropped into a pouncing position. Initially, the tiger gryphon pulled back sharply, expecting the other Aerandir to make a swipe at her like the house cat would. When she realised what the fox gryphon's intentions were, Sasha was delighted. This gryphon was really interesting afterall! Descending into a rapid series of happy chirrups, Sasha moved back onto her haunches, her front paws leaving the ground for a brief moment. Bringing herself forward again on all fours, the striped Aerandir dropped briefly into a pouncing position of her own before standing up and bounding around to Blanche's side, emitting a playful chirrup.
This Aerandir would play with her, and even better, would play at pouncing! Sasha liked this gryphon.
