Not far outside of Holdine City the empire owns a property that stretches for acres. Lush well maintained gardens in the warm months, and snow covered evergreen forests stretch are prominent in the colder months. Occasionally the Army breaks the silence with practice with wargames or by testing out new equipment. Sometimes the serenity of the wilderness is disturbed by parties held in the open air.

But generally you would think the parties would happen in the enormous mansion at the centre of the property. They never do, the mansion is far more restricted than the grounds. Guards are posted at a second set of gates and the doorways. Nobody is getting in unless they know how to infiltrate or have an army at their back.

Still, the mansion is as mysterious as it is beautiful.

"And this is the mansion." One said the the other as they entered the grounds, "Least it has lots of outdoor space."

The man talking was Lio Dami. An imperial officer of indertiminant standing, all you could really tell was he was important. By the green colour of his coat of course, not by the way he carried himself. In fact, he wasn't even wearing the coat, instead it was draped over his shoulders like some sort of all concealing cape. Nor did his facical features exactly scream power and strength, more like sarcastic and jackass.

"But don't make up your mind about the job yet. You still have alot to see Mr. Wilcox."

Mr.Wilcox, indeed. The last time he had been called by his last name, he had been wearing the same clothes as he was now, that is to say, slightly less like a pirate, and more like someone wanting a job.

I want a drink. Money comes from jobs. Money, buys happiness.

The mansion was impressive, it was not only massive in size, but intricate in design, showing all the wonders of a really old building. It reminded him of a brothel he'd seen once down south. He resisted the urge to gag, or shake his head. What a terrible place that had been.

The man looked like a sarcastic jackass. John had a nigh-unfathomable respect for this, and was pleased to meet a suit he didn't feel like judo-chopping in the neck. John waved his arm, replying

"It all looks quite nice, please continue. "

I'm a gentleman, goddamnit.

"Glad you like it," Wait, was Lio smirking? "Most people who work here prefer the outside to the inside. Just the nature of being cooped up I suppose."

The must have passed a dozen checkpoints on the way up to the doors.

"So, I didn't get much about you other than your looking for work," He looked at Mr. Wilcox, yeah, it was a smirk, "I'm sure you've either got an impressive resume or keep secrets really well to be working at this place. The empire is generally paranoid about here, only use in house guards. Course the catastrophe at the Winter Palace made them rethink spreading what's left of the army too thin. So, let's hear your resume."

By the time he finished that they had reached the main doors. What knockers.

"I'm a man of many talents, or so the ladies tell me. I've been a bodygaurd, a hired personal soldier, a night watchman. I've bounced a few inns and taverns in rough neighborhoods, so I can handle myself in a fight. I'm a crack shot with a pistol, and I can hold my liquor. Lastly, I've got a talent that probably landed me this interview."

He could feel fingers flipping through his brain like it was a bin full of history files, the fingers setteled on "That time I don't like remembering" and flicked it open to the military section.

"When I was in the military for a short time, my squad leader was directing three other squads, and led us right into an ambush, This wasn't the first time he had led many men to thier deaths, so the brass began to suspect he was a traitor. They pummeled every single man on the squad to testify against him at a court marhsal. They threatened to demote me, they would take away my pay, my penison, my porperty still on mortgage. Other guys testified, he was proven innocent. But I kept my mouth shut. I guess they checked the little box that said i could keep a secret."

And they entered the mansion, more post on the inside.
