The invitations were sent out, the house cleaned. The day had come and Sethos wasn't sure whether or not to expect visitors. He would know soon enough. Not the type to fuss usually, he couldn't help but check things over one more time.
With swift steps, he walked down the hallway, toward his Father's room. It was sad to think that they'd be moving soon, but the growing family left no choice. Father was out, but Autsu had been left behind, the toddler curled up in his small bed in the larger room. He slept, but Autsu doubted that it would last. He was a restless, hurt child.
A shriek from the kitchen. The teakettle. Good.
Stop it. Hissed the tan snake curled around his neck like bizzare jewelry. Sit. Be calm my love. Be at ease.
"Indeed." Still feeling a bit restless, he returned to the sparcely decorated living room, taking a seat in the reddish brown easy chair. They would come soon, or he would not attempt such a thing again.

He didn't jump. That would be undignified. But he couldn't help but feel glad that someone had come, and rather disgusted with himself for that joy. He'd never been social. He wasn't good at being social. Now, he had no choice. Maybe none of them had a choice. If such a thing as had happened, happened again, he wanted to be sure of his alliances.
This was the only way to do that.
A prince can not stand without the support of others. He'd learned that once, a long time ago.
His familiar twisted down his arm, losing mass and wrapping itself about his wrist. Its dark tongue, flicked out, tasting the air. The dark one.
Donovan, then. Good. Dealing with Ritsuki alone seemed a bit, taxing.
Crossing the room quickly, he reached the door, hesitating only a second before pulling it open. Seeing the other male fae, he bowed slightly, a show of respect, but also of friendship.
"Donovan. It is... good that you could make it." With that said, he moved aside, allowing the other fae to enter his home.

Ritsuki walked up to a street sign quietly. It was almost time for her to be at Sethos's house, and she was a little lost. She had the directions he'd sent, but she'd somehow managed to lose her sense of direction. She'd figured out that she was close, but she still had no idea where she was. Walking around was supposed to work, if only a little. If she could only gind a street name that was on the directions, then she could find her way from there. But so far, she hadn't had any luck. All she had with her were the directions, a watch, and the mirror she'd gotten from the castle. The mirror was only with her because she thought Donovan or Sethos might know what it was. She was hopeful that they would, but the possiblity that they would know more than her was slim.
After what seemed like an hour of walking, she finally found a street that was written on the directions. She followed what was written, and made it to the house number that was said to be were Sethos lived. In the doorway, two familiar figures stood. The outlines of the two fae looked like they belonged there. She had the urge to run up to them and show how happy she was to see them again, but resisted it. She remembered who she was dealing with. The mirror and directions tucked safely in her pocket, she walked up to the doorway, joining the others and smiling.
"Good to see you again, guys."

"Ritsuki. Well come." There, both his guests had arrived. Sethos found himself relaxing marginally, glad that at least the first part of his plans had gone well. Of course, it only got harder from here. There was to be... conversation. Or something like it. He hadn't really worked out the details.
But first... tea. With a brief, sweeping gesture, he indicated the two plush chairs and couch that filled up the fairly small living room. "If you would." He murmured, reminding himself firmly that he had to talk at least a little. He was, after all, the host.
That said, he walked toward the kitchen, trusting the other teenage fae to seat themselves. A black tea set from father's home. Elegant, and made of some strange stone like material. Thin enough to imply translusance, but hard and excellent for keeping in heat. The cups were delicate with almost invisible leaves carved into them. The bowls for sugar and milk had a simular design. Pouring the hot water into the prepared tea pot, Sethos carried the entire tray into the living room, setting it carefully on the coffee table. There were snacks as well, but those could wait until everyone was settled.

Ritsuki walked passed Donovan, thanking him in a voice that was nearly a whisper. She followed after Sethos until they reached the living room. She sat in one of the chairs, randomly picking which one. It didn't really matter where she sat. The chair was very comfortable, and it felt nice to sit down after walking for so long. She placed her hands in her lap and relaxed a bit. Her eyes wandered, and most of her body moved along with them, adjusting in her chair.
"Wow."
She didn't speak in a whisper like before. If anything, it could have been thought of as a yell. The house was beautiful. The only other fae's house she'd been to other than her own was Ciro's, and that was a long time ago. She'd been a little girl. Now she was older, but the reaction was still the same as it was then. She laughed slightly, nervous. Maybe no one had heard. But then again, that was highly unlikely. But there was a chance, if only a slim one.
She continued examining the room throughly, and made sure she didn't have any more outbursts. Her smile hadn't faded, though it had gotten a little smaller.

Taking a seat on the couch, Sethos carefully poured tea for both his guests, leaving them to add their own sugar and milk. For his part, he liked the drink plain, feeling the subtle complexity of the blend was enough. Sussare, the snake curled about his wrist, moved onto his lap, growing as she did so, her sandy coils contrasting with the time fae's black slacks.
Must we do this? She wispered into his mind, tone a bit irritated. Her jelousy came at strange times, such as this one, and if a snake could be said to have expressions, the face she showed to the two other fae could only be labeled disapproving. I want to play.
Later. Playing for Sussare was practicing magic, an activity she seemed not to tire of. Usually he indulged her, but not now. This was important. Or something.
"I have been busy. Practicing." He responded at last. He still picked his words carefully, selecting each deliberately and considering before they left his tongue. "I wish to be able to defend myself, should we be attacked again."
And the choice of 'attack' was most deliberate of all. He wanted to emphisize the violation of their rights, the wrongness of their treatment. He wanted the other fae to share some of his anger. Still, he was calm, the perfect polite prince, sipping his tea and observing his peers through slitted eyes.

"I'm fine, Donnie, thanks for asking."
Ritsuki picked up the little cup of tea. She didn't add any milk or sugar, though after she started, it was appealing. Her cup was now about half full, and she looked into it. Her hands slowly moved it around in small circles, causing the liquid inside to slosh around. It was only held in by the circular walls. She watched its movements for a little while, until she looked up again. A small sigh escaped before she spoke, although her smile had not faded.
"So then, everything we saw was real. So much for wishful thinking."
One more sip drained most of its contents. She placed the cup back n the table, and used her left hand to pull out the mirror. She spun it around so that it faced Donovan, then moved it a bit more so it pointed in Sethos's direction. Another twirl, and it was facinig her once more. She could see her reflection in it, and at the moment, nothing more.
"Do either of you have any idea what this is? I know it's a mirror, but it isn't mine. I found it after I woke up."

There had been no place for denial with Sethos. After all, he'd returned with a huge snake wrapped around him. Trying to convince Sussare that she wasn't real would have been... well... he didn't want to consider her attitude during such a conversation.
A mirror? Well, that didn't seem very significant, but if Ritsuki was bringing it up in this particular group, there must be more to it than first appeared. Or she was simply being female. He supposed that was a possibility as well.
Leaning forward, he examined it, without touching, not saying anything. Donovan had already asked the necissary question, and that saved him the trouble. There didn't seem to be anything special about it... but he wasn't familiar with such things. Perhaps they should talk to Shy? Or his teachers...
It smells of magic. Sussare's tongue flicked out near the mirror, and her tone was thoughtful. But I do not know its origin.

Ritsuki looked into the glass for a few moments. Her reflection stared back at her, but for just a second, something else was there. It looked like another room. She could make out some furniture, but there was no one in there. But when she blinked, her reflection had returned. She looked back up again to the others.
"I don't know."
She managed to say it without sounding unsure. With just enough confidence in herself so she didn't arouse their suspicion. But what was that? She couldn't have imagined it.... So it'd have to be examined more throughly when she had the chance. But that could wait until she got home. She took another sip of her almost-empty tea and laid the mirror on the table.

Sethos was rather good at reading non-verbal cues, after all, he'd used them as a sole form of communication for much of his childhood. Donovan got a slight nod and a shrug from him. Silently confirming and expressing confusion. It wasn't that he didn't trust Ritsuki. He didn't trust the mirror. Or anything that came from that place.
Except Sussare, of course, and she had been a part of him.
"There is magic in it." He said, at last, still not touching the item of study. "We are not sure what."
A scream tore through the air then, and the sound was painful in it's qualities. A child screams, but not simply of discontent. This was fear and terror and heartbreak.
Sethos sighed softly, making a brief gesture in the air, almost a tugging. For a breath, the snake seemed to glow. "If you'll excuse me, my brother is about to wake. I'll fetch him."
