When do you draw the line between Rock and Classic Rock? Why can a song made in 1989 be considered classic when a song made in 1990 can't? Where is the line?

A song made in 1989 can't be called classic. The line starts at 1980. Everything that was before 1980 is classic.

Then what will happen in 2010?

Some people consider classic to be the new oldies.
Like the oldies station that switched to playing classic rock.
I disagree.

I also think it depends on the artist. Some people may listen to AC/DC off their newest album (2000) and still consider it classic rock because they associate AC/DC as being a classic rock band.

For me, classic rock means the second generation of rock and roll, the time when rock was discovering its full potential and reached its creative height, in conjunction with the various countercultural movements.
