I am a Filipino, born to an Illicano farm worker, and Tagalog City girl Ironically enough, my dad is the master of electronics while mom barely knows how to set the clock on the computer....
Sadly, forgot who to speak Tagalog fluently, but I can stil say some phrases and stuff. I also learned how to cook a lot of Filipino foods like Arroz Scaldo and Palabok
Anyone here ever eaten the entire Balut?

I am... I can speak very little tagalog and can't write it at all... It's pretty depressing but whatever... I've been brought up immersed in north american culture.

YAY! PINAY AND PINOY PRIDE!!!!! me happy! mrgreen Anyway, I am filipino but by only by blood. I wasn't born there crying pity me! My dad is Ilocano and my mom was from Pangasinan. I was born in the states though and I don't know much tagalog or ilocano. Living in New York, New York! People here can stereotype asians though. In my school, idiots act like they're Chinese to try to make fun of us but its annoying 'cause we're not Chinese... not that there is anything wrong with being Chinese! I mean I have a Chinese friend! It's just annoying that people look at you and think you're Chinese when you're proud to be what you really are (in my case, Filipino!) I can somewhat understand tagalog when my parents speak it but I can't speak, read, or translate it. I'm proud to be Filipino and I love my culture! Please PM me if you want to be my friend! ^-^ It's so hard to make Filipino friends where I live... cry
