So, just to get the ball rolling, I figured I'd ask and answer a few questions myself. Hope these are helpful!
3nodding So, what's the deal with the collars? A little BRish, ne?Yeah, a bit. That's partially my bit of inspiration. In conjunction with an old Rutger Hauer movie called Wedlock, and a little bit of Beet the Vadel Buster, thrown in.
OK, so what do the collars do, eaxactly? They monitor student location, they can administer varying degrees on shocks depending on the length of time the button is pushed. The ultimate punsihment "expulsion" involves needles coming out from witin to inject poison directly into the student's neck.
Woah. Button? What button? That would be the button on the remotes that every member of the faculty possess. However, only the Headmistress and the Dean can administer the poison. Lower members of the staff (janitors, cafeteria workers, etc.) only have enough power to render a student immobile. Teacher can deliver a much more lethal jolt.
Alright, so this place is called Matrimony. Are the kids married? No, not literally. It's symbolism. Each collar has a mate; should one student decide to, say, make a run for it the student who has the matching collar suffers the same consequences.
And those are?The second you pass through the invisible boundaries erected around the campus you get a not so mild jolt to let you know. The shocks steadily increase in frequency and intensity until you reached the limit. That is when the needles extend to inject poison. Death is but a few moment away.
So, what's to stop a student from getting their "mate" and running off together?Nothing...except that the Headmistress is the only one who knows who is assigned to who. And she's not the type to let that sort of thing slip, ne?
So what if I'm playing a teacher, and tell a student that I know who their mate is? Is that ok?Sure, so long as it's known that your character is full of caca. Which I welcome, really. The teachers are a pretty mean buch, supposedly.
What do you mean?I mean that jerks of all kinds are encouraged. Perverted, power crazed, crazy, sadistic....even just a b***h. A few kindly souls here and there are fine, but I don't want it to get out of hand.
Dresscodes? Why yes. All students wear private school type uniforms, though personal touches are allowed. Everyone, including teachers wear blazers that bear the Midori crest on it. Uniforms come in a variety of styles, and mixing and matching in permitted.
Ok, so I have my profile posted. Now, where should I start?Well, it depends. If you decide to be a new arrival, you must first post in "Admissions". But if you are playing a student who's already been here for a bit, you can post anywhere.
Where are the classes?Classes need teachers. When someone applies as a teacher, then they can post the thread for their class.
Can I make my own dorm thread?Nope. A mod will do it for you.
Can I be a mod?Nope. I have plenty, and if I need more, I will come to you. So don't waste your time asking.
How do students spend money? They earn credits on their student IDs which can be used in the school store across from the main office. Better students get more credits. Bad students barely get any. All new students begin with 10,000 credits. Nothing in the school store is under 200 credits.
