I saw this Dateline special report yesterday. 'Twas about Myspace and how potential stalkers can obtain personal information easily.
No, I don't use Myspace. But nonetheless, I found the report interesting.
You know those quiz thingies that you feel obligated to fill out? Yeah, those three-hundred-question-long ones. Other people can get information about you from those. And don't think that you're safe if you don't give out your own personal information. The comments your friends give may contain your full name there.
I don't mean to sound like your mother, but just beware when you're out surfing in cyberspace, mmkay?

My news must be slow or something. I was just watching that report earlier today.
....Kinda reminds me of how police used to use Xanga to track down criminals....Makes me glad I don't have a Myspace.

*Agrees with the not having a Myspace thing*
But then again...
Don't they always make a huge deal out of everything?
Just get bored...Oh hey! Let us try and expose the total obviousness of every net thing ever! ..After we get the doughnuts of course...hey, does that have filling?...

They can have filling, if you want them to.

haha that's funny
myspace sucks
even though i have two
neutral
the only way people could find you and come kill you are if you're dumb enough to put your address right on your page or if you tell them yourself
and well all know not to talk to strangers on the internet
because every single person you don't you wants to rape and/or kill you

Yeah, that's true, but other people can find information about you through others' comments. You may not necessarily give out your own information, but that doesn't mean that others won't.

well then set it so you have to approve every comment before it goes on your page, and if it says something revealing, don't allow it.

Hm. I had forgotten about that.
However, I don't think that completely privacy will last forever, especially in this Information Age.

It would help if you quoted. Not everyone can connect a new post with a post from a month ago...at least, not without some sort of reference.

*shrugs*
Well, if they dont remember whats been going on in the post from a month ago, before posting it would help them to have an idea as to what is going on, which requires reading the older posts. >.>
Then again, isn't a little randomness to confuse the common person usually rather funny to watch?
