I actually live in a Japanese style home with my pets.  But for those who want to see what my gaia house looks like when it's not acting up. Personality:Vivacious but slighltly prissy. She's rather ladylike and is quite fond of anything Lavender scented. She has been known to add edible lavender to foos when no one is looking. She is friendly and is the eldest of the three sisters.

About Lavender:
Latin Name: Lavendula augustifolia
Lavender is a Perennial flower. Flowers are deep purple and very fragrant. An excellent choice for making sachets, wreaths, and dried arrangements. Makes a delightful short hedge, potted plant, or rock garden specimen. Drought Tolerant.
Historical Trivia on Lavender:
In ancient times lavender was used for mummification and perfume by the Egyptian's, Phoenicians, and peoples of Arabia. The Greeks and the Romans bathed in lavender scented water and it was from
the Latin word "lavo" meaning "to wash" that the herb took it's name.
Uses:
Parts Used: Flowers and leaves
Cultivation: Lavender is usually started from cuttings, as it has a long germination time. It prefers light, well-drained soil in full sun, and some varieties are hardy to zone 5.
Cosmetic Uses: Lavender stimulates and cleanses the skin. Lavender vinegar is good for oily skin.
Culinary Uses: Use flowers and leaves in vinegars, and fruit jellies.
Magickal Uses: Lavender is used widely in love spells and sachets. Burn the flowers to induce sleep. Lavender is also used in healing and purification.
Medicinal Uses: Lavender infusions can be taken to combat headaches and depressions. Lavender makes a good nerve tonic, and was an ingredient in the "smelling salts" used by Victorian ladies. Use lavender to make a compress for chest congestion.

About Marshmallows
Technically, marshmallows are a confection -- a candy. They've been around in the form we know them since the mid-1800s.
They are called "marshmallows" because part of the early recipe called for sap from the root of the marshmallow plant.
According to Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, a marshmallow is:
1: a pink-flowered European perennial herb (Althaea officinalis) of the mallow family that is naturalized in the eastern U.S. and has a mucilaginous root sometimes used in confectionery and in medicine; 2: a confection made from the root of the marshmallow or from corn syrup, sugar, albumen, and gelatin beaten to a light spongy consistency
That word "mucilaginous" means "jelly-like." Later, the root was replaced by gelatin, and that is how modern marshmallows are made.

More About the Property...
There is also a hidden pool in the property where the mermaids swim. But for their protection and the protection of others I'm keeping that hidden. There are some unscrupulous people who desire immortality and seek mermaid flesh.
Another strange feature of the property is a hidden labyrinth. This labyrinth is the secret portal to get to the Island of the Fees and The Island of the Squirrelkins. Few know the secret of the maze and they will not tell it to you.
Do try not to get lost in the maze because other than pixies some rather nasty monsters live there. I'd rather not have a friend eaten by a hydra. So head the sign at the entrace that specifically says do not enter.
Inside the house there is a gallery of commissioned art of Fairy Dragons from various artists. Since most of the art is digital Aree had it uploaded to a hard drive attached to an LCD screen that randomizes the pictures. Unfortunately we had an accident with the screen. Scorch had a bit of a flying accident and the screen is now out at the shop being repaired.
Luckily Scorch himself was not hurt much other than a slight bruise to his head. His mate Blaze is tending to him and he's rather milking it.
