Avatar may be the first non-yaoi series I've ever seen to have applied reverse-fanservice. Now, normally, fanservice falls under things like female characters in skimpy swimsuits, or girls wearing tiny skirts while doing flips all over the place. To appeal to male audiences, of course. <3
Avatar, however, has wiser creators. Creators who know that they have more fangirls than fanboys. You'll note that every major male character in the series has been shown shirtless at some point. Usually while in some form of loincloth/speedo.
Aang, Zuko, Sokka, Zaoh, even Iroh (for the old-fetishists. xD) I'm sure there are others too.
But no shirtless Katara. : (
Actually, most all of the females shown thus far have been dressed pretty modestly. xD

Well of course they won't show her shirtless it's showen on "nick" a kid's program if it was on adult swim then it would be different.

My god, that's why this show is so amazing! None of the girls have those little mini-skirts that only anime can really seem to get that short. *Sigh*
I even thought for a while that all of the girls were just as strong as the guys, too.

Well, Katara's been in her underwear. biggrin And yes, it was hot.
