The unkempt dryness of the desert had been getting to the lioness all morning, the sun blistering down upon the Motoujamii's layer like an uncontrollable wave of heat.
However this was what the pregnant female had gotten used to all these moon's when she had returned to the land's of her birth with her brother.
Everything seemed remotely calm other then that, she had eaten well, her mate was close by, probably and she had grown a new 'friendship' with the lioness Nuri.
But, the calm was soon shattered as a sharp pain suddenly seemed to streak like lightning across her swollen abdomen, making the lioness give out a loud, painful yowl.
That was more then enough to spark the huntress into moving, leg's shaky from the shock and weight she heaved now as her natural instinct's kicked in.
As she moved toward's hers and her mate's cave, she started to pant, feeling the sharp contractions run through her system as if to scream to her that her cub's demanded out of her body.
Kavuasi, she wanted him here.
While she lay down, she let a loud roar rip across the silent desert, hoping he would hear it as the sand on the floor of the cave became darker with the breaking of the lioness' water.

Kavuasi had been exploring his family's old cave when Mpeka's roar met his ears. All the hair on his neck stood on end, and he let a roar loose in response, then raced towards his and Mpeka's den. His heart was racing; was it time? Was she hurt? How would he handle it?
He was going to be a father... He ached just thinking about it. He had no real example to base his own actions on. And he silently prayed, hoping any of the gods could hear, that he wouldn't screw anything up.

The lioness lay on her side, ear's flat against her skull as her bright golden eye's winced in pain as every contraction felt like a cold kick in the gut.
As Kavuasi entered the scene she gave a small mewling whimper, happy that he came.
Still it wasn't like he could really help her.
All she could do was wait.
However with one strong contraction, the lioness gave another push, a loud growl erupting through her before the soft wet plop and faint mew's reached the new mother's ears.
Making her turn to see her first born.
The lioness quickly ate up the afterbirth, cleaning of her new cub with her rough tongue and soft pained tears that leaked from her as she was given this chance for rest.
"Oh Kavuasi look at him, he's so beautiful." She said softly.
The cub squealed as the cold air hit him, where had the warmth gone!?
The bright world frightened him as did the sudden movement of his mother.
But, as any child, he was soothed by the soft purr's and warm, yet rough, tongue that slid over his new, dark red baby fur.
Paying no attention to the strange noises of his parent's voices.

Kavu took one startled look at the male cub, then a wide grin spread over his face. Their firstborn! He bent over and licked the little male's forehead, then settled himself beside Mpeka, nuzzling her encouragingly.
"Our little boy... He's got your markings and fur." He whispered softly, glancing from his mate to the cub.

The young male squeaked at his father's attention, lloking around blindly before he was gently nudged by his mother toward's the 'milk bar'.
Only to take in the warmth his mother's fur provided.
Mpeka purred loudly at her mate, nuzzling him back affectionatly, only to let a content smile light her maw at his comment on their first born son.
However, as the saying goes there was no rest for the wicked and the contraction's started again, this time they where less painful.
Now that she expected what was going to happen.
Still, it didn't make it hurt any less.
More contraction's and more pushing and soon the second cub was born, again she turned and picked up this one.
Letting a fond smile grace her as she looked at this one.
She then turned to Kavu' and smiled sweetly.
"It look's like your first daughter is your doppleganger too."

Kavu trembled as Mpeka's contractions began again. He felt helpless... But as their daughter was born, Kavu's grin grew, and he quickly placed a wet kiss on both her and Mpeka's foreheads.
"And she has your eyes." He noted softly, eyes sparkling as he watched their two cubs. His heart swelled with pride; he knew it didn't matter much, but knowing that their firstborn was a male pleased him to no end.
"You're doing well, love." Kavu continued, pressing his nose against Mpeka's cheek.

The small cub let out a grunt as she felt something hit her eyes. She discovered that she couldn't open them well at this moment, but something was moveing near her.
What was that?
It didn't matter, something else was kicking in. Something that was rumbling from the center of her. It was rather annoying, so she started to crawl towards the warmth in front of her.
Her nose bumped into something and she let out another grunt.
Hm. What should she do with this?
Opening her small jaws she moved around until she found something and started to suck on it. Hard.
It was filling the rumbling in her.

The cub gave out a shrill mew.
What on earth was that next to him?...a fluff ball?
He gave another curious mew, still suckling away at the warm milk that was supplied before he moved a small, white tipped paw to prod and investigate the new thing.
Mpeka smiled fondly over her two cub's, a loud purr still resonating and rumbling from her as she watched them.
However as more contractions came, the next cub was out before she even had the chance to push.
A small ammount of pain and a strong contraction pushed the cub out, letting the mother quickly eat up the placenta and get down to cleaning the newest cub up.
She smiled more so at this one and gently nuzzled against Kavuasi's mane.
"Another little boy."

Kavu grinned, nuzzling against his mate and the newest boy.
"He's a handsome one!" He commented.
The cub mewed loudly, shuffling quickly towards his mother. He squeezed himself in between his two siblings and began feeding, squeaking loudly as his belly began to fill. heart

The smaller female let out a squeak and stopped drinking as she was poked. What in the world? Why was she just poked?
That was rude. With a sigh she poked back, maybe a little harder than she meant to.
What are you doing? Scratch him.
Kick him.
The voices sounded different but she just ignored them for now and poked the other thing again. What was it?

The male cub grumbled in protest, and released his hold on his mother, flopping onto his side as he tried to poke his sister back. Ack! And now he couldn't get to his feet! He squealed loudly, ears flattening against his head as he tried to wriggle his way right-side-up again.

The little female let out a sigh and pushed her feet against the other beside her, flipping it back onto it's belly. She had heard it squeal, whatever it's problem was.
She couldn't see very well right now, but she knew enough to know that the other thing beside her was just as clumsy as her. Well, not that she was all that clumsy.

((OMG! SO SORRY I'VE BEEN AWAY!! crying ))
The adult female purred contently as she watched her young cub's, purring loudly as she nuzzled against her mate to wait for the contraction's to start again.
He squealed loudly at all this movement, an annoyed yowl coming from him as he gently nudged into his mother's belly fur, wanting her to do something about it.
However she id not and allowed the cub's to settly their dispute's.
Suddenly the contraction's started again and the female let out a small whimper, how many was she going to have?
Hopefully it would be over soon, but still she gave some strong pushes with the abdomen cramps and soon enough the newest daughter was born.
As she pulled this one close she had to let out a soft chuckle before cleaning her little daughter.
Smiling softly.
"My goodness, wait till Teleka see's her."

Kavuasi chuckled, amused by their cub's tussles, then beamed proudly as another daughter was born.
"Beautiful... Absolutely beautiful...."
Ahhh! Yes! Back on his feet once more! The little male continued drinking his fill, then let his feet slip out from underneath him and nuzzled against his siblings and mother. Now for a nice nap...

A frown crossed Khepri's face as she heard the squeal to her other side. It was insanely hard to hear for all of the things she heard elsewhere, but she heard it just the same.
Swivling her head, she felt her other sibling curl into her, but she didn't really mind all that greatly. What she was rather cross about were the voices she heard and the fact that the squealing hurt her head as well as them.
She poked her other brother in the side again.
Is that all you've got?
Is that it?
Kick him! He kicked you!
