The park. It was the only place he could think of taking Colby that didn't have an age restriction! Plus it was safe enough to allow the boy to crawl around and inspect things curiosuly. Though Jason was getting sick and tired of getting up to stop Colby from putting something into his mouth like dirt, grass, worms, a even a small frog. Currently the blue haired youth was standing over Colby, pulling yet another insect from the boy's hand.

Colby gave a gurgling bit of laughter before he began to crawl off again. It was the second time Jason let him play outside and there was so much to explore! His little legs and hands got him crawling, grass stains on his hands and knees. Not like he cared, he was headed towards another interesting thing he seen, a colorful ball that was unfortuantly not his.

Jason moved the few steps he had to so he could lift Colby up into his arms. "Ok I think that's enough on the grass... you're getting filthy." He sighed, he'd have to ask his mom how to get grass stains out later.

Corpse contently perched itself on Jason's shoulder, eyeing other things in the park.

It was about time Eriol got out of the house. He'd been all but trapped there ever since the return from the Satourne clan's crisis. Not that he'd wanted to see anyone, but being cooped up like that was making him go insane. As soon as he started to see ghosts in his room, he figured it was about time he took in some air at the local park.

Of course, he wasn't allowed to have time to himself. Most of the family had taken advantage of the nice day, leaving Eriol without a babysitter. So he'd been forced to dig out the old baby carrier, and carried it like an oversized basket on his arm, bending a little under the weight.

The two riders were delighted, one more than the other. Viviana's hands grabbed at anything that passed, and she positively glowed under the sunlight. Lying on one side of the baby carrier, she kicked her legs under her white dress, exposing her feet to the gentle breeze. Squeezed in next to her was Outcry, clearly not happy about the tight conditions, but surprisingly he didn't put up too much of a fight. Perhaps he was relenting, pleased with Viviana's delight, or perhaps he too was enjoying himself.

Eriol didn't care. All he really wanted to do was find a big grassy patch to sprawl in, preferably one under a tree. After a bit of a search he came across the perfect spot, next to a bench in case he wanted to sit later, shaded by a few trees. It was ideal, except for the not-entirely-friendly youth standing dead center.

It looked like he might be leaving though, so Eriol approached. "You comin or goin? And if yer comin, mind if I join ya? Ya've got a nice lookin spot there."

Jason's head snapped up when someone began to speak to him, more importantly someone he didn't know. Colby was drawn to his person a bit closer as a frown fixed onto his face. Coming or going? He was bloody standing in one spot... The poor Celdar was obviously confused.

Corpse however was taking an interest in the basket the other carried, leaning just a bit off of Jason's shoulder to get a closer peek inside. Not only Corpse but Colby was looking in that direction as well. A small line of drool oozing from the baby boy's mouth to land on Corpse's foot, the Deamon pulling it away with a small hissing sound.

"You can stay..." Jason said after a minute of thought. "It doesn't matter to me there's... uh.. plenty of room I guess." It was a large park after all...

That was a reasonable answer. Eriol nodded, letting himself sink onto the bench. He'd have to wait until later to laze around in the grass if he was to share the spot with someone else.

The basket-like carrier was unloaded onto the bench, and Outcry was quick to wiggle out and flop onto the wooden slats. It was far too cramped in there for him. His tail was pinched! Quite annoyed, he let out a single moan of discontent, which was cut off as he caught a glimpse of the other daemon perched on the tall thing's shoulder.

Turning her head slowly towards the whale, Viviana struggled to look up, and also saw the pair. Three new people, it looked like! She smacked her hands together once, then let them drop onto her lap. One of them was covered in the same color she was, except she had some darker parts, and the other one had things on his back that she did not. They looked fluffy, like the stuffed animals she had at home, and she wanted to see them. Hopefully the other one would let her look.

It took Eriol several moments to notice that the other boy was not alone. "You babysittin or somethin?" he asked conversationally, trying to make the best of things. "Cute kid."

Colby's face spread into a big smile as he let out a giggle, wiggling just a bit to get into a better position in Jason's arms to see Viviana. Corpse in the mean time took the moment to hop down off of Jason and over to the bench, climbing up onto the back of it and staring down at Outcry.

Jason cast a small smile at Eriol. "Actually he's mine... A sort of... New responsiblity I aquired. Did you know there's this wacked out house around here? I was trapped in a room of mirrors and after falling through the floor touched this book and them boom this." At the word 'this' Colby was held out just a bit, the baby giggling cutely.

"Some little girl said he was my responsibilty now. I don't even know what to do. Not even my mother has a clue about it and she's always dealing with some sort of weirdo." As he spoke Jason moved closer to the bench, sitting on the open part and Colby was placed in his lap. The baby was now closer to Viviana, wiggling in Jason's lap to try and get even closer.

Trying to reach the other kid was difficult when one had very little upper body strength. Viviana flailed, twisting and turning and getting her legs tangled in her long skirt. That left her worse off than she had been before, yet the upside was that the tension actually pulled her upwards a little, finally allowing a true glimpse of the boy, and allowing him a true glimpse of her.

Whatever that thing was, Outcry had no idea, but he stared right back. After a few seconds he blew a little bit of air through his blowhole and rolled onto his side. He'd never seen anything like the little creature before.

At the words "wacked out house," Eriol paled, though it was barely noticable. His hands, halfway to fixing Viviana's skirt, froze, and quickly retracted, balling up into fists. It had to be the same one. No way were there two wacked out houses snaring innocent teenagers and forcing kids that came from books on them. Even the falling through the floor was the same. But he hadn't seen any mirrors, and the one who explained things was not a little girl, but a very odd lime-green man. Still, the similarities were too great to ignore.

"No way," Eriol muttered, voice barely above a whisper. His tone rose rapidly, becoming almost a shout. "No ******** way! That freaky house's jus... evil, or somethin! You got mirrors? I was there, and it almost ******** drowned me, and then this freaky green guy singin disco tol' me that SHE-" he paused, gesturing wildly at Viviana "She, and the whale, were mine! Wha's that guy's damage?"

A bit dramatic perhaps, but it expressed his feelings very well. He hadn't REALLY been able to vent about the whole experience to someone who might understand, so he grabbed the first opportunity he had and ran with it.

When she was pointed at, Viviana let out a soft whine, but kept surprisingly still. She even stopped kicking her legs. Only when Eriol stopped speaking did she move again, trying in vain to get free.

"Sorry." He gave a lopsided smile. "Jus needed ta get tha' out."

Jason looked shocked at the male's sudden outburst. They had something in common! "My mother thought I was crazy when I told her what happened! Telling me there was no way a house like that could exists. It's a twisted verison of a carnival fun house is what it was!" He sighed, looking at Viv when she froze and smiled a bit. Colby was then lifted over and placed into the basket opposite side of her so the two could be face to face as Jason continued.

When the whale blue the air, Corpse hissed and scuttled across the top of the bench, sitting on the end with Eriol as she began to clean herself.

"I walked in because I was lost and this voice started talking to me. Then this bright light turned on and blinded the s**t out of me! I shouted and thankfully the lights were dimmed but then all these mirrors were around me. I had to wander arond the ******** maze for god knows how long. And then those things! This scracthing sound started back at the beginning and I went back to look. My mistake as these like corpsey looking things ran after me to eat me! To make the long story short I burned a hole in the wooden floor with my abilities and slipped through to land in this old library. I touched this book and a girl told me to help her get her doll from her dad's office and afterwords she simply said 'It's your responsibility now' or something like that and I was left with him, that thing and this big a** mirror that I had to carry home."

He gave a small huff as he finished his story. "I never though someone else would bump into me with the same situation... well similar one. I can ask you now, what do I do with him?"

While Jason had been telling his story Colby was staring at Viviana curiously. He had managed to get crawling down and moved a bit towards the girl with a fit of giggles and a big warm smile. "Wahaa!"

Outcry wiggled and turned himself to look the other way- not an easy feat for a whale on a bench- and let out a soft croon. He made no attempt to contact the other daemon again, instead settling himself as comfortably as he could. It was, of course, his intention all along to turn that way.

Trying to keep his cool, Eriol nodded. "Yeah. My mom din't really b'lieve me either. Which's stupid, since she's the one who sent me to the damn house in the firs' place! I was jus gonna d'liver somethin, 'round Halloween, an the house locks me in an starts floodin. So I head upstairs, 'cept the staircase musta been bad, and I fell through. An then that started floodin too! An then I end up in the library, an, well, y'know the rest I guess. 'Cept it was a guy that told me, 'bout the kids an the books an the daemons an stuff."

Though he was a little bit resentful. How come HE hadn't thought of burning holes in things? Not that it would have done him good.

"As fer what do do with 'em..." Eriol pulled out his lighter and started to fiddle with it, something he did when he was confused or worried. "I'm not sure. Was sorta hopin you might know, really. I've just been stuck with her since November."

Still stuck and now a bit crowded in again, Viviana whined softly. Her legs were both wrapped in the fabric of her dress, and even though the kid with the fluffy back was closer now, she couldn't see the fluffy things. She couldn't even respond to the smile, since she was NOT happy with the situation.

Her cries went unheard. "My name's Eriol, by th'way. The girl's Viviana, an the whale-thing's Outcry, I think. Kinda nice to meet someone else who's been there, yanno? We should have one of those things... a whaddyacallit? A support group!"

Corpse took little to no interest in the rest, though would once in awhile glance either at Eriol when he started to speak or look over Colby when the boy giggled. She really was a bit curious about the girl and the large bulky whale, but kept to herself. Her head turned to Eriol when a fly landed on his head and the youth would feel a small swat to him as she caught it and then promptly ate it.

Jason listed to the other speak, noting the heavy accent and trying to make senes of it all before having to ask him to repeat something. Thankfully he managed well enough. "My name is Jason." He started, and gestured to the Daemon. "That's Corpse, and the boy is Colby. I just got these two on the first of April."

He sighed a bit, brushing a few strands of hair out of his face. "What else did that man tell you about it? I have absolutely no knowledge of the whole ordeal... Though... over these past few days I can tell you that, given the situation, I would have done it a thousand times over. Colby kind of ... I don't know... I guess makes me happy." He laughed a bit at how corny he must of sounded.

Colby in the mean time had contently sat on his butt instead of trying to get any closer. Really he couldn't get anymore smooched in than he already was. Green eyes stayed fixated on Vivana, that smile never leaving his face even though she seemed a bit annoied with the situation.

It was Outcry that forced the attention back to the infants, by blowing loudly. If he could have he would have sorted Viviana out. But the best he could do was get attention. When it was clear no one was listening, he added to the mix of noise a louder noise, difficult to describe, but almost a singing moan.

Eriol blinked as something tapped his head, then turned his focus downwards. "Whoops... careful there, cookie." With practiced ease he pulled the dress and child apart so that both could move freely. "She does 'at a lot," he murmured, almost apologetically.

"Tha's some whacked out April Fool's prank." The teen hissed, tail thrashing on the bench next to him. "You dunno anythin? Anythin at all? I'm not real sure how much help I'd be, yanno? But, uh... well..." Remembering this stuff was difficult under pressure. "This's hard. I know the kids an th' animals're connected somehow. They're named fer words from that ripped up bit'a paper they come with."

Come to think of it, that was something they had in common- an inextricable connection to a library, and now to a ripped up bit of paper.

"Anyway," he continued distractedly, "tha' bit'a paper's importan ta the kids an stuff, but I'm not real sure how. Somethin 'bout the book they came from or whatever. Oh, an yer not supposed to put the kid an the daemon far apart, or bad stuff happens."

Forgotten Documents 101. Hopefully he wouldn't be asked to teach 110.

Finally free to move a little more, Viviana rolled onto her side and looked Colby over. She returned the smile with one of her own, and reached out to him. Maybe she could see the fluffy things stuck on his back.

Jason gave a faint nod of his head every now and then while the other boy spoke even though his face was turned away from Eriol to watch the children. He was still listening though, or at least gave that impression.

So they were both in this weird position and neither had better sense of what to do that the other. Perhaps later they would be able to share more hints and how tos, but for now Jason had a few more learning experiences to learn first. All he knew so far about Colby was that he was in fact a poop machine. Already he could catch the faint oder in the air. He'll have to be changed soon... Jason mused to himself.

But first, he once more turned to Eriol and smiled softly. "You said they can't be sepereated right? Why? What happens? And at what distance and for how long?" Innocent enough to ask, though Jay didn't want to satisfy his curosity by actually doing what he was just told not to do...

Colby on the other hand had stopped his movement. He had not only gotten close enough to the girl, but now he had to concentrate on a very important dirty deed. As he sat there his eyes never left Viviana, and had he been older it may have ment something more along the lines he liked her. But he wasn't old enough for those kind of thoughts yet.

A few moments passed and then a bubbly giggle broke the silence. The dirty deed was done. Again the boy became active, this time leaning over to take a hold of Viviana's hair and giving a playful tug. Youch! So the boy didn't know how to treat the ladies yet, but he had time to learn in the future.

Jason jumped and would lift Colby out of the basket. "Sorry about that, kids...." he laughed nervously and lifted Colby up to hise nose and gave a sniff. Yep... Full. "Well I have a present to attend to, would you like to go get some coffee? There's a cafe not far from here..." Ok, so maybe it sounded to him like he just asked Eriol on a date... But he doubted the other was gay like himself. Though... He is shag-able. Jason thought while giving Eriol a glance over. "I can't stay out long though, I have a family thing later."
PostPosted: Tue May 09, 2006 9:50 pm

What was he, a professor? Eriol shook his head. "I'm not sure, really. I mean, Vivi got real upset when we tried ta put Outcry in th'bathtub. Me'n Linnea- she's one've my sisters- we thought he migh' like it better there, yanno, with room ta swim. But she kept cryin an cryin. I dunno if it's the same fer everyone. I mean... you guys are the firs I've really met who didn' think I was nuts."

Excepting the lime-colored man, who Eriol strongly suspected of being nuts himself.

When faced with a smile there wasn't much Viviana could do but smile back continuously. She liked it when people smiled at her. He wasn't moving much, but that was okay, maybe she could touch the fluffy things. Mustering her strength, Viviana leaned forward... and abruptly let out a cry of surprise when Colby took hold of her hair. That HURT! If touching the fluffy things was like that she was sorry she wanted to do it. But none of that occured to her immediately other than the shock and the pain.

As soon as Colby was out of the way Eriol darted forward and picked up Viviana. At the same time he eyed the other baby with distaste. "Man, how can ya joke about tha? It's disgustin."

Still whimpering, Viviana buried her head in Eriol's chest. Pushing her head against him helped numb the pain a little. And of course, it always felt good to be held tenderly. Slowly the whimpers quieted down.

Only when Eriol was sure Viviana was okay did he pay any more attention to Jason. A cafe? That sounded like date stuff more than guy stuff, and he didn't particularly swing that way. If h did, he might have considered Jason attractive, but even that thought spooked the Casanova-in-training. "Just for a little, hm?" Well, he was peckish, and if they both had to leave early then all the better. "Sure."

"Yes, it may be disgusting..." Jason started as he gently cradled a now fussy Cobly in his arms, "But I have more younger siblings than I want to count and had to change each of their diapers ... I'm used to it. The only good thing about it now is to joke about it."

Flashing a smile at Eriol, he rose to his feet and gave a gentle whistle. Corpse seemed to perk up awake, quick to take a squat down on Jason's offered shoulder.

Colby continud to fuss about being held, trying to get a better look at the other baby. So much like him and yet so much different! He wanted to play more damn it all! Little feet began to kick and a small and yet soft scream came from his lips.

Jason shifted the boy to his free shoulder, patting his back lightly betweenthe toy wings. "Shhh. Calm down kiddo... bottle and change and then you can play." The baby bag was next to be grabbed before he glanced at Eriol. "Ready? The cafe I believe isn't far from here..."
PostPosted: Fri May 19, 2006 8:03 pm

The two had so many similarities it was starting to creep Eriol out. "Yeah," he muttered uneasily. "I know, I got a buncha younger sibs too. But Mom takes care'a them. It's a mom thing, yanno? Just... eeeh."

While he spoke, the teen placed Viviana and Outcry back into their basket-carrier, ignoring the girl's continued distress and the whale's fury at being packed like sushi. Unlike the well-prepared Jason, he hadn't brought anything like bottles or a diaper change. The kid had been changed and fed before she left, so she'd be fine for a couple hours... right?

And if not, maybe his new friend would do the honors, since he seemed to like it so much.

Safe in her carrier, Viviana buried her head in Outcry's flank, letting the water that surrounded him mix with the remains of her tears. She didn't care that the boy wanted to play more, his kind of playing hurt! Her scalp was still tingling, and though most of the pain had faded, the strange sensation was enough to keep her scared.

"M'ready," Eriol announced. Once the kids were packed he was set. With a grunt he lifted the basket, staggering a little under its weight. Kids were heavy. But he had to be a man, so he shrugged the basket onto his shoulder and gestured with his other hand for Jason to lead the way.

And lead the way he did, the blue haired youth started off down the bricked park trail. He did glance back to make sure that Eriol was following, slowing his pace so the two could walk at each other's side. "Heh..." He thought over the situation and couldn't help but smirk. "Two guys with babies... I wonder what people think." He himself would think 'oh there's a guy that got some woman in trouble' specially with the way he himself dressed...

Cobly was leaning on the shoulder closest to the basket. His cries were soon to turn into sniffles and snuffles, little hands rubbing at his eyes while his nose was rubbed against Jason's shoulder. Eventually he calmed down from the soothing pets to his back from his father and he looked down at the basket. It took him a minute or two, but he realized who was down there and smiled wide, giggling happily as he watched Viviana.
