Story
Everyone knows the feeling. Returning to find your home broken into. Your possessions thrown around. Dresser drawers ransacked. Everything you own having the unmistakable feel of a stranger's fingers on them. The only thing worse than that is what isn't there: the things that once belonged to you that have been taken by creeps.
But now is not the time to despair. There's no time for anger. There's only time to call Ban and Ginji. They're the Get Backers, and they live by a simple motto: "If it was taken, we'll get it back." No one will be refused. (At least not until that huge tab they've run up gets paid off!)

Characters
Ban Midou
As the serious member of the Get Backers dynamic duo, he has inherited the powers of the Jagan and the crushing Snake Bite in his arm. A man of mystery, he's always there for his partner in time of need and doesn't mind giving the antagonists a little after service bonus of a nice dream.
Ginji Amano
Formally known as the Lightning Emperor of the Limitless Fortress, Ginji has changed his life and now assists Ban in the business of recovering what has been taken. Often seen as a bumbling clown, he has surprising abilities when the danger to others causes him to tap into his powers that made the Lightning Emperor so terrifying.
Shido
Having mastered the techniques of the animal kingdom, Shido often uses his powers as a beast master to call upon the help of his animal friends in time of crisis. Previously he was one of the Four Kings of the Volts under Ginji in the Limitless Fortress, but once Ginji left he too left to seek a place in the world. After meeting a blind musician, he begins to see that he can be comfortable around his own kind too.
Kazuki
The last heir to his family's school of thread techniques, Kazuki is a curious former member of the Four Kings. He can often be found helping damsels in distress when he's not being mistaken for a girl himself. His skill as the Thread Master make him a formidable opponent.
Akabane
Also known as Dr. Jackal, Akabane came across the Get Backers during a transport job. His bloodlust is unlimited and he judges the value of a job by how much enjoyment he can get out of it. Often he enjoys playing with Ginji and Ban to see the extent of their powers as they come across each other during various assignments.
Himiko
As the younger sister of Ban's old friend, Himiko is also in the transport service. She's convinced that Ban killed her brother, but she is still unsure of the events of that day. With the help of the Get Backers she becomes their useful ally who weilds the power of several poisons which earned her the nickname Lady Poison.

This show is like my third favorite, which actually ties with Sailor Moon. I first seen it a few years ago and fell in love with the series. Thanks to an online friend who bought me the second season, I now have all the DVDs. Some of the guys are just so slashable. It doesn't help that every word coming out of Akabane's mouth when he is talking to Ginji sounds like a come on... Considering some of the official artwork that is out there, it is no wonder that we fans enjoy pairing the boys together (and even a few of the girls).
My favorite couple is Kazuki and Juubei. They're so sweet together as best friends who grew up together.
So who else is a fan? Please let us spazz together about such a wonderful series!

Me! I am ^_^ I think Ginji and Ban are cute, but Juubei and Kazuki are pretty much married. Juubei is such a good little wife xd Although, the Ban and Ginji wedding pictures are very very nice 3nodding
I kind of lost touch with the series. It's so long. I stalled at volume 11 of the manga. I'm sure I'll eventually pick it up again. There's just so much potential there. heart

You're right, it's so slashy. More so than normal for a shounen manga. xd Juubei and Kadzuki are so married. And Ban and Akabane are so after Ginji. Ban's wining so far. XD
I also like Shido/Emishi. I do like Shido with Madoko. They are cute, sweet and silly together. But there's something about Shido/Emishi that makes me smile.

For-Chan Cookie, can you show me those wedding pictures you speak of? I have not seen those.
The same friend who got me the rest of the DVDs also sent the manga up to volume 13. Schoolwork has kept me busy so I'm still reading volume 1.

The anime is so much more slashy than the manga, because a woman who loves yaoi was one of the main artists of the series. Have you ever seen her artbook? With all the hawt pictures of Ban and Ginji?
My favorite pairings are Ban/Ginji, Juubei/Kadsuki/Toshiki, Akabane/Ginji, and I could probably come up with some other ones that I've done in my fanfiction (like the random Shido/Akabane, talk about crack). Ever since I saw Get Backers I fell in love with the series. And the manga is out of this world too, with a different story-line than the anime (right now, anyway).
I've even cosplayed Akabane and Ginji. My next GB cosplay will probably be Juubei, cause I like characters like him.
Favorite Juubei line (from the translated manga): "Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana."

It's been a while since I last watched that anime xD I had to borrow it from a friend cause he told me it was really good and I didn't believe him >.>
...I do now xD
After a few episode, Ban and Ginji were stuck in my head for a few days. It was soooo imposible for me to see them with anybody else. >.< Friendly bond my butt! It obviously goes further...fufufu...
The art wasn't that bad either. I think I'll re-watch it again,just for the heck of it!
