Know the trad. Irish music, but that's from the dancing I do (and I'm close to Prizewinner! Yay!). I know a little poem that my mom learned from her grandfather, but only verbally...

Though, I do know my aunt in Ireland has a ton of farmland, and the lambs were recently born! Very cute, too. They probably stink, though... xd

I guess Ireland is not as "big" at other places xp I don't know, Ireland is beginning to make more of a stand however...

IRELAND IS AWESOME!!! Great country it is (and all my irish friends are like "Never say 'Top o' da mornin' to ya!" to an Irish man. That's like saying all Japanese people are ninjas."

I'm like..."They're not?!" jk

And then they were making fun of Americans. "dang, man!"

I consider myself mainly interested in my irish ancestry, really I am literally half british, but I am interested in the irish culture. Though I also am pretty fascinated by bulgarian culture, I will be the first to admit, I am very little irish by blood, but I listen to the traditional music, though Ireland is mainly catholic these days I still base my beliefs off of old irish paganism, granted, I am american, but I care more about where I came from and where am going than where I am, and america is not where I am staying. Either way, and no, I unfortunately do not speak gaelic. I would give my left pinky finger to be able though, I have tried time and time again, but I am bad at teaching myself these things. Oh, to add to my little celtic repetoire I also play the pennywhistle, harp, bagpipes (i know these are not irish, but, uilleann pipes are on my list of instruments to learn) and if I have my way, I will get an irish flute, I know it is the same fingerings as the pennywhistle, but the tone is richer in some ways than the whistle.

I'm not an "obsessor", but I find myself somewhat interested. I have a weakness for tragic histories and pretty languages, or something.
I'd like to know a little bit about the Irish culture as a matter of fact. Quite randomly I arranged a week-long trip to the Republic. That's going to be real interesting.

i like the way you put tragic history xd

if you are staying in the republic i would avoid dublin-its a kip,the people are very unfriendly and there is loads of homeless people, which is very sad.carrick-on-shannon is a great town, small but is rocks at nite, galway is lovely and rocks too.people in cork, donegal and kerry are very friendly but you may have difficultly understanding their accents (both in english and irish).

lol. xp
I won't spend a lot of time in Dublin; I've been told it's not so great. We'll mostly spend time in trails (Wicklow Way's definitely in my plans) and smaller places.
I hope I can communicate with people without appearing like a complete arse. smile I'm one of those "OMG I don't know you why are you looking at me please don't bite my head off" type of people. XD
